every couple of minutes my internet stop sending data but the downloads keep running, i can see it in my net meter, my skype get disconnected, online games too, this happen specially between 11 am and 9 pm, i know that my isp during pick hours is most probably the problem, but my friend that lives close dont have this problem with the same isp. is there anything i can do to solve this?

I run broadbandspeedchecker and it shows download of 8 and then upload doesn't work at all and shows 0.I can browse some pages, but don't have full use of all pages like my CMSA admin, can log into my hosting using FTP, but can't access directories, Skype doesn't connect.Even stranger is it all works for a few seconds, even connecting Skype, but then stops again.I have completed a few system restores going back a week before the initial problem and still no joy!

View 3 Replies View RelatedYesterday my wireless internet just appeared to stop working completely, it has always worked fine up unti now!I have checked all the usual issues, it is nothing to do with my router as i can use other laptops/desktops to access the internet fine.I am using a Pavillion DV6-1215sa which has a Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g WiFi Adapter.It has full strenght but just says Limited Connectivity, so it is picking up the wireless network but wont actually let me connect to the internet via it.
I am able to access the internet when i hard wire the ethernet cable into my laptop, but the just wont work for wireless.I have tried lots of different suggestions so far, but still cannot access the internet.
When I browse or surf the internet with my computer, it causes the router to stop working on all devices connected to it. This includes my laptops, iphone, ps3 and other desktop. However, if I or anyone else connected to the router had a stream running on youtube, a file that is downloading, a game running online or voicechat with ventrillo, nothing happens to those processes. I just can't start a new download, or open a new tab, or start anything that requires internet connection.I've tried using different browsers, I've tried updating my computer, using different ports both on my computer and the router, shutting off all my firewalls, factory resetting my router and nothing works.I've narrowed the problem down to an issue with my computer as this would never happen to any other or device. This problem ONLY happens when I surf the web or view/open websites.The only way I can fix the problem is by walking up to my router and restarting the router (the router only) and waiting a minute for my computer to reconnect.I've noticed that the router stops working when I go to sites or links that have on screen popups of flash or java. When I check my network connection after the internet stops working, the rate of packets received becomes dramatically reduced.

I have 3 computers, 1 printer, a laptop and an xbox all setup on a NetGear N300 Router. the 3 computers and xbox are directly connected to the router. the printer and laptop are wireless.The Road Runner Modem is a CISCO Cable Modem DPC2100R2. Now when this random STOP happens... on programs like Teamspeak peoples voices cut out but then quickly catch up with themselves. On Black Ops PC and Xbox everyone freezes for a few seconds then catch up to themselves and I'll get a connection interrupted. I'd be asking friends around me to see if they got that "Connection Interrupted" and they say no. On Rock Band 3 I get randomly disconnected from the game with everyone asking what happened...When this STOP happens... my computer doesn't give me any error message like "Local Area Connection is unplugged" or anything like that. I've tried checking my CISCO modem's log and it shows no problems.Last week I swapped out the Road Runner Modem at their swap shops to see if that was the problem. Obviously it isn't. The Router I had before the NetGear did the same exact thing except it was a westell...I've tried directly connecting the modem to the computer and trying that to see if there was some kind of miscommunication between the router and the modem... same thing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the DIR-655 Hardware version B1, Firmware version 2.00NA and everything has been working fine for about 3 months. Lately the internet connection to all the computers would just stop. All the computers are connected to the router and the router is connected to the cable modem and their is no indication of a problem. The lights are all on and the router status shows the cable status as connected and the network status as established. I can't open any webpages, or all the ping would time out. It happens on all device, Windows Vista/7 PC, Mac computer, Linux laptop, and iPhone/ iPad. The problem gets fixed when I reset the router or just wait about 5-10 minutes and the problem goes away. That normally isn't a problem, but it's starting to happen twice a day now and it is really really annoying when I'm playing games. I tried the FAQ and searching the forums, but in vain.

View 5 Replies View RelatedYesterday I was on my cousin's computer, and we had to remove the ethernet cord to connect it to mine as my wireless adapter wasn't cooperating with his internet. This was all fine and dandy until we had to plug the ethernet cord back into his computer. It locks everything up. If you try to open a program, it won't open. If a program is already open when the cord is plugged in, it stops responding within 15 seconds.I called my brother, and he suggested I run a virus scan via Microsoft Security Essentials and MalwareBytes, which I did. MalwareBytes found 5 problems, MSE found 1 additional one. They have all been removed, however this problem still persists. If you try to start the computer with the ethernet cord plugged in, it will allow him to put in his password, it will say welcome for about 3-5 minutes, then the screen will go black. The mouse is visible, doing it's motion to indicate that it's loading something, but it never achieves anything.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just installed the X2000 and managed to get my Win7 Home Premium to connected to the Internet and also one wireless device. I previously had just a modem. Sometimes, when my PC is up and running, I want to disconnect it from the Internet and later connect again. There is an icon on the lower right of my toolbar which, with my old modem, allowed me to connect and disconnect but it seems to know only about the old modem. Basically it operated by starting the sequence: All Control Panel Items>Network Connections>Broadband Connection. Now this function does work; it tries to connect (through "WAN Miniport (PPPOE)") and gets "Error 651: The modem (or other connecting device) has reported an error". Can you tell me what where is the program that seems to start the Internet connection for the X2000 and if I can change parameters for the Win7 "Broadband Connection" to use the X2000? Perhaps the parameter "Connect on Demand" in the "Basic Setup" of the X2000 is involved?
View 9 Replies View RelatedFirst this is my setup, i have a 100x100 mb fiber pipe at a location i am working at. i am comming out of a cisco fiber router to ethernet. i am coming straight from the fiber switch to the computer at a 1gb connection. So my problem is when i try to upload to my ftp server via windows explorer i can never get about 1.5mb, but if i upload via command prompt it goes at about 60mb upload, so the pipe is good. So you say why dont you just use the command prompt, well i have specialized gear here that run xp emmbedded and it does this via the windows explorer. I have tried 4 other computers and they all do the same thing. I tried a UDP video stream and worked at over 10mb stream. but all the ftp uploads cap out at 1.5mb.
View 3 Replies View RelatedBasically i'm an employee of a Pro-Gaming team, and as a Job I stream games live, as well as upload game videos to youtube. I've been encountering a problem for a month or so now and had little success of fixing it, which is costing me quite a lot of money and viewers! Basically, I use a program called Xsplit to stream to a website called Twitch.tv (no-one else i've spoken to has the problem I have). I will randomly disconnect/reconnect instantaneously which puts my stream down for 5-10 seconds at a time, then goes back up again. Ultimately the viewing experience is ruined by this and I am on the verge of being replaced!The problem can occur either once a week or once every minute.. it just does it whenever it wants. I have 200mb/10mb internet so my upload should in theory not be an issue.
Things I have tried and done so far:
- Replaced the Ethernet Cables.
- Replaced the Routers.
- Bought a Network Card to try as opposed to my Motherboard port.
- Reformatted my computer and installed a different version of Windows 7 multiple times.
- Spoken to Twitch.tv and Xsplit about their programs as well as used multiple versions of the Xsplit client.
- Spoken to my ISP who say everything is fine.

My problem is whenever I upload anything, my modem disconnects. My USB Dongle is a Telstra Ultimate 3G Sierra Wireless AirCard 312U. The problem is not present whenever I connect the dongle directly into the USB port on my LapTop.
I have a DSL connection with AT&T. It is rated at 6Mbps / 768Kbps, but it closer to 4Mbps / 600Kbps. I have a speed stream 5360 connected to the DIR655. Devices on my network are primarily wireless and include; several laptops, a desktop (which is wireless n), a couple phones / Ipods and a Wii that I watch Netflix on.
I do a lot of Photography and a handful of video work, and backup / share everything online. When I am uploading photos, even with "conserve bandwidth" turned on in the uploading application, browsing sites is very slow, but reasonably functional. If I try to upload a video to YouTube, I can barely manage to do anything else the entire time it is uploading. I've tried to plan and run all my uploads overnight, but then Netflix is unusable when I want to watch it at night.
I've tried several different things, first off, with getting the Wii to function for Netflix, I turned on the QOS engine, for the IP that is assigned to it, and set it to priority 1 for all ports. I also have a entry in the QOS engine for SSH on port 23 with a priority of 10 because of how laggy my SSH sessions are. I do not have any other entries in the QOS engine, is that a problem? Should there be entries that cover other services and assign them a lower priority?
I have enable traffic shaping and Automatic uplink speed turned on. It measured the uplink speed at 695kbps, which is pretty accurate. I have Automatic Classification off, and Dynamic Fragmentation on. WISH is enabled also. I'm set to mixed n, g, and b, I'm not positive, but I do think my older laptops only use wireless b.
Even more importantly than the Netflix would be to allow me to use the Internet in a functional manner while I am uploading, that would solve a lot of problems. It seems that the uploads just hog every last bit of upload bandwidth and don't want to make room for even the small requests that one needs to send to view a web page.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently switched from a DSL ISP (Earthlink, Zyxel modem configured as a bridge, pppoE connect) to a cable ISP (Comcast, Arris cable modem, dhcp connect). Basically PC --> DIR615-->Cable modem-->Internets. With the old DSL the Internet activity LED (green, looks triangular) on the DIR615 blinked only when internet activity occurred. With the new Comcast connection it blinks non-stop about 5 times a second! Even if the PC is turned off it blinks. It stops blinking if I disconnect the ethernet cable between router and modem. The connection itself is fine, but if the DIR615 is doing something it should not be doing it might slow the connection down a bit, (or burn something out prematurely?)FYI, the Arris cable modem does not seem to be a router. It takes a cable connection from outside and provides a single ethernet cable and 2 (voice) telephone cables to the house.
