View 2 RepliesI have a annoying problem with my Dell L702x i5-2430M @ 2.4 and Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230. When I reach high downloading speeds (4-9mb/s) and have music on ( laptop speakers, using media player classic build version 1.5.2.3456) I hear some intense crackling sound from the speakers, but only when the music is on, whenever I pause the music the crackling stops. If I stop my downloads then the crackling sound disappears.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI currently have 6 CCTV cameras in my house, which are physically wired to a DVR. I can view these cameras through a monitor using DVI out. However, I would like to be able to view these cameras from anywhere I can access the Internet. The DVR that I have has an Ethernet port. Do I need to host a server to stream these cameras online, or can I simply connect the DVR to my router and then access the router through a static ip?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo this problem seemed to come out of nowhere, I have no idea why it started. Basically, when I use my internet, eg: opening link, loading video or downloading randomly my speakers make a grinding noise and until the noise stops (can be 1-10 seconds) my internet drops (the internet icon on the bottom right shows it is still connected but nothing loads until the noise stops. Even then, the noise can drop in and out like 10 times in a minute and is constantly messing up the internet.
my speakers are Logitech (doubt that makes much difference as I doubt the problem is linked to them and my LAN card is some Ralink thing, nothing special. Here is a low volume recording of the noise, turn up your speakers to hear it well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday my wireless internet just appeared to stop working completely, it has always worked fine up unti now!I have checked all the usual issues, it is nothing to do with my router as i can use other laptops/desktops to access the internet fine.I am using a Pavillion DV6-1215sa which has a Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g WiFi Adapter. It has full strenght but just says Limited Connectivity, so it is picking up the wireless network but wont actually let me connect to the internet via it.
I am able to access the internet when i hard wire the ethernet cable into my laptop, but the just wont work for wireless.I have tried lots of different suggestions so far, but still cannot access the internet.
When I browse or surf the internet with my computer, it causes the router to stop working on all devices connected to it. This includes my laptops, iphone, ps3 and other desktop. However, if I or anyone else connected to the router had a stream running on youtube, a file that is downloading, a game running online or voicechat with ventrillo, nothing happens to those processes. I just can't start a new download, or open a new tab, or start anything that requires internet connection.I've tried using different browsers, I've tried updating my computer, using different ports both on my computer and the router, shutting off all my firewalls, factory resetting my router and nothing works.I've narrowed the problem down to an issue with my computer as this would never happen to any other or device. This problem ONLY happens when I surf the web or view/open websites. The only way I can fix the problem is by walking up to my router and restarting the router (the router only) and waiting a minute for my computer to reconnect.I've noticed that the router stops working when I go to sites or links that have on screen popups of flash or java. When I check my network connection after the internet stops working, the rate of packets received becomes dramatically reduced.

View 1 Replies View Relatedmy internet would just at random STOP for like 2-3 seconds then catch up with itself. I have 3 computers, 1 printer, a laptop and an xbox all setup on a NetGear N300 Router. the 3 computers and xbox are directly connected to the router. the printer and laptop are wireless. The Road Runner Modem is a CISCO Cable Modem DPC2100R2. Now when this random STOP happens... on programs like Teamspeak peoples voices cut out but then quickly catch up with themselves. On Black Ops PC and Xbox everyone freezes for a few seconds then catch up to themselves and I'll get a connection interrupted. I'd be asking friends around me to see if they got that "Connection Interrupted" and they say no. On Rock Band 3 I get randomly disconnected from the game with everyone asking what happened...When this STOP happens... my computer doesn't give me any error message like "Local Area Connection is unplugged" or anything like that. I've tried checking my CISCO modem's log and it shows no problems.Last week I swapped out the Road Runner Modem at their swap shops to see if that was the problem. Obviously it isn't. The Router I had before the NetGear did the same exact thing except it was a westell...I've tried directly connecting the modem to the computer and trying that to see if there was some kind of miscommunication between the router and the modem... same thing.

Lately the internet connection to all the computers would just stop. All the computers are connected to the router and the router is connected to the cable modem and their is no indication of a problem. The lights are all on and the router status shows the cable status as connected and the network status as established. I can't open any webpages, or all the ping would time out. It happens on all device, Windows Vista/7 PC, Mac computer, Linux laptop, and iPhone/ iPad. The problem gets fixed when I reset the router or just wait about 5-10 minutes and the problem goes away. That normally isn't a problem, but it's starting to happen twice a day now and it is really really annoying when I'm playing games. I tried the FAQ and searching the forums, but in vain.

View 7 Replies View Relatedrecommendation for a PoE-compliant (802.3af) 10/100 ethernet switch suited for the following use. A client wants a separate [from their data] network dedicated to their new IP CCTV/IP Intercomm system (Stentofon ISO5 Cleanroom Certified). Total of 15 devices, all of which support PoE, 11 of which require it. The intercomm system will be the primary method of communication with personnel inside the clean space, so it must have minimum downtime.
1) 16x RJ45 (Only 15 devices -- anything over 16 ports is waste, SFP/expansion/combo ports not required)
2) *All* ports 802.3af PoE compliant, approx 5W load.
3) 10/100 (Gigabit not necessary, there's only 2 cameras and voice traffic is compressed)
4) Prefer rackmount but not necessary
5) Prefer Cisco/Cisco SB simply because I trust 'em (have an IAD and switch going strong for years with no downtime )
It has email and alarm notifications. But what about sound notification through PC speaker?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a PC that runs cameras covering the access to my house ( due to an earlier incident where someone thought my stuff would look better at their place ). It has been running fine with XP and a VIA C3 box for years, but the mobo died and so my woe begins...I have slapped together a D510 box with W7 32 Enterprise, but cannot get it to network properly. ATM it is propped on my dining table with Cat5 threatening to trip someone up, so I'm not really the flavour of the month in the house.
Regular file sharing ( looking at docs, pics, etc. ) is not a problem between the house PC and the CCTV box ( bidirectional ). The old CCTV box was controlled remotely using VNC with great success, and I was hoping to continue in the same vein. Unfortunately VNC cannot connect from the house box to the CCTV box, but will work the other way when initiated from the CCTV box, not very practical. UVNC will not work in either direction and will not loop back to itself, and Remote Desktop does not work either. Error messages are "server running as application" for UVNC and server unavailable ( words to that effect ) in VNC. Remote Desktop just times out. Firewalls on both machines have been off and on during testing with no apparent change. There is a Netcomm ADSL2 4 port modem that ties them together.
It should work, it did work, so I know it can work, but networks are not my strong suit so I am throwing it out for input here. I have been banging my head on this particular rock for about 10 hours and half a bottle of bourbon and it is 00:49 local time, so forgive me if I have failed to include the crucial nugget of information that will unravel this mess.Where should I start, or is there a no-fuss remote control software option for Windows 7 that I need instead?
