View 1 RepliesA user is trying to remote to her desktop with a small Dell Latitude netbook through remote desktop connection via a work VPN. Both her laptop and her desktop have working sound; however, when connected to her desktop through her laptop, no sound can be heard. It says there there are no audio devices detected. Obviously the drivers are installed on the desktop.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been testing my new DCS-942L and found that while the motion detection works great it is sometime hindered by the audio mic setting of motion detection. I have turned down the microphone settings to the lowest (10) and the only difference is miniscule. The camera will still set off the motion detection prior to anyone being in the screen, and if the person enters the screen immediately after the noise the camera will not record the movement.
I have adjusted the sensitivity down to 25% and continued having the issue. I would like to record motion with sound. So either the microphone needs to be able to be adjusted lower, or not set off the motion detector.
I didn't get a reply with this question lost in another thread so I thought I'd try again. As far as I can tell the 2121 has an extremely weak microphone. I can barely here it 'live'.
The biggest problem is that when I record it the the Main Console program I hear nothing on playback. Does anyone have a DCS-2121 camera that records sound properly so it can be heard on playback using the standard D-Link software program?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy router makes a clicking noise once in awhile.
I thought it might be other peripherals in my setup, but it is definitely the router. It sounds like it over heats at times and is the type of 'click' that is expanding or contracting.
Since upgrading to the WAG160N, my 2 sound bridges dont want to play properly. They see the network and ask for the password, which i key in, but they dont get any DNS/IP addresses.

It is giving me problems with VOIP/SIP Traffic. My SIP client connects fine and makes calls, but I cant hear any incoming/outgoing sound. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a annoying problem with my Dell L702x i5-2430M @ 2.4 and Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230. When I reach high downloading speeds (4-9mb/s) and have music on ( laptop speakers, using media player classic build version 1.5.2.3456) I hear some intense crackling sound from the speakers, but only when the music is on, whenever I pause the music the crackling stops. If I stop my downloads then the crackling sound disappears.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo this problem seemed to come out of nowhere, I have no idea why it started. Basically, when I use my internet, eg: opening link, loading video or downloading randomly my speakers make a grinding noise and until the noise stops (can be 1-10 seconds) my internet drops (the internet icon on the bottom right shows it is still connected but nothing loads until the noise stops. Even then, the noise can drop in and out like 10 times in a minute and is constantly messing up the internet.
my speakers are Logitech (doubt that makes much difference as I doubt the problem is linked to them and my LAN card is some Ralink thing, nothing special. Here is a low volume recording of the noise, turn up your speakers to hear it well.

I need a cheap router that can route between two ranges.
10.10.6.x
and
10.10.7.x
I don't want to use a PC with two network cards....I just need something cheap and simple.I was wondering whether any low to mid end consumer routers allows you to assign IP addresses for ethernet slots, or even create VLANs..?
I've got on-board LAN but I don't know how to use it. Am I meant to be able to surf the internet just like that if i have got on-board LAN???
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Internet is down. I appear to be getting power from the modem as all the lights are lit up. I have a wireless router. On my desktop I clicked on the Network icon and it said "3WIRE***" is in range but requires a Network Key (also called a WEP Key or WPA Key)? Could this be the problem? I've never had to enter a password to access my internet before. Do you know how I can find (or reset) my password? It's a D-Link router.

I have 4 computers with 3 LAN cards (1 onboard + 2 PCI) installed on each of the machines. One of the machines run Windows Server 2008 and other 3 run Windows XP. I am trying to simulate routing on these desktops. I have connected all the machines in a mesh topology. Please refer to the image attached. I am able to ping all the 3 machines from the server machine. However when I try to ping the machines from the client PC running XP, it is able to ping only one machine connected to it. All the network cards on the client machine running XP show that they are connected (in control Panel-> network connections). But ping packet shows only one host is reachable. The other two network cards(that are not able to ping other machines) are showing red light. I am not able to get over this.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am replacing our core router, which is a very old 7204VXR, with a T3 card in it. We are using it to terminate about 10 point to point T1's. It is also the central gateway for our entire network.
I am planning on replacing it with a 3845, and an NM-1T3/E3 card for my DS3. I think I've got that part worked out.
My real question is concerning future upgrades. We are trying to convert many of these point to point connections to Metro Ethernet, and get rid of the huge DS3 cost. When that happens, I'll probably have a handful of point to point T1's left over (maybe 2-6 of them). So, what I need is a good solution to terminate those 2-6 PTP T1's in my 3845. In the past I have just been using the old WIC-1DSU-T1-V2 cards to terminate my T1's. I am looking for a solution that won't break the bank. I looked at both the HWIC-4T1/E1 and the NM-8CE1T1-PRI cards (which terminate 4 and 8 T1's), but they are like $4,500 and $8,500 respectively. That's way beyond my budget for these. I definitley don't need a card that will do PRI's (DSP's etc.). I just need it to terminate plain old point to point T1's.
So it may be that I'm just looking at the wrong cards. Or maybe the make cards that will go in the back of the 3845 that will house 2, 4 or more WIC slots, and I could just use WIC-1DSU-T1-V2 cards?
I have installed LMS 3.2.1 and RPM(ATM technology) can be seen but not ML card(ONS). Also LMS discovered lot of interfaces (int vlan) one of the core switches and marked them as 'unreachable'. How can delete these when LMS marked as unreachable?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have network: 20 PC's conected to a switch (ordinary switch), from switch to a router (for DHCP and internet conection), Router is connected to a cable modem.
Lately an issue arised. One PC started having problem witch connection (PC is windows 7, up to date). PC instead of 192 addres is getting 169 (i need to highlight it is a problem with only one PC). That means the PC is connected to the Router but it is not getting proper IP addres. After changig the addres to static the connection ws fine for few days and then in networc connection icon (botom right) it came up with 'unidentified network' message. I changed the patchleeds, even changed the connection with known working line (from outlet to patchpanel) and the connection was coming and going. Then I changed network card with the same resoult. I noticed strange thing: While the IP is 169 or when 'unid net' when I unplug the cable from outlet then plug back and do so couple times in one moment the connection is back and stable but only for some period of time. Cables had been re terminated with new jacks and at the patch panel. Drivers for network card are up to date.
Why is the connection coming and going?
I'm currently volunteering at a children's group near me. They've just moved offices and are wanting a computer network in place. I have quite a bit of experience with hardware and software troubleshooting, but anything past the server is beyond me.They have a telecommunications box, as many places do, and the box has a set of patch boxes that are, according to the telecommunications people, plugged in and good to go. Each office has tunnelling on the wall with network sockets, again the norm.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy problem is that my XP network cannot access my Win7 server, but its not the same problem that has so many solutions around on the internet. Here is my situation:I have 2 networks in my office.
-Network1 consists of 3 WinXP machines connected via Router1 to Modem1 to the internet.
-Network2 consists of 7 64-bit Windows7 machines connected via a Switch to Router2 to Modem2 and then to the internet.
I also have a server machine running Windows7 64bit with two network cards. One NIC is connected to Router1, the other connected to the Switch. All of the above machines are all under the same work group: WORKGROUP..My Windows7 machines on Network2 can interact fine with the server. However, my WinXP machines cannot access the server "most" of the time, I've had a rare few occasions where it magically worked.
My onboard network adaptor card died so I bought a Rock USB lan Card RJ-45. It worked for 30 mins then just stopped working. When I look at the device driver details, it recognises it, and also says the drivers are up to date. When i try to connect to the modem for internet connection it says ....There might be a problem with the driver for the Local Area Connection 4 adaptor. A network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken....Ichanged the cable, still same message, I went to the internet on another computer to download drivers but it still says drivers are up to date. My system is a hp p6380a home pc. Running windows 7 64 bit. Im thinking that it might be a faulty usb card but when I spoke to a guy at a computer shop he said that they are not compatible with 64bit computers. Ok then why did it work for 30 - 1hour.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have found a great application that allows your PC to become a hotspot. It can also protect the wi-fi. Now remember whatever its your backend on the PC is what kind of network and speed you get such as, if my desktop connected through ethernet and I install the virtual router on the desktop than my laptop can connect to it depending on my Wi-Fi adapter on it. It could be B/G/N. B and G gives 54MBPS and N gives me 65MBPS.
