Speakers Make Buzzing / Hiss / Grinding Noise And Internet Drops Until Sound Stops
May 2, 2012
So this problem seemed to come out of nowhere, I have no idea why it started. Basically, when I use my internet, eg: opening link, loading video or downloading randomly my speakers make a grinding noise and until the noise stops (can be 1-10 seconds) my internet drops (the internet icon on the bottom right shows it is still connected but nothing loads until the noise stops. Even then, the noise can drop in and out like 10 times in a minute and is constantly messing up the internet.
my speakers are Logitech (doubt that makes much difference as I doubt the problem is linked to them and my LAN card is some Ralink thing, nothing special. Here is a low volume recording of the noise, turn up your speakers to hear it well.

I lost internet from the ISP and parts of our LAN went down.We were able to reproduce the error.Problem: Internet from ISP drops, program using port 10541 within the LAN stops communicating with a server. The computer and server are on the same switch, neither require access to the internet. How we fixed the problem, temporarily: Unplugged the power from the cable modem. How we reproduced the problem: Unscrewed the cable drop to the modem and powered it on.I have checked our firewalls logs and have seen nothing that stands out. I was able to ping the server from multiple computers, including the one that had the program running on it.Also while the internet was down, I tried removing the DNSs from the computer running the program, this made no difference.

Recently i bought a Cisco RVS4000, upgraded the firmware to latest stable release (Firmware Version: V2.0.2.7) and started configuring it.Yesterday i found out that as the dsl connection drops (i'm using PPPoE with an ethernet ADSL Modem) the product stops logging, both locally and to an external configured syslog (which resides on a linux box over the LAN).

I'm having an issue with a 2 week old WMP54G pci adapter. The behavior is as follows: I get a successful connection and excellent speeds, but every 10 seconds it stops transmitting and drops off the network for a moment. Then everything comes right back. 10 seconds on, drop, 10 seconds on, drop.I've investigated possible sources of interference, but there aren't any strong networks coming though on the same or nearby channels. Moreover, other devices sitting in essentially the same spot are connected consistently and show no variation in the signal strength.
Other info: OS is Ubuntu 10.10, the machine is a Dell GX270.

I have a Dell studio 15 with Windows 7 x64 and internal Bluetooth. I am trying to install Manhattan 2800 Bluetooth bookshelf speakers. They sometimes play but disconnect intermittently. When Bluetooth disconnects I have to completely shut down and start over. (I haven't been able to fix it with just Restart.) Here is a clue: In "devices and Printers" it shows the laptop as a device: Studio 15 [properties] Selecting: [Bluetooth L2CAP Interface] -- properties/General "Device status Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)" Selecting: [Bluetooth Hands free audio] -- properties Driver= Broadcom Corp, 7/1/2009,6.2.0.9500 Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware compatibility Publisher. The speaker documentation indicates Bluetooth v1.2, class 2 and A2DP protocol support The Bluetooth icon on the bar at the bottom of the desktop disappears when the connection breaks while looking at properties. This might be related -- I also have a Kensington Bluetooth trackball mouse that has intermittent problems with connecting at start-up. When the mouse doesn't work at start-up, I can usually make it work by removing its batteries and putting them back.
Q1 - Can my internal Bluetooth devices be updated or replaced?
Q2 - Otherwise, how would a USB based Bluetooth adapter interact with my current internal Bluetooth?

I just purchased a Netgear router and installed it like it said on the directions. I have internet through Time Warner Cable. I did have a crappy phone before I got the router and it made a popping noise on it too, but I got a new phone and it was fine. But after I installed the router the phone makes a popping/clicking noise and it will also disconnect the wi-fi signal and I have to restart the router.

I installed a wireless adapter on my pc and since then when I play a game online or watch something online there will be times when the sound will be weird and noisy for a slight second along with the slowed visual. Also I noticed that it awakes the wireless printer from sleep mode. Could it the wireless adapter be interfering with the wireless printer? I tried to adjust wireless antenna but it didn't do anything.

I've bought a new Cisco 886VA and want to set the noise-margin value. With my old 876 I had to set "service internal" and then I was able to configure the value unter ATM inter config.
But with the new 886VA I can't find a way to configure it.

I have been testing my new DCS-942L and found that while the motion detection works great it is sometime hindered by the audio mic setting of motion detection. I have turned down the microphone settings to the lowest (10) and the only difference is miniscule. The camera will still set off the motion detection prior to anyone being in the screen, and if the person enters the screen immediately after the noise the camera will not record the movement.
I have adjusted the sensitivity down to 25% and continued having the issue. I would like to record motion with sound. So either the microphone needs to be able to be adjusted lower, or not set off the motion detector.

I didn't get a reply with this question lost in another thread so I thought I'd try again. As far as I can tell the 2121 has an extremely weak microphone. I can barely here it 'live'.
The biggest problem is that when I record it the the Main Console program I hear nothing on playback. Does anyone have a DCS-2121 camera that records sound properly so it can be heard on playback using the standard D-Link software program?

I have an application, a solar power plant, where communication cables (Cat.6 UTP) are run close to power cables. We've had a lot of failures in the past due to multiple reasons, electrical noise, surge, etc so we decided to change to Cat.6 SFTP. The problem is that now , even with proper termination of the shielding at either one or both ends, the noise is so bad that packet loss is above 90%.

I have just replaced my 54Mbps Wireless-G router (Sky Broadband/Netgear - black, looks like a SkyHD box) with a 300Mbps Wireless-N TP-Link TD-W8960N router, I have also upgraded the the standard 3dBi antennas with a pair of TP-Link ANT2408CL 8dBi high-gain anetnnas.
However when using various WiFi analysis apps I'm getting a signal strength averaging -35dBm and noise of -96dBm when in the same room as the router. But the main bit confusing me is that this is in ALL configurations - with my old Wireless-G router, with the new Wireless-N w/ 3dBi antennas, and with the new Wireless-N w/ 8dBi antennas.
Am I misunderstanding the signal/noise thing or is this Wireless-N router not giving me a better signal at all? I plan on installing an identical setup in a property with patchy Wireless-G coverage next week and I was hoping this exact kit would be the solution.I have tested with two laptops and I am getting 130Mbps link with both, but I understand this is typical of laptop hardware. I don't have any devices with a certified 300Mbps card installed to test with.

Needless to say, I am very disappointed. why the linksys value should be so much lower?

I thought it might be other peripherals in my setup, but it is definitely the router. It sounds like it over heats at times and is the type of 'click' that is expanding or contracting.

It's fairly hard to explain what happens but basically, say I'm playing some type of online game, all of a sudden anything server sided such as HP amounts, damage amounts, etc. just disappears but the animation runs fine such as attacking being hit, etc. All of a sudden it'll jump forwards and I'll take any damage and do any damage that had been happening until the issue started. This happens constantly and it's really frustrating but on top of that my internet will slow to a crawl..Say I'm trying to send a message on Skype, it won't send for the longest time and I won't be able to recieve any or even open a new webpage until the problem fixes itself.'ve looked around a bit and thought I fixed the issue, I'm on wifi and multiple devices are connected but not always in use, and the forum I found suggested an ip conflict and said to open up command prompt release the ip with ipconfig /release and then renew it with ipconfig /renew.
