Unidentified Network Local Access Only?
Oct 29, 2012I have going up the walls the last week.Basically just moved house and got broadband installed, my girlfriends laptop connected automatically, whereas my Compaq CQ60 Presario Notebook WindowsVista will not connectI have checked so many different forums trying to fix this problem, but to no avail im afraid... it looks like there is an excellent internet connection.... but cannot go on the internet because it says "Unidentified Network local access only"

When it tested that it only gave me local access but not internet access. What else can I do to fix this? I use a netgear router WPN824N.

Nov 26, 2011I just replaced my wireless router. Wh? Now I'm not sure, I hoped a dual band router would give me better range. True or false?Regardless, I installed my new router but can only connect to my local network on my home laptop. However my work laptop connects to the same network and internet with no problem. SO does my husband's work computer.Any idea what the problem is? Other weird thing is that I have some random unsecured network that keeps popping up and my computer keeps automatically connecting. I've tried to remove it every way possible and it keeps coming back?

I already added one server for Static route and RDP but when I try to put in same commands it doesnt allow me to for this new one. My configuration file and what are the commands i need in order to put this through. Also, if there are any bad/conflicting entries. Also I have modified IP information so that its not the ACTUAL ip info for my server/network etc... lol for security reasons of course.Also the bolded lines are the modifications I made but that arent working. He is able to get the tunnel but afterwards he cannot connect to any service in the remote LAN. As I'm using zbf I think that I should inspect traffic from my LAN zone to EXT zone, There is a document that describe a solution to this? What IP adressess should I use?

I restored an old Vista laptop to out-of-the-box state to give to my Dad. This laptop had a wireless connection to the internet and network previously. After the restore, I can't get a connection to the internet, even though my router sees it and it has an ip address. It says Unidentified Network Local Access only, and it doesn't see any of the computers on the network. Sometimes the other computers see it but can't connect, sometimes, the other computers don't see it. I hate Vista.

All my other eight devices have an internet connection no problem, but I powered off the modem and router a couple of times with no change. I tried updating the Atheros to the latest driver on Toshiba's website for this model, but it doesn't seem to take. If I uninstall the old drivers, Windows rudely just immediately reinstalls them again. If I just update the driver, and pick the new file, the driver version remains the same as the previous driver. I'm banging my head on the wall with the driver

Sep 17, 2011My computer is running on Windows 7. It has had no prior internet connection problems. It is wired to my DV-2020 router. My internet suddenly disappeared, as in, it doesn't work anymore. I'm not sure as to when it disappeared due to my personal absence, but from what I heard it was either during 'starting a game' or 'installing firefox add-ons updates'. Internet does work on other computers sharing the same internet (wired and wireless). On the computer that does not have access to internet it gives a "local area connection - No Network Access" and "local area connection - unidentified network." So far I've tried:
A system restore.
Restarting the router (at home as well as the provider)
Changing wiring.
Disabling / Enabling.
Disabling virusscanner.

I have a LAN and a DMZ and an internet connection. I am using one of the internet connection IPs to host a HTTP service on a server in my DMZ. (its the same interface as my internet connenction but a different IP to the one used for internet connectivity)
so say my LAN is 192.168.1.x
and my DMZ is 172.168.1.x
I can access DMZ from Lan and vice versa. when i try to access the public IP (or URL) from a pc in my LAN i get nothing.
I have enabled DNS rewrite (doctoring) but it is still not working. the HTTP service is available from other sites.

HQ LAN
Branch LAN 10.2.1.0/24 >>> ASA 5510>>>>> 1841 >>> INTERNET <<<<<< 1841 <<<<<< 10.30.3.0/24 ^^^^ Call Manager 2851
Now can access from Branch LAN to HQ LAN each other. I face the problems that are
1) In branch LAN , they can access HQ LAN & resource , but cannot access internet. I didn't configure NAT on PH Router
2) Can I access internet from BRANCH LAN through HQ LAN to INTERNET. Or Can I access Internet from Branch LAN from PH Router directly while access to VPN to HQ LAN ?
3) In Branch Site , hard phone cannot work but soft phone on PC can call to HQ. Hard phone IP are same in Remote Network (172.16.1.0/24 ) . Is it problem ? how can I configure separately ?
Dell :: Inspiron 1545 - Connected To Wi-Fi Network But Limited (local) Access Available Only
Feb 15, 2012I recently took my Dell Inspiron1545 out of sleep mode and my wireless internet connection no longer works.i have tried power cycling the 2-wire modem and the Cisco Valet router and resetting as well. I also have another laptop and xbox that use this network and are having NO issues in connecting and working perfectly fine.
The only device not working is the Dell laptop. I've tried removing the network profile, uninstalling the wifi driver and reinstalling after powercycling the computer and still nothing but limited connectivity only The WLAN utility has stated that the "Gateway IP Ping" has failed Now the laptop will connect to internet via LAN cable however will not to WiFi

Feb 6, 2013I've been trying to set up my new Cisco 1921 Router to provide internet access to my local network but with no success. I've been reading guides and looking at videos and I have to be missing something becaouse I can't access internet (ping/tracert) from my local network.
The DHCP server works fine and the clients on my local network gets ip-adresses from the router but can't ping or tracert outside the local network.

Sep 7, 2012I have an EA2700 running latest firmware 1.1.38.138827. It is using Cisco Connect Cloud. I am unable to access the DHCP Reservations link under Connectivity/ Local Network. When I click on it, nothing happens. I've tried multiple browsers including IE 10 (Windows 8 RTM), Firefox 15, and Chrome 21. I also tried on a Windows 7 machine with IE 9 and the link doesn't work on that either except that it shows a box that says Invalid Character when I click on the DHCP Reservations link. I see no invalid characters on the screen. Any workaround other than downgrading the firmware or assigning static IPs on individual PCs?Also, on an unrelated note, where is the Dynanic DNS configuration on the Cisco Connect Cloud?

They asked me if I could give them a public address instead. They can not work with the 192.168.5 subnet. Is this possible?

May 18, 2011Abruptly internet access disappeared. It's a router issue, none of the computers here can connect. Further, I can't access the router through a browser - 192.168.0.1 results in a "Firefox cannot connect" message. I've tried resetting the DNS to no avail. I'm typing via cell phone and it's annoying, but I'm willing to try about anything.

However, the problem is, the exe file tries to connect to the local host ip address 127.0.0.1 and i cant change the ip since it's been coded.So, I'm wondering if i can use the device connection (which already has a different ip like 169....) as a local host connection. So whenever it tries to connect to the loopback 127... it automatically connects to the external device.

Apr 4, 2013i purchased vaio with win8. Under network icon, I can not see any other computers in the local network therefore not able to access shares unless i explicitly map the shares which is tedious.
On other computers running win7 and xp, each of them can see each other under network icon.However that is not the case with my laptop running 8. Actually i have seen once or twice all pc-s show up but most of the time, they dont appear.
I read somewhere that following service need to be checked to make sure they are running: upnp, ssdp in services. I checked those and they are all running.
I also enabled "turn on network discovery" under network and sharing->advanced sharing. setting. To make it more complicated there are private and public and all network setting. I enabled all items as follows:
1. Private Turn on network discovery is checked along with Turn on automatic setup of network connected devices Turn on file and printer sharing is selected Allow Windows to manage homegroup connections is selected.
2. Guest or public Turn on network discovery is selected Turn on file and printer sharing is selected.
With these settings I still dont see the local computers and their shares. Do I need to check anything else?

I had previously run it for 2 years without issue, but after returning from Sweden (where there was again no issue connecting wirelessly) I have often only been able to get local access. This isn't on all networks - my University library network works fine, for example, but my flat's personal network as well as my parents' network, as well as a local cafe which I had previously connected to fine, only get local access.
