Abruptly internet access disappeared. It's a router issue, none of the computers here can connect. Further, I can't access the router through a browser - 192.168.0.1 results in a "Firefox cannot connect" message. I've tried resetting the DNS to no avail. I'm typing via cell phone and it's annoying, but I'm willing to try about anything.

I set it up correctly and got connected, but suddenly I wasn't allowed Internet access. The router connects to my laptop, but won't get Internet access. I called customer service and he didn't know what to do. We tried everything he knew and nothing worked. I don't want to return the router cause I read it was very good, but I need internet for school. I have Rev. A and F/W 2.00.

I contacted my internet service provider, and no luck. I unplugged the router's power source and plugged it back it in. Still not working. I switched the power on and off. Nothing. I have gone into the web based set up page and under access controls have enabled and added this computer to the list. I have blocked http, https, ftp and nntp. I don't know if this is enough. The reason I am asking is that I am in Iraq right now and I want to allow my fellow team members access to the wireless for using viber on their iphones but one cat even though he has hardwired internet wants to continuously suck off my wireless for his computer to download stuff since I paid for faster internet. I am trying to do this quietly and still allow him access to the shared drives on the LAN. Sooooo If I block him just outright will he still have access to the drives or do I need to pick and choose like I did above and if I need to pick and choose did I miss anything other then pop3 email and imap?

My project involves 1 computer and a firewall. My goal is to use the firewall to allow access to the internet for that computer which uses a static IP 192.168.1.5 and ONLY for that IP address. The firewall is connected to the internet.
I have the computer hooked up to the firewall with the serial and using hyper terminal to enter commands. I think I need to use access lists in order to deny traffic on those ports for those particular hosts. I can't figure out exactly how I need to set it up.
What I need to do is permit internet access for 192.168.1.5 alone. Any other IP should not be able to access the internet.
I tried:
access-list 1 permit tcp host 192.168.1.5 any eq 80
access-group 1 in interface inside
I cannot access the internet using the computer with 192.168.1.5. The goal is to be able to access with that IP and no other.

What I'm trying to do is create a private network for local file sharing but also have internet access. There is a WRT54G router connected to a satellite modem in a separate building, just barely close enough to connect from my laptop, which is what sparked my original idea to use my WRT54GL as an access point.

- User should able to connect to the SSID without any authentication.
- Once user will connec to the SSID it should redirect to an external URL which indicates terms and condition and email address field.
- User should enter his/her email address in email addrss filed and click I accept button.
- Once that is done then he/she is allowed to access internet.
We are not sure how can we achive this as I do not know what should be the return value for WLC to allow that user to go through or what should be the settings on the WLC to redirect to the page.
I have seen a settings on web authentication for external URL but I guess it is only for username passwor or Radius authentication. While in this case I do not want to use any authentication just an accept buttor or Decline button and all good to go.
I have some issue with internet connection and Router WRT54G. There is always "Local Connection" but no internet access. I checked that at two different laptops. One with Windows Vista and the other one with Windows XP. Both the same problem. There is a wireless connection with excellent signal strength but no internet access. I added a screen shut to see the Router setting. If more needed I will add more.

The DHCP server works fine and the clients on my local network gets ip-adresses from the router but can't ping or tracert outside the local network.

I just set up my e2000 on a PC using Windows 7. I am additionally trying to set up additional devices on the network. The two that I am currently working with are:Dell Latitude d240 running Windows XP.HTC Evo smartphone running Android
I can't get these on the network through the e2000. They can access the internet through the e2000 but only as a guest and therefore don't have the same level of security. What do I need to do to successfully put the above devices on the network?
i bought a cisco 2950 series switch to play around with and im trying to set it up to SSH. I have google'd a bit on how to do this and i've sort of hit a wall... i have downloaded the cryptographic image from cisco's website, installed a TFTP server (think this is where my issue lies) but when i do the copy tftp flash global command i keep getting the error accessing "xxxx" message.I have tried allowing the server through windows firewall, disabling windows firewall, allowing access through the router..

I am currently connected to the one they changed to but local access only and no internet. Under Network and Sharing Center, it says: Unidentified network (Public network) Access: Local only Connection: Wireless Network Connection (perfectv) Under Internet Options, Connections , it shows the following connection: T-Mobile US Standard Modem When I try using the Windows Network Diagnostics, it keeps coming back with the options that havent worked. The options are: - Plug a cable into the network adapter Local Area Connection - Automatically get new IP settings for the network adapter Wireless Network Connection - A problem with your network router or broadband modem might be preventing an Internet connection Note: I am always able to connect to the internet wherever free wi-fi is available. If a password is required all I need is to obtain it and enter it without making any changes in the system. This is the only time Ive had issues getting online, even though I have the password.

I work remotely for my company through citrix access gateway and can open/access the internet from within the session but any attempt from a browser/program outside of the session times out...I am thinking this is blocked on purpose for productivity reasons, however I want to be able to access the internet from outside of the session so that accessing personal sites for example, gmail, won't be tracked by my company.Would it be possible to run a virtual machine and change IP addresses so access within the machine runs independently of my session?

It never says not connected though...it always says connected and excellent signal strength but when it won't access internet I can look at my modem/router and tell by the lights its not working even though it says connected. This time even though I reset everything like normal I still can't access internet. I thought it might have been my router so I went and bought a new one and still nothing. Doesn't work wireless or through local connection. Both say connected but nothing. When I do a diagnostic I get the DNS 0x2afc and HTTP 12007 errors. Both computers won't connect so I'm thinking it has to do with my actual router settings or modem.Both Windows XP and Windows 7 laptops won't work.
View 11 Replies View RelatedThis router was just purchased this past week. I have 1 laptop, 1 desktop, and 1 netbook that is connecting to this (along with various smartphones). Set it all up according to the booklet, and ran into some trouble. When connecting through wireless, I only have "Local only" on the older laptop and desktop PC, but full internet access through the smartphones and the netbook. But, when I connect through LAN with the laptop, I have internet connection (only through LAN, not wireless). I suspect this also occurs on the PC, but the two are no where near each other to attempt. I installed the latest firmware version to no avail, and had done a full reset on the router and reinstalled it.

The internet here is Local Are Connection, the one with the cable, and it says I am connected, 100 Mbps, but no internet access! I can't browse or open anything that has to do with the internet... I have a LAN and a DMZ and an internet connection. I am using one of the internet connection IPs to host a HTTP service on a server in my DMZ. (its the same interface as my internet connenction but a different IP to the one used for internet connectivity)
so say my LAN is 192.168.1.x
and my DMZ is 172.168.1.x
I can access DMZ from Lan and vice versa. when i try to access the public IP (or URL) from a pc in my LAN i get nothing.
I have enabled DNS rewrite (doctoring) but it is still not working. the HTTP service is available from other sites.
I configure for our office site to site VPN project. Now I configured already Site to site vpn between ASA 5510 and 1841 router.

Now can access from Branch LAN to HQ LAN each other. I face the problems that are
1) In branch LAN , they can access HQ LAN & resource , but cannot access internet. I didn't configure NAT on PH Router
2) Can I access internet from BRANCH LAN through HQ LAN to INTERNET. Or Can I access Internet from Branch LAN from PH Router directly while access to VPN to HQ LAN ?
3) In Branch Site , hard phone cannot work but soft phone on PC can call to HQ. Hard phone IP are same in Remote Network (172.16.1.0/24 ) . Is it problem ? how can I configure separately ?

Currently from the server location they configured everything by allowing our public ip to their server and gave the following details to access ftp.Please suggest which traffic needs to be allowed in our ASA to access the ftp server address as mentioned above. Some time yesterday the active ACE in one data center started refusing management traffic - it accepts SSH connections but fails authentication (local password, no RADIUS/TACACS is configured); and ANM reports it as down (no XML connectivity),We haven't opened a TAC case yet - someone's on his way over to see whether we can get in through the serial port first - but I'm wondering whether there are any other diagnostics we can gather (will resetting the module form the Sup force a coredump?) before we do.
