I am unable to access a certain website when I go through my router. I have by passed the router to see if that was the issue and I can access the website with just my modem hooked up.
View 2 RepliesI am having trouble getting the wrt610n to connect to the wnr2000v2 that can be set a wireless repeater. I had a 160n hooked up and it was working fine, but am unable to get the 610n going on it. setting this type of networking up , but have a general idea of how it works. I have the 610n running and is broadcasting a signal, but the wnr 2000 will not connect to it wirelssly and repeat it. The setup in the netgear is pretty basic , but I am new to the linksys 610n and the interface that's why I believe it has to do with the 610n.

I just got a foscam camera. I am trying to be able to connect to it from my phone while I am not home. I am having one hell of a time trying to connect to my router, I haven't been able to yet. I'd like to use it to back up the second computer to this HD.How do I get the second computer to recognize this as a backup target?Incidentally I've had problems getting HomeGroup setup since IPv6 is required for HomeGroup. For a long time now, my router has been running fine with my devices. Now all of the sudden, some devices(my xbox, 3ds, and phone) cannot connect to the internet despite them picking up the signal. The weird thing is, the computers in my house and my PS3 can connect. I also don't think it's my security settings(TKIP and AES hybrid) since they all functioned fine with that before this problem.
I tried unsecuring my network as a test, but it seems that only my phone can connect while my 3ds cannot. I haven't tested this with the 360 however. I also tried resetting my router to factory defaults three times.
Every 25 minutes, sometimes sooner, sometimes later but usually on the dot I get limited access and the router interface becomes inaccessible for about 1-3 minutes. My problem is my room mate has left for the week and the router is locked in there. I am unable to connect hardwired or power cycle the router. I have the password for the connect and I just got the PW for the router interface. I also have remote capabilities. I have been trying many things to stop it from being so slow and unstable but basically even though my signal reception is 4-5 bars I am only averaging 11mbps speed. I am using a b/g alfa 1w adapter but this shouldn't be the cause of the slower speeds. I can only achieve 1-3mbps down on speedtest.net whereas before I was getting 6-12mbps down.

Being limited by lack of power cycle and hardwired connect makes it a little harder. I know it's fixable without that though. Also there is no point of a hardwired connect unless I am upgrading the firmware (it already has the newest firmware by default) because I know it should work fine like that. I have tested connecting to other networks and I do not d/c on them. My own research has shown that setting a static IP resolves the issue. I am unfamiliar with exactly how to set this up for the router and the client and if it involves dealing with the ISP (Comcast)
I have a netgear VMDG280 router and my girlfriend has a DS.. her dumb DS doesn't understand any protocol apart None and WEP apparently..She has to go online with her DS to get some mystery gift on pokemon.. I am too old for this I swear. I poked around the settings but the Router appears to have come pre-configured and I cannot find any setting in the router admin panel to disable security.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm about fed up with with having this issue that no one can seem to solve. It dates back to when I owned a WRT54G router. I started experiencing random disconnects with the router, both wired and wireless. I only owned the router a year and figured it was going bad.
So I purchased this WRT120N router late August. Soon after I set the router up, low and behold the same problem started. I've called my ISP a couple occasions and they tell me that everything is fine from their end. I've spoken with Linksys tech support on 3 seperate occasions. I have changed the MTU to 3 different values and upgraded the firmware. The 2nd support tech suggested that I do those two things. To my surprise this worked for 2 or 3 weeks with no problem. The same problem started again just last night disconnecting intermittingly. I spoke with another support tech and they suggested that disable the SPI Firewall protection and Anonymous internet request. That did not work for the brief time I had this disabled.
More into the problem, when it disconnects the modem seems fine but the activity light on it stops as it should. The router itself appears to reboot, then when it comes back up the connection restores. What could possibly cause this? I currently have version 1.0.02.This is getting very frustrating and I am getting very near not using Linksys/Cisco products any longer.
I have two netgear routers: N300 WNR2000v2 and N150 WNR1000v3. Both routers have the latest firmware. All computers have window 7. I was wondering if it would be at all possible to set up one of the routers as a repeater?

According to the manual, when I go to edit my WAN connection, I should be able to enable/disable the SPI firewall. However, on my firmware I get no such option. My SPI firewall is always enabled.
I would like to be able to completely disable it when I'm testing so that I can ensure the firewall is not interfering with my tests.
I am using a Cisco 2801 Router and currently have Telnet enabled on all interfaces. How do I change that so it is enabled from all inside networks, but not on the outside interface?

I have a WNDR3700 (192.168.15.2) which work as an access point and it provide wireless access for wireless devices. I have few dhcp clients where i can't setup static IP, and i want to restrict them to use static IP through MAC reservation.
1. Make ASA5505 to do the MAC reservation f, which will be easy setup for me. But as per my search its not possible.
2. Disable dhcp on ASA and enable dhcp on my WNDR3700. i tired this and dhcp clients are getting IP from wndr3700, but the problem is dhcp clients gateway defaults to 192.168.15.2 (as well as dns) and therefore no internet connection.
My syslog is full of %ASA-4-106023: Deny tcp src outside:---- by access-group "inbound-acl" messages. I did not configure an explict deny for the access list to log these denies.how I can disable logging of denied connections?

I am managing a firewall setup with some ASA 5510's.One of the rules I have in the ACL list is to allow or deny (By disabling the rule) access to certain subnets.
I have a 3rd party vendor that from time to time need access to specific servers in the infrastructure, but I want to keep a certain level of control when they can access them and especially when they can not.
I know it works fine, I have done several tests to verify when they can connect and when they can not. But, now comes the tricky part, if they are already connected (Remote desktop) to the system, and I disable the rule, they are STILL!!! connected. It seems the firewall does not terminate the active session / cconnection when I disable the rule allowing them access..
Lately I encountered random Internet connection issues?My router is a Netgear Wireless ADSL Firewall Modem Router DG834 (Firmware V1.05.0) and my ISP, isn't the most reliable regarding bandwidth... All clients (max 3 at the same time) connect wireless.The problem is that the last few weeks my connections is very unstable, all clients lose the internet connection until you restart the router manually.I can't even connect to the webinterface (192.168.0.1), during the downtimes.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm in a bit of a predicament. Trying to set up a Netgear WNDR3700 behind a SonicWall TZ170 SP (Standard OS). The only thing I really want the SonicWall to do is maintain site-to-site VPN connections to a few other networks that I work with.
The SonicWall WAN is passing Internet connectivity to the LAN ports as it is supposed to but the hangup seems to happen at the Netgear; it doesn't seem to want to receive Internet connectivity from anything but a modem and it doesn't want it going to any port but the Internet port (IE, it doesn't seem to want to share Internet via the switches).
I'm thinking this may be a limitation of the firmware and that dd-wrt might be the only answer but I thought I'd bring it here first as my last experience with dd-wrt wasn't a good one.
I have a MI-FI dongle which i use to connect to the internet (small wireless router) It does not support a wireless printer though. So I figured IU would use the old BT Home hub I had to connect my computer and the printer.
This worked for a few minuites untill the computer decided that the home hub should be dominent and instead of accesing the internet the browser would show the bt cannot conect to the internet page.
