I just got a foscam camera. I am trying to be able to connect to it from my phone while I am not home. I am having one hell of a time trying to connect to my router, I haven't been able to yet. I am using port forwarding, have followed all kinds of instructions I found on the web, and none work. I cannot get port 80 to open. I have a net gear wnr2000v2.

For a long time now, my router has been running fine with my devices. Now all of the sudden, some devices(my xbox, 3ds, and phone) cannot connect to the internet despite them picking up the signal. The weird thing is, the computers in my house and my PS3 can connect. I also don't think it's my security settings(TKIP and AES hybrid) since they all functioned fine with that before this problem.
I tried unsecuring my network as a test, but it seems that only my phone can connect while my 3ds cannot. I haven't tested this with the 360 however. I also tried resetting my router to factory defaults three times.
Every 25 minutes, sometimes sooner, sometimes later but usually on the dot I get limited access and the router interface becomes inaccessible for about 1-3 minutes. My problem is my room mate has left for the week and the router is locked in there. I am unable to connect hardwired or power cycle the router. I have the password for the connect and I just got the PW for the router interface. I also have remote capabilities. I have been trying many things to stop it from being so slow and unstable but basically even though my signal reception is 4-5 bars I am only averaging 11mbps speed. I am using a b/g alfa 1w adapter but this shouldn't be the cause of the slower speeds. I can only achieve 1-3mbps down on speedtest.net whereas before I was getting 6-12mbps down.

Being limited by lack of power cycle and hardwired connect makes it a little harder. I know it's fixable without that though. Also there is no point of a hardwired connect unless I am upgrading the firmware (it already has the newest firmware by default) because I know it should work fine like that. I have tested connecting to other networks and I do not d/c on them. My own research has shown that setting a static IP resolves the issue. I am unfamiliar with exactly how to set this up for the router and the client and if it involves dealing with the ISP (Comcast)
I am unable to access a certain website when I go through my router. I have by passed the router to see if that was the issue and I can access the website with just my modem hooked up.

I had a 160n hooked up and it was working fine, but am unable to get the 610n going on it. setting this type of networking up , but have a general idea of how it works. I have the 610n running and is broadcasting a signal, but the wnr 2000 will not connect to it wirelssly and repeat it. The setup in the netgear is pretty basic , but I am new to the linksys 610n and the interface that's why I believe it has to do with the 610n.

The modem lights up, the internet light flashes then goes green and the connection to the PC is lit. My PC wont see the modem - when I type 192.168.0.1 it cannot access the Netgear setup page. However several days passed and I started to notice the speed was decreasing; because I have HughesNet (I hate it) I thought this was the ISP's fault and called them and they said my speed had not gone down. During the day, the signal is fine and is at full bars and the speeds are OK. During the evening/night hours the connection becomes faulty and the laptop will disconnect from the network altogether. If I plug the ethernet cable directly into the router, the speed is OK also. I have taken the security off the connection to see if it will make any difference; it doesn't. View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been using a second-hand PC for the past year. It has had persistent issues connecting to my WiFi. Other computers in the house connect without difficulty.At first I thought the dongle was responsible, so I replaced it with a more expensive one -- Netgear WNA1100. Symptoms vary, but it typically disconnects without warning, sometimes followed by announcing that the USB device is not recognised. Sometimes this can be solved by removing the dongle and inserting it in a different port, though the port itself does not seem to matter. At other times, I've had to uninstall and reinstall the driver software. Exasperating, obviously.
It is crashing my machine.Last week my hard disk died (or so the man in the computer shop told me). Because I only need this machine for my PhD work, I chose to replace the hard disk with one that was left over from an upgrade (cheaper and theoretically adequate -- I have a 12-month warranty for it). All the other hardware was checked before leaving the shop, XP reinstalled etc.Yesterday I got the computer back and started reinstalling various software. But the wifi stopped working, so I reinstalled again, and during the process my machine 'stopped' -- this was a blue-screen event and the next restart failed.the machine started again today, and connected to my network. But then the machine crashed again.
So far I have:
-- run an antivirus check (nothing)
-- updated the driver (once I got online)
-- run a disc check (using the 'Automatically fix file system errors' on C:/ drive, this involved a restart)
-- began running a full system check ('Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors') but the last crash happened during phase 4
-- the Microsoft error reports have produced nothing
So I'm at a loss. There seems to be no point reinstalling any more software till this is sorted.[Obviously I will be taking it back to the shop if I can't resolve myself since there's also a new issue with the system audio.]Here's data sent with the error report from the first crash:
