May 12, 2012I want to connect a Netgear FS605 directly to my ADSL router.However I find that this does not work unless I put my Netgear EN2005 Hub in between the Switch and the Router.The Hub is 10Mb/sec the switch 100Mb/s so I would like to eliminate the hub.

You can also print to the wireless printer in that room via that wifi modem being local. However, I can no longer print to the wifi printer from anywhere else in my network (I could before I got a new router and wifi modem in there).Would this be a problem with this Switch or with the modem e.g.

Mar 11, 2012I have a functioning wireless network at home, but I can't get my computer to connect to the internet. I bought a new wireless usb adaptor (Netgear N-150, WNA1100VC) and tried to install it. The computer at first connected to the internet, but the next day it did not. I unistalled the software and tried to reinstall it, but I got an error message saying the driver was not digitally signed and I should contact the provider. I have done this, and Netgear have given me instructions on how to fix. The problem is that now when I packed up my computer and re-assembled so I can plug the ethernet cable directly into it, I still can't connect to the internet.I get a message saying I'm connected to the wireless network, but can't connect to the internet.When I click on the "Diagonose Problem" it says the following:Windows Network Diagnostics Window.There might be a problem with one or more network adaptors on this computer
1. The network adaptor "Realtek RTL8168C (P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)" is experiencing driver or hardware related issues
2. Make sure your internet protocol bindings are correct - Ensure that "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)" are selected in the configuration for the network adaptor "Local Area Connection"[code]

May 8, 2011We recently connected the Netgear WNR2000 to our modem. All wireless devices connect just fine, except for our Roku XD. It says there is an activation error. I've reset the box, unplugged, changed the channel via wireless settings. What's next??? I'm quite frustrated and would like to get this to work. The message I get is "activation issue. There was a problem connecting to the Roku server". Argh!! It was working fine with the other wireless modem/router (versalink 327W), but it kept going off (as in the signal would drop and we would have to turn it off/on to get it to work) and connected the netgear router to it today.

We have 10 desktops, 3 laptops (sometimes more) 4 printers/fax, etc.etc. I have just ordered a new HP Pavilion Slim-line S5000 Series with Windows 7 Pro. I cannot get it to connect to the Network. I have set up the server (which runs windows server 2008) with an account called "communications" I have named the computer "communications". I go to the system and security>system: computer name,domain, workgroup settings>change settings. I enter all the information correctly, and it tells me it cannont find the network path. This is happening on this brand new computer, and our old dell optiplex 760 (running windows vista pro). We use a netgear pro-safe 24 port 10/100 switch hub, and a linksys wireless G broadband router model WRT54GS.

Jan 29, 2011I just bought a new Netgear N300 router to go along with the Mediacom cable internet I just signed up for. I can plug the ethernet cable straight from the modem into my computer and get internet. Unfortunately this only works after I run the windows diagnostic to correct the errors that wont allow me internet access (unable to connect to IP address, lack of DNS server) but eventually I get access. The instruction then tell me to run the ethernet from the modem to the router and then another cable to my computer from the router. When I do this, I lose all internet access. I thought I just had to instal the router using the provided disk but it never gets past the internet connection test.I have tried to provide the correct IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and dns servers like requested but clearly I am messing something up.

I have DSL Sprint modem that works fine when directly wired to either laptop. A friend gave me an old Netgear Wrt54g wireless router he had laying around so I could connect both laptops to the internet. I cannot do this wired or wireless. When I try wired the internet doesn't work. When I try to do it via wireless the new Windows 7 laptop says it isn't compatible. Any way to get this to work either way on both? Or do I need to pick up a new router. Also, I would prefer a wired connection so any recommendations for a wired router that will work with this setup.

I recently had virus infections removed from someone who used AVIRA and MBAM (malaware anti bytes)
edit I tried to disable the autoscaling feature in windows and it did not work /I am running windows vista home 32bit/I can connect to the router now I had the wrong security type selected WPA instead of WPA2, but it still reports local only, I checked my router logs and it shows that it connects but it does not give me information on if it is blocking the laptop from the internet or if my laptop is. I have tried turning off the windows firewall and resetting it as well now.
I have tried the things listed below
- uninstall and reinstall windows wireless adapter drivers through computer managment
- disablied IPv6 through wirless adapter properties (unchecking the box)
- reset my rounter entirely (after which I can no longer connect to the router at all, where as before I did this I was able to connect to my router but it was local only) held the reset button for 10 or more seconds plus unplugged my modem and router for 5 mins, I know its alot of time for that but I was eating but regardless, after which I turned on my modem let all the lights go through their setup then I turned on the router let all the lights do their thing, and then my laptop to make sure everything picked up new settings.
-something threw me off also under computer managment under the network adapters there were ipv6 to ipv4 "tunnels" or something, they had the yellow warning sign on it.
