Sep 19, 2012I just got a foscam camera. I am trying to be able to connect to it from my phone while I am not home. I am having one hell of a time trying to connect to my router, I haven't been able to yet. I am using port forwarding, have followed all kinds of instructions I found on the web, and none work. I cannot get port 80 to open. I have a net gear wnr2000v2.

Jun 21, 2011I am using the WNR200v2 for wireless and with a powerline adapter where should I set my speeds, 54Mbps, 145Mpbs or 300Mbps? Are there any other settings I should changeI have a road runner cable modem with 10Mbps download. I am streaming wireless to a PS3 slim 160gb, WDTV LIVE HD media streamer and a Directv HR24-500 DVR. I am using a powerline adapter kit to stream to a Boxee Box another media streamer. Most of my streaming is from the internet but, I occasionally will download something and then stream it from my HDD to one of my media streamers. My wireless signal only needs to travel about 30 ft. and the same for the powerline adapter

I'd like to use it to back up the second computer to this HD.How do I get the second computer to recognize this as a backup target?Incidentally I've had problems getting HomeGroup setup since IPv6 is required for HomeGroup. I assume the problems are because the router isn't IPv6 compliant. I've tried the Microsoft Fixit 50410 (Use IPv4 instead of IPv6 in prefix policies. I've also reverted using Microsoft Fixit 50440 (Enable IPv6).

For a long time now, my router has been running fine with my devices. Now all of the sudden, some devices(my xbox, 3ds, and phone) cannot connect to the internet despite them picking up the signal. The weird thing is, the computers in my house and my PS3 can connect. I also don't think it's my security settings(TKIP and AES hybrid) since they all functioned fine with that before this problem.
I tried unsecuring my network as a test, but it seems that only my phone can connect while my 3ds cannot. I haven't tested this with the 360 however. I also tried resetting my router to factory defaults three times.
Netgear WNR2000v2 Disconnects / Unresponsive Every 25 Minutes?
Jul 5, 2011Every 25 minutes, sometimes sooner, sometimes later but usually on the dot I get limited access and the router interface becomes inaccessible for about 1-3 minutes. My problem is my room mate has left for the week and the router is locked in there. I am unable to connect hardwired or power cycle the router. I have the password for the connect and I just got the PW for the router interface. I also have remote capabilities. I have been trying many things to stop it from being so slow and unstable but basically even though my signal reception is 4-5 bars I am only averaging 11mbps speed. I am using a b/g alfa 1w adapter but this shouldn't be the cause of the slower speeds. I can only achieve 1-3mbps down on speedtest.net whereas before I was getting 6-12mbps down.
-UPnP Off.
-NAT Firewall Open.
-300mbps Max
-Channel 1 no other channels within 5 channels near it.
-WPA2-PSK [AES]
-Default MAC Address
-Automatic Configuring of all IP Addresses
-MTU 1500
-WMM On.
Being limited by lack of power cycle and hardwired connect makes it a little harder. I know it's fixable without that though. Also there is no point of a hardwired connect unless I am upgrading the firmware (it already has the newest firmware by default) because I know it should work fine like that. I have tested connecting to other networks and I do not d/c on them. My own research has shown that setting a static IP resolves the issue. I am unfamiliar with exactly how to set this up for the router and the client and if it involves dealing with the ISP (Comcast)

I had a 160n hooked up and it was working fine, but am unable to get the 610n going on it. setting this type of networking up , but have a general idea of how it works. I have the 610n running and is broadcasting a signal, but the wnr 2000 will not connect to it wirelssly and repeat it. Jul 30, 2011I am having almost an Identical issue. It seems that I can do anything I want on the internet, but the second I open hotmail all the problems start. Issues occur on both FF and IE. As with you I am able to continue to get some information on sites that are currently open (for example I will get incoming IMs, although I cannot send replys, and my stream on facebook continues to update). Once this happens I cannot open any new webpage or use the wireless on ANY other device in my house (iphones and printer); wired devices seem to have no issues. I have done everything as far as resetting, updating firmware etc to my router with no luck. I have a netgear dual band router, computers with Windows 7 64bit. It seems that accessing Hotmail on the iphones does not trigger the same issue...

I have a WR842ND with firmware 3.12.22 Build 120424 Rel.39632n. I can't seem to get the mail log emailed out. I've tried hotmail, gmail and ISP email ids. I know these will work as I've done it with my NAS and other routers. When I'm in the System Tools/System Logs/Mail Settings I have authentication enabled and I know I've put in the proper information including mail server outgoing mail names EG. smtp.live.com for hotmail.
I don't see any place to identify a non standard port IE. not port 25, to use. So when I try to send I get the Userid or password is wrong message. Do I have to configure something else.

Nov 9, 2011On my new 942l, after 5 days of usage and tinkering with various settings, I cannot get the camera to obey the trigger=motion when configured to send snapshots over email. It does work when configured to send snapshots over email with trigger=always.Interesting enough the trigger=motion works just fine to upload snapshots to FTP. Yes, it uploads the pictures correcty on FTP detecting correctly movements, but it would not send those over email. To me it looks like a bug in the firmware that I have now a 100% repro.Are there any logs you want me to send to you for debugging?And : Is there a known workaround I can apply (reboot, resetup etc)?
Detailed description of the problem:I have setup the camera to upload snapshots to FTP AND send them over email for trigger=motion.This is what works : the snapshots are nicely uploaded on FTP , but not sent over email.Interesting : if I set trigger=always, snapshots will both be uploaded to FTP and sent over email. The moment I switch back to trigger=motion they go only to FTP and not over email.Even more interesting : the video clips work correctly with either email or FTP for trigger=motion.
What could cause this?The email (account, port, password) and FTP settings are definitely not a problem since I see pictures/videos in email or FTP with trigger=always.The motion settings are not a problem either since snapshots upload correctly on FTP when movements are detected.What it apears to be is the software is not reading or obeying correctly a certain combination of settings.I'm wondering if it has to do with the fact that for video clips the "email" and "ftp" are exclusive, but for snapshots they are allowed simultaneously. And somehow the logics get mixed up causing certain combinations of settings to now act out?
What else I tried?I tried many reboots, unplug followed by plug back in and so on.I tried saving and restoring the settings to/from a file hoping that will "reset" something.And I tried many combinations of settings, including changing the order I set and unset hoping a different code path that works will be hit.I did not try a restore to factory defaults since I installed the camera in a hard to reach place and if I restore to factory defaults i need to take it down connect it to a cable in order to redo the wifi settings.

Jun 2, 2012Motion detection is setup - and I can see in the log and on the Live Video "Motion Trigger Indicator" that this part is working. I can also send test-emails, so the smtp is set up correct. In the Event Setup I have a valid server and a motion triggered event with the status ON. But no emails are sent . In the log there is also no indication of the server trying. Am I missing something - or is this not working for anybody?
And - there is no firmware beyond 1.0 for this model as far as I can see.
