View 5 Replies View RelatedMy wife has a COBY 10" netbook running Windows X home SP3., we use a NETGEAR N150 Wireless Router and for some time now, whether she boots from a cold startup or "wakes" this laptop, it has lost the network connection. It gets the "Wireless networks detected" message, sees our Security-enabled wireless network, but instead of automatically connecting, it always asks for the network key. I have a second laptop (Toshiba Qosmio) that I only use some othe time, primarily for vacations, and when I turn this on it always connects right to the network, even if we've been away and connected to a hotel network. I never have to use the key for our home network once I get back home.
She's getting pretty fed up having to constantly put in the network key on the COBY, this should be a "set it once" and it should remember it should it not? I'm sure it used to, have I missed something?
I've got an Optus (in Australia, so 3G mobile broadband is all that matters I would think) that I'm trying to connect to a Netgear WGR614v9 wireless router. So the 3g mobile plugs into usb on computer; the router to the ethernet card on computer.
I know; I could buy one that has it in one package, but we're throwing the router out from work anyway. If this works my daughter will be thrilled with her iPod more is all :)
I've got the mobile broadband on, and plugged in the router and Windows 7 makes a second network connection automatically for the router, though with no internet access, and the setup wizard in the router claims to have no access to the internet. (though clearly I'm posting...lol).
We can see the Wireless signals on devices and can connect to the router but then the devices say no internet access when you actually try to access the web, like the router wizard does. and yet, we are online
I am trying to connect a wireless router (EDIMAX br-6228nc) with a ADSL router (NETGEAR). i assigned the LAN IP of the ADSL modem to 192.168.1.1, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, and enable DHCP server.then i connected a LAN port from ADSL router to the WAN port of the wireless router. i assigned IP of the WAN port of wireless router to 192.168.1.10, subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 and default gateway to 192.168.1.1 now on the LAN side of the wireless router i assigned IP 192.168.0.1 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0 enabling DHCP server.on the client pc i selected the setting of automatically assign IP setting (which it got 192.168.0.100, default gateway 192.168.0.1) but my client pc is not able to access the internet.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using a second-hand PC for the past year. It has had persistent issues connecting to my WiFi. Other computers in the house connect without difficulty. At first I thought the dongle was responsible, so I replaced it with a more expensive one -- Netgear WNA1100. Symptoms vary, but it typically disconnects without warning, sometimes followed by announcing that the USB device is not recognised. Sometimes this can be solved by removing the dongle and inserting it in a different port, though the port itself does not seem to matter. At other times, I've had to uninstall and reinstall the driver software. Exasperating, obviously.
It is crashing my machine.Last week my hard disk died (or so the man in the computer shop told me). Because I only need this machine for my PhD work, I chose to replace the hard disk with one that was left over from an upgrade (cheaper and theoretically adequate -- I have a 12-month warranty for it). All the other hardware was checked before leaving the shop, XP reinstalled etc.Yesterday I got the computer back and started reinstalling various software. But the wifi stopped working, so I reinstalled again, and during the process my machine 'stopped' -- this was a blue-screen event and the next restart failed.the machine started again today, and connected to my network. But then the machine crashed again.
So far I have:
-- run an antivirus check (nothing)
-- updated the driver (once I got online)
-- run a disc check (using the 'Automatically fix file system errors' on C:/ drive, this involved a restart)
-- began running a full system check ('Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors') but the last crash happened during phase 4
-- the Microsoft error reports have produced nothing
So I'm at a loss. There seems to be no point reinstalling any more software till this is sorted.[Obviously I will be taking it back to the shop if I can't resolve myself since there's also a new issue with the system audio.]Here's data sent with the error report from the first crash:

View 2 Replies View RelatedIve been having problems with the Wireless connection on my laptop for a while now. Basically even though the signal strength is shown as excellent and hovering over the little monitor in notification area shows "Internet access" i cannot connect to the Internet via WiFi. The strange thing is when i connect an Ethernet cable the signal strength on the bottom goes up and i get Internet access but the computer seems to think its got a wireless connection, even though its actually a wired connection. Ive already tried the following
Driver Update
Windows Update
AntiVirus/Malware Scan
Firewall/Anti Virus Off
Ethernet Connection Disabled and Enabled
Changed router channel
reset wep key numerous times
Network Scan (no problems found)

On the TV we have three differant ways for the tv to locate the router they are by scanning, the WPS button and by entering the WPS pin. We've tried all three and got the above message.

I am running an i7 MSI gt683 with windows 7 with an Intel Centrino Wirelss-N 130. My home wifi connection runs off of comcast on a netgear router, and the wireless connection works on every single device in the house except for my laptop. I can run my ps3, my wii, we have an ipad, all our phones can connect and we have another laptop that connects with no issue. I have updated my drivers for my wireless card to the latest, flushed the ip on my desktop that the modem is connect to a dozen times. The only way to sometimes fix it is to manually log in to my router and release/renew the ip address from there. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't. When it does work, it will work for about a week and then stop working for no reason at random times. The errors I keep getting are:Identifying network (which runs infinitely before cycling back to no internet connection)Connected with no internet access.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a netgear CVG834G main router, were my desktop is plugged on to.I pulled a new cable trough the house and garage to have internet access on the other side (cable length is about 80 meters). After the 80meters of cable I placed a Linksys WRT54GS v5.1 router. The problem is that I can connect to the Linksys, but the Linksys cant connect to the netgear. On the Linksys the internet LED is blinking very slowly (what does this mean?). So first I thought that the cable was broken or too long. I tested the cable => not broken. I connected the Linksys with the netgear trough a shorter cable and then connected my laptop via the long cable (80meter) and this works perfectly. Is the maximum distends a netgear can take less than 80 meters? (thought is was 100meter ).

View 10 Replies View RelatedI purchased an XPS-17 Laptop from Dell, which was delivered last week. This system includes the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 wireless network card. I also purchased the Netgear Push2TV HDTV wireless adapter on the advice of the Dell customer representative. The representative assured me that the two functions were compatible, and that all I needed to do was to have the network card search for new networks. Unfortunately the network card does not "see" the Netgear module, only the wireless LAN operating in my home. The Netgear Push2TV is connected to the TV via HDMI, and the TV displays the Push2TV setup screen indicating that it is waiting for a connection from a network card.
I have spoken with Dell Tech Support with no success. First of all the Tech Support representative had no knowledge of the wireless TV display capability, let alone the Netgear Push2TV device, thus did not know how to diagnose the situation, neither did her supervisor. I authorized remote access into the computer and they tried all they knew how to do with no success. Finally, after 2 hours, I was told that Dell was aware of an incompatibility issue between the two devices, and that I should just wait until it was resolved by Dell and/or Netgear in "one or two days". After hanging up, I realized that I had not been given a Case Number, thus had no record of the call.I have been checking the Drivers/Downloads site daily, but find no new releases that are not already installed on the computer.
My PC can't seem to keep the wireless connection for longer than a few seconds without it trying to reconnect and eventually drop again. Other family members' PCs don't seem to have this problem and my laptop also has a stable connection.
I used to have no problem connecting, but this problem arose one day. My house uses Verizon FIoS, the router is a Netgear R3600 and my PC uses AVG.
The picture has the signal showing up, but then it disappears seconds later only to reappear again.
how to connect 2 routers that both have an ADSL connection. When attempting this the Belkin router will lose the ADSL connection after a random amount of time.

I JUST did the speedtest, and it came back with .4 mb/s, and the UL speed was 2.0. I honestly can't remember what I averaged with it prior to the problem, but it was definitely higher as well
