I have Windows XP installed, I can connect to the LAN network but I cannot go online. I can ping the gateway but not the DNS as well as other address name or ip address. I have a new 3560G to set up a small network for a remote site. I configured the vlan and an SVI as the gateway. The switch is also the DHCP server for the LAN. View 5 Replies View RelatedI set this up and I can ping all the gateways but never the hosts. I was hoping I could make these links between 6500's a mix of L2 and L3. Check it out. They are connected in a linear fashion R1--->R2--->R3. I can ping from R1 to R3's SVI4 gateway but I can never ping a host on that SVI4. I was hoping that I could use the port-channels between 6500's as routed links or as trunk links depending on the type of traffic....thought it would ease the migration. I suppose I could always get rid of the port-channels and just make separate L2 and L3 links between the 6500's.

I have a WRT54GS which works fine with Linux both from both wired and wireless computers using Linux. But I reinstalled Win XP and now I can't reestablish a connection following the EasyLink advisor. I did have a connection under Win XP before.
The last instruction on the Easylink advisor tells me to look for something marked "local" I don't find that word on the screen.
I installed window server 2003 in a old Pentium III server as a standalone test server. Now I want to use it as a print server and connected it to the domain. I can ping workstations and other servers from that test svr. But i cannot ping that test server from the work stations.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi am trying to use ApexDC++ using a wifi router for local LAN sharing.The problem is that when i connect the LAN cable on LAN port of the router i am able to connect to local HUB but at the same time unable to connect to internet. And when i connect the LAN cable on internet port of the router i get connected to the internet but unable to connect to local HUB for LAN sharing.I have tried port forwarding also but of no use.
The ip details provided for local LAN sharing is,
LAN IP - 192.168.100.3 - 192.168.100.xxx
Subnet mask - 255.255.255.000
Default gateway - 192.168.100.1
This is the configuration on the LAN port of my wifi router. Where as when i connect the LAN cable on the internet port of router, it takes the ip automatically from server (DHCP) which is not the same as ip detail provided for LAN sharing hence unable to connect to local HUB. If i try to configure the internet port of the router with above configuration i am unable to connect to local HUB as well as internet.I want to connect to local HUB while connected to internet using a wifi router.I don't find any problem while connected directly. I have an broadband connection which does not need a modem to access, i get the CAT5 inthernet cable from the provider. In case if i use it directly on my PCall i have to do is provide username and password under PPPoE and internet works like a breeze.
Now i try to use this 3040 device to use as an wireless router so that i can access internet on multiple devices. How to configure this. I tried in all the three switch options provided with no result at all..I am now using a traditional router from which i connect to Tplink 3g router and using wireless under Access point option...But i would like to use it directly as i can get battery back up so that even when there is no power i can still browse?

I have a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router with Model Number WRT54G2 V1 and I want to use this as a wireless access point, but I want all other features disabled.
