I have a hp desktop with windows 7.I keep having a problem with my internet connection.I have a new router and is working fine with my laptops.My desktop is 6 months old.someone said it could be a faulty wireless card in the desktop.Is their some way I can test the wireless card before taking it back to the store?The store is an hour and a half away.and if its not the wireless card they will charge me a heavy fee.

Bought router and a PCIe wireless mini card that was suggested for my PC on Dell order site. The card arrived and am trying to install. The end plate with the aerial socket is not compatible with the removable access blanks in rear of case. Have I been sent an incorrect or unsuitable card, or is there some trick or adapting needed to install this card?

My computer is not consistent at all with it's wireless speed currently i have a wireless n router running at 300mpbs but it is quite old, i was wondering what was a good wireless card to upgrade my desktop to. The IP address is correct and signal is real strong, excelent according to PC. I put in the security KEY and it connects and says it's ok but no internet.I've tried every thing. When I plug in the ethernet cable everything works fine on line. With Belkin you can let windows start the wireless input or Belkin. I tried both. No luck. I'm sending you this over my ethernet cable. Need Tech support.I have another desktop with Belkin wireless card and it is working fine . After installation, my system was able to connect to my wi-fi network without any problem. However, due to the power going off at my home, an automatic update on Windows 8 got interrupted.
Since then, it has caused a ton of problems, which caused me to finally re-install Windows 8. Now, however, it does not recognize the wireless card and its drivers, and does not let me install from the CD, or through any alternate sources ?

System has a Broadcom NeXtreme Gigabit Ethernet card installed, which gets me to the internet OK when using a LAN cable from wireless router. But I can't make wireless connection. Vista tells me that I need a wireless network adapter.Am I missing something? Is it possible to change some settings to get the Broadcom card to go wireless? If not, what sort of adapter is needed, and is such adapter external or will it have to be installed in the system box?

During bandwidth tests to several sites (principally speedtest.net) I get ping times of 10-11 ms, download speeds of 12+ to 17+ mbps but failure on upload tests using my DIR-655.
When I bypass the 655 and test directly with my cable modem, all (including upload) tests work reliably and consistently.
I have swapped the two ethernet cables involved as well as replacing both with new cables but the results are the same (uploads fail with 655 and work without it)
I have seen several postings over the the last year with this same problem but have never seen any comment from D-Link, or a solution from any reader.
Not that it should have any bearing, but I have TA785GE-128M motherboard and am running Windows 7 (patch current) on COMCAST
is this problem acknowledged by D-Link and is there a solution?

My laptop connects to the internet through this router using wireless and for test purposes through the ethernet port. I installed a new network card {Dynex DX-E102 PCI NetworkAdaptor}in the desktop. When i'm enabling either the old or new card through Control Panel, Network Connections, i get the message "acquirin network address,Firewalled".and it never enables. I ran Malwarebytes and no infections were found. I use AVG anti-virus and Internet Explorer.

How do I test my routers ddns? My computer went down. So, my adsl ip address changed. I caused the modem/router to reboot. But the new ip wasn't sent to the Host (dyndns.org). I had to update my ip manually on [URL].
I've a problem with the internet speed of my ADSL line(20Mega). Now I've the following components: D-link DSL-320 B (modem)+Cisco Linksys EA6500. If I start a Speed test the result its only 4M in download, while i remove the router and i connect my Pc directly to modem, the speed test results its 13-14M.

I was quite shocked and am wondering if the difference is due to the poor wireless driver in the Classic firmware that was updated in the Cloud firmware. I bought some days ago Tp-Link Wireless Router (Model TL-WR740N - 150 Mbps - Ver 4.23) but I couldn't install it: when I do Easy Setup Assistant, the network status test always fails because of absence of connectivity. I can see that there are some problems by the lights of the router: the WLAN light switches on, as the WAN light and the LAN light, instead of being flashed. I tried to do the installation without cd but, clicking on 192.168.1.1, I didn't find the page to access to web console but the Telecom page of the status of my connexion (nb: it reports that ethernet is unplugged).

Mainly seems to do it when playing online games and testing out speed test.net It does "Download" test fine, "Upload" test is iffy. Sometimes I can run the test 1-2 times sometimes three times, but seems to always drop connection on one of the "upload" tests.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI upgraded 3 days ago from a (WRT160N ver. 1) to a (E3200) After setting it up and syncing all the devices including the XBOX 360. After signing into Live I noticed that every time I power off and power on the console it's IP address would change causing the NAT to become moderate so I went over to the Xbox360 open the Network settings and Manually set the IP address Mac address, Gateway address. Then I opened the routers settings page and Port Forwarded the correct ranges also copied the IP address I manually entered earlier on the Xbox 360. On the router side I saved the changes restarted the console and my NAT was open, but here's the Issue now when I go to sign into Live I get a pop up saying I can't connect to Live to "Test the Connection". After I "Test the Connection" then and only then I can sign into Live.
