I have a server at work which an ESX server, it is running 5 VM's/OVA's and i have 2 physical workstations all hooked up to a switch. All the IP address's within the VM's/OVA are in the range 192.168.99.xx and so are the two individual workstations, they all need to be in that range to be able to communicate with each other.
So as far as I can tell our server is not running any AV whatsoever, so I'm buying Kaspersky Small Business with the 10 PC package:Kaspersky Small Office Security | Virus Protection | Kaspersky Lab to install on it and our other PCs, and I was wondering if there's anything I need to know about installing AV on a server.
I am using WiFi using an AP, that AP gives me private IP's (192.168.0.X). I want to install a server (FTP, HTTP game, etc.) and want another person to access to the server's contents or services. That persons is outside of the local LAN, it's possible him to connect to my server using the public IP of the router?
I've made hotspot ad hoc and then my client try to connect my hotspot but it must setting manually...how to my client connect to my hotspot automatically not manually??? and how to install and setup dhcp server i windows 7...
Can I install win2008r2 standard to a 500gb usb ultra portable harddrive and connect it to my net book and run it ? I am studying for the MCITP and want to use it for that purpose?
I have just rebuilt our lms 4 server onto a newly built serve 2k8r2, from our old 2003 box.
The software is installed, and setup, however I cannot get it to add any devices to the inventory. Every device it trys to talk to is classed as unreachable.
I can telnet into each switches from the server, however the LMS software for some reason cant speak.
Is it possible to install LMS 4.2 in multiserver mode but with possibility to select installed components/applications? I'm talking about Solaris version. I can't see such an option. It will install all the components on every server which I don't want to. We have LMS 3.2 working in such setup: one server with most major components, other running just DFM and third one with only HUM installed.
I'm curently studying for my CCNP Switch certfification, and I'm learning about RADIUS and AAA. I need to practice this topics, but unfortunately I can't find any way to do it. I have cisco ACS 4.2 but I'm unable to install it on my Server 2003 (it says mmc.exe needs to be closed, tried some things but no luck...). I'm unaware of any simulator for RADIUS or anything similar.
how to install ACS 4.2 on Server 2003 (how to solve the error I'm recieving), or point me towards some other product to practise RADIUS and AAA authentication

Everything seems so good until I setting up the printer server. Resources CD contains the "USB Print Service Client Setup" but the User Guide said that I have to install "TP-LINK USB Printer Controller Setup". First, I tried to install "USB Print Service Client Setup", nothing change but a small icon in taskbar allow me to start and stop service, no dialog box said me how to install printer driver. I look in tp-link website and get "TP-LINK USB Printer Controller Setup", install it but it can not detect my printer. What should I do now because I cannot uninstall "USB Print Service Client Setup"?
I have purchased a new home where cat5e was run from several locations throughout the house to the basement. Unfortunately, the runs were not marked. I know you can short one end of each cable and measure (voltage resistance?) at the other end in the basement to identify it. I need the process and equipment required so I can wire my home. The cables are not terminated.
I setup sharePort today and attached an external 1 TB hard drive. Seems that All my internet connections are slow now. I have a seperate PC that I use VPN to connect to work with and suddenly its very slow. My wife said her laptop suddenly slowed down too. The PC that I installed SharePort software seems slow too. Is/can SharePort be dragging down the router? I turned off the external HD and it's still slow.
ASA has 3 interfaces: outside, inside, DMZ Average total throughput is between 20-200mbps. Majority of throughput would be between inside and DMZ interfaces. CPU never goes above 70% (and doesn't seem to spike much with respect to traffic patterns). We are seeing lots of errors on the interface. Inside output:
Interface GigabitEthernet0/1 "Inside", is up, line protocol is up Hardware is i82546GB rev03, BW 1000 Mbps, DLY 10 usec Auto-Duplex(Full-duplex), Auto-Speed(1000 Mbps) Input flow control is unsupported, output flow control is unsupported

The ASA is a VPN headend for 3 remote branches. Approximately 100 VOIP phones between the sites register to a phone server at the main site (where 5520 is).I'm baffled by these overruns and underruns.
Code version 8.2(2).I refuse to believe that I need to upgrade the firewall when a 5520 can supposedly process 450mbps (aware this is best case but our average is close to 80-100mbps) and should do 300,000 bps wheras on average we are pushing 10-15,000.Is there anything we can do to find out why the ASA is having such a hard time processing all of the packets we are sending it?
Data collection runs forever (since this morning). Also an reboot of the LMS server didnt work. Checked all processes and ani.log -OK. After reboot, the time stemp for Toplogy changed from 8:00 to "Not Available"

I have had this wireless router for 3.5-4 months, and it has been working fine up until now.It either runs VERY slow and losses connection often or will not connect at all. I could be sitting beside the router or across the room with the same results. i have even tried connecting a cord from the laptop to the router, but it makes no difference. If it makes any difference we have a PS3 that is connected via wire to the modem and it works just fine, never loses connection. We have used both at the same time since we got it and it was fine up until a few weeks ago.I have tried reseting it and unplugging everything and rebooting the computer and that had no effect. I also tried reinstalling the router on the computer using the setup disk and resetting everything but that did not do anything either. I have an Acer Aspire laptop MTS ~ DSL Modem?
My brand new E3000 runs very hot compared to other (e.g. Netgear WRT624 Super G) that I have had. It get so hot that the hard surface it is on, and the underside of the unit itself, is almost too hot to hold. Is this typical for the E3000 and also other E-series? Won't this characteristic lead to early electronics failure?
Cisco 2811 runs ITP IOS. On that router we run the SMPP service. A client on the network connects to this service, and we need to capture the traffic for debug.
I've tried traffic-export, but I cannot see any outbound traffic. Is there any way to capture the outbound traffic?
I have an HP-MINI with an atom processor 1.6ghz and dual core according to device manager. It has 1 gb ram and no other issues. I can boot into Ubuntu and have everything work fine. It goes on line with no prodding on WAP after I enter the password as usual. When I attempt to do this in winXP on the same exact computer, it comes up with the no connectivity issue. I have run ipconfig and here is the result: (btw I am sending this info from another computer)
I have an SMCWBR14S-N4 router, and I'm using a usb wireless adapter that says it supports n, and promises speeds of 150 mbps. My signal strength is excellent, yet my speed is only 54 mbps. This is the only wireless connection on my network, I have 2 PCs connected at 100 mbps, and a Dish DVR connected at who knows what speed.
I've been trying to read questions and answers from others online, and I keep reading that ISP speed plays a role. How does my ISP's speed affect my wireless network's speed? (Plus, I run speedtest.net all the time and my download speed is usually 260 mbps.)
But my question is simply why is my speed so low and what can I do about it?

I am using my Iphone 5 as a personal hotspot at home. It gets LTE so my speed is very fast as compared to satellite service from HughesNet. My laptop downloads at 12 mbs and uploads at 5 mbs versus satellite which is about 1 mbs. However, I installed a Linksys N300 usb adapter on my wife's workstation and it is actually slower than 1 mbs. The workstation is about 4 years old running on Vista. I have tried the usb adapter in all four usb slots with no change in performance.
I just got my first WRVS4400N v2.Nothing has changed, the definition of small business means there are USUALLY one office, and several people runs around thus the need of a VPN server sitting at the home office Router. I think most of us small business operators had wished for a connection away from office, NO REMOTE GROUPS, just clients on phone, or laptop. Using this connection to get to some files which isn't sitting in the cloud, or perhaps using it to hop over firewall restrictions that some overseas countries had imposed.
What you should have is a setting for Stand-alone VPN server, NOT Router to Router.. What you should have is feature that generates the various psk for different platforms. What you should have is made things simple, instead of these magicabbage which goes no where for the small businesses.Through out this thread the original poster is presenting the same problem, he and I don't have a Remote Group router to enter an IP address, tell us to use the QuikVPN client DON'T work, the Server isn't UP to begin with! Moreover, the VPN client installer on the this new v2 runs only in Win 2000 or XP??? What the (*&^! Doesn't seem like a large business like Cisco should have in their boxes.
There are 2 XBox's in the house and 1 is downstairs wired into the WRT320N Router. The upstairs XBox is running wirelessly through the router. Each of the XBox's work fine playing Modern Warfare 3, when only one is playing, but if both of us are playing, the wired connection works great, while the wireless connection is really slow and laggy. Again, the wireless XBox runs fine as long as the wired XBox isn't also playing MW3.
I'm going to be running CAT6 throughout my house (once I figure out all the paths and buy the cable) with the home runs going to a patch panel in the basement.
I've been wondering if I should terminate each cable with a male RJ45 end and use a patch panel with RJ45 female-female keystone couplers or; terminate each cable with a female RJ45 keystone jack and snap it into a keystone patch panel.
I'm just wondering if there are any pros and cons to each, each method seems to be exactly the same, just buying different pieces.
