Lenovo G550 with windows 7 shows that the Internet is connected but the IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity says no network access. I updated and reinstalled drivers, typed in some cmd command and restarted computer with no success. I also called tech support and they had me go into safe mode, the Internet didn't work there so he said it was a driver problem but wouldn't fix it.

I have other computers in the house and they remain connected, so that leads me to believe it's not the router.Thus far I've done a few odds and ends suggested on other sites to eliminate my problem, like taking the battery out for 30 minutes, changing the power setting.

It doesnt matter what network I use , it does the same thing. When the connection is lost it will also cause any other wifi devices (computers, phones) to lose there connection and have to reconnect. I have tried just about anything and everything including using an external usb wifi.

has quite frankly gotten me absolutely annoyed . I've tried just about everything, from using the netsh commands to changing the dns to 8.8.8.8 or that other one or the other. Nothing is working, I unplugged the router, problem persists, I disabled IPV6 problem persists, I restore, problem persists. The only clue I have is my router, and mysteriously, there are TWO of my computer on it. It might be nothing but most certainly has caught my attention. Also, it gives me this info about my media being disconnected

I have been struggling to get a IPv6 in IPv4 tunnel working with tunnelbroker.net. I think the issue is a problem with the router itself and i'm not sure how to get it fixed.
All of my machines were getting IPv6 addresses (both windows, mac, linux) but none of them seemed to work. All I was able to do was ping the gateway itself using the local lan address. In each case they were missing a default IPv6 route. If I added a default route then it would work.
I started looking at the packets using a network sniffer and the Router Advertisements all had a Router lifetime value of "0" which is RFC4816 speak for "don't use this router as the default router". So Windows/Linux is exactly right by not setting a default route.
The strange thing was that when I reboot the router I would briefly get a router advertisement with a lifetime of 1800s, the corrert prefix and dns server but then another router advertisement would come along 5 seconds later with a router advertisement of 0.
I have TCP' Other observations
... using 6to4 I would get working IPv6 address. The difference again seemed to be the Router Lifetime. But I want to use a permanent tunnel. I have found 6to4 unreliable.
... the router never responds to router solicitations. It only sends a router advertisement when it wants to.
... the router never responds to DHCPv6 when that is configured.
I have lenovo g580 and it was working ok with windows starter , i formated it and now im using windows 8 but i dont have a wifi connection again and the wireless function key not working too . i downloaded a bunch of wireless drivers and installed them but still not working.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had a WAG320N running problem free for approx 2 months, in that time I've upgraded the firmware 1.00.12 with no issues and has run fine for a month after upgrade. I have 3 laptops connected wirelessly and 2 pc's running wired (through homeplug system) plus TV, PS3 and ipods, all have run without issues.
All of a sudden 2 days ago all wireless connectivity stopped? SSID is still broadcasting and viewable but I can no longer connect with any computer or device. Wired connectivity is working fine.
I've checked security settings, turned off encryption, reset factory defaults, re-downloaded latest firmware and reflashed with no luck. As I said wirless stopped working all of a sudden with no changes to settings.
i was poking around steam when i lost connection to the network, when it came back it was limited connectivity. now its 3 days later and i've been trying everything i can think of to make my wireless card work again from recovery to reinstalling drivers. all the troubleshooting can say is it might be the drivers, still might be for all i know but those didn't seem to work like i said. is there a chance im just being blocked by the network? its one big public network thats shared by the whole base.

No matter what browser I use I usually dont get to any website. Most of the time it says access: local only, or local and internet, or limited connectivity. I have two network cables attached to a managed switch, the location of the two cables are very important. Two computers attached to the said cables.I would like to communicate with one of the computers on PORT 1 and PORT 2, regardless of what computer is plugged into them. They get there IP's via DHCP, and a static IP wont work - as the computer plugged into PORT 1 or 2 may be different.So. I have two ports on the switch that I always want to communicate with the computer on the other end. But I don't (will not) always know the IP address of the computer(s) connected.

My computer says that I am connected to the wireless router and that I have great signal strength but I have no internet access from either my IPv4 or IPv6. I have been using the cmd commands such as netsh reset, and the like. I have restarted both modem and router a few times as well as my computer. Also just did a recent avg scan and firewalls are all off. This is all coming from my mac laptop which is connected just fine which leaves me even more confused.

When I am unable to connect, and I use command ipconfig, the following appears: Autoconfiguration IPv4 169.254.23.29 On the occasions when I am connected, the following appears in its place: IPv4 IP Address: 192.168.0.2
One tip that I came across was to check the box (Wireless Network properties, Connection tab) for "Connect even if the network is not broadcasting". I had hoped this simple solution would assist, but to no avail.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe set up three new terminals this week at the office; they're all running Win 7 Pro 32-bit. I set them all up simultaneously (literally sat at a desk and entered the same keystrokes at each of them), so I don't see any obvious reason that one is behaving differently from the other two. The essential problem is that the terminal doesn't see the Internet.
Here are all the particulars that I think might be interesting, listed in no particular order:
- The terminal ran fine for several hours. Email access, Internet access, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. At that point, the user called me to show me a dialog box. I used System Restore to go back in time to 9 a.m. in case the user had somehow managed to do anything (though she's not an admin).
- IPv6 is disabled.
- The workplace uses Static IPs. The IP address is entered correctly in the IPv4 properties (x.x.x.213), but at cmd / ipconfig, I get this result: "Autoconfiguration IPv4 address: 169.254.95.187"
- In Network and Sharing Center, the network (which is only known as Unidentified Network) is set to type Public. When I reset it to type Work and reboot, it resets to type Public.
I have a dell inspiron 15 and I've been having trouble fully connecting to my wireless internet. It says I have signal but gets stuck on identifying the network and I have limited IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity.

My own WiFi network is fine, but while I am connected to any public hotspot I get the 'no internet access' message on the wifi symbol.While connected to my own network, ipconfig/all shows that I have an Autoconfiguration IPv4 address in the (correct) 192 range - but when connected to a hotspot, the address is in the 169 range, or occasionally (as in the instance below) in the 10 range. Clearly this is the problem, but I cannot figure out what has caused it. Is it hardware? Software? Malware? Or user error?I have run the Wireless Test and the log results are pasted below.

A few months back, my computer stopped connecting to networks. Through some process or another, I ended up "fixing" it by manually inserting the ipv4 settings. Apparently that only allows it to connect to my router though, as public wi fi won't work for it. If I leave the ipv4 settings set to automatically obtain information, the computer won't connect to the network. It will stay on the "identifying network" part indefinitely. In addition, I can't connect through the modem directly either, manual settings or not.

Newly acquired DIR-615 E3 with F/W vers. 5.10. Router configured with IPv4 static address for WAN works fine. As soon as I configure the WAN IPv6 with a static IP address also, the configuration for the IPv4 static IP is corrupted. Other combinations of (WAN config) using static for either IPv4 or IPv6 with DHCP or other seem to work. Just appears to have conflict with two WAN static IP configurations.

In my Ethernet IPv4 and IPv6 is not enabled. When I'm trying to set the IP address for my Ethernet it says it has to install the driver. Realtek PCIe Family Controller. Ethernet card.

I'm running Ubuntu Server in VirtualBox. When I select the internal network option for the network adapter and start up the VM, I only get IPv6 address. I need an IPv4 address as well. My host (running Windows 7) gets has both an IPv4 and IPv6 address listed when I run ipconfig. When I run ifconfig on the guest (running Ubuntu Server), it only lists IPv6.

I currently have ipV4 as the setting on my DIR-825. Other posts seem to want ipV6 which is more secure but is not possible with a DIR-825 Rev A1. I have two routers, a primary router (DIR-825 Rev B1) capable of ipV6 and a secondary router (DIR-825 Rev A1). If I implement ipV6 on the Rev B1 router but keep ipV4 on the secondary router, will this improve the security, or will it just mess things up so nothing works?Certain devices (cell phones and most Tablets) don't deal with ipV6 very well at all.
