View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a small Network at my office, all done by myself with my limited knowledge. I have 9 systems connected thru physical LAN and 1 laptop connected through Wireless (from my internet router)I have distributed the internet connection openly, not using a proxy server. Anyone plugs in will get Internet on their system through the DHCP.Recently I found that internet usage been crossing the limits.sniff/monitor internet/bandwidth usage system wise.I have a internet router (Linksys/Cisco WRT 120N) from which the cable goes to an un-managed 8 port switch.I have three different areas in my office, so I pulled single cable to each of these areas and there I used another un-managed 8 port switch to distribute the LAN to the systems.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have WAG-120N ADSL Modem+Router which I am using for the last two years. Recently It has started taking about 2-3 minutes to show any sign of life after it is powered on. When powered ON no light comes up until 2-3 minutes. Then Internet light goes red for about 2 seconds then power light goes on followed by all lights then it starts booting normally i.e. Power light stars blinking, WiFi light blinking, power light stabilizes, DSL light starts blinking, WiFi light stabilizes followed by DSL & Internet. When ON it works perfectly alright until switched off.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've got a WAG120n but no ADSL connection at the moment, so I'd like to use the WAG as a basic wireless router to connect my desktop (via ethernet cable), laptop and Xbox 360 (both via wireless) - both the computers are running Windows 7.
I've tried all sorts of settings, including disabling DHCP, but it seems that as soon as I add any wireless security (have tried various options - WPA2, WPA, WEP) I can no longer connect - it generally tells me that the passkey is incorrect even though I've tried and retried several times with different keys etc. Am I missing something fundamental here?
i need an exact explenation of linksys access point configuration
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just been sent a new ADSL modem router by my new broadband supplier and plan on using it. However, my question is, can use my old wag160n to replace one of these, which im currently using to connect an old xbox to my wireless network, but also make use of the other lan ports on the wag (i.e. Connect more than one non wireless device to the wag and gain access to my wifi network?)

View 1 Replies View RelatedGot a problem with my new Linksys E2500 router. I have a Huawei Smart Ax MT882 cable modem, that connects to my desktop through an Ethernet cable, it works fine.
Recently i bought a notebook and i thought i could have a wireless connection, using the modem as well... So I bought a E2500 router, that is connected with Ethernet cables to the desktop and the Smart Ax MT882 modem.
It happens that i am not able to setup the configurations to make this work (This router does not supported by my ISP provider).
I have problem with Linksys BEFSR41 ver.4.2 (Firmware Version: 2.00.4 )When i plug the cable on internet port , router crash , can't see web configuration if get ip or to make some ather configure, only if unplag internet cable and restart the router i can see the web configuration .(i try to ping in local ip when crash 192.168.1.1 but not responding )in my computer i have static ip (192.168.1.5) and is direct connect with Linksys.i try it and with DHCP and plugent over LevelOne switch and over Cisco switch .[code]
in previous firmware they don't have in menu the server ip in wan pptp web configuration connection I have test with more than one Linksys BEFSR41 ver.4.2 and all router have the same problemWith ather router e.x. Cisco RVS4000 configured and working perfect in same network .
Linksys tried multiple WRT54g routers and access point, 192.168.1.1 can't open the router config page.
View 5 Replies View RelatedTrying to get this linksys router working on my network. It is a wrt54gs. The machine that i'm configuring it with is running a 64-bit version of windows 7. I run the disc and it seems as if no matter what i try it will not connect to the internet. Can plug modem directly to pc and connect no problem. Can connect to router no problem. But cannot connect to the internet through the router.I made sure that ip addresses are assigned dynamically through dhcp and cloned the mac address of the pc i'm using to do the initial setup.
View 4 Replies View Relatedour WRT310N router does not retain any configuration given to it. When we reset the device, it goes back to its factory settings. In that state we can access the device (http://192.168.1.1), make some changes and save it. The changes include giving it a different name from the default, and setting a password for the connection. However, when we try to use it for our wireless network, we cannot connect to the internet. Checking the Connection Status in a Windows XP laptop, we found out that we have been given a gateway different from what we have set the device into and thus a different set of IP addresses for each of the device.
Also at this time, we cannot access the router anymore (via 192.168.1.1 or via the gateway provided) and thus having no choice but to reset the device again. We then reinput the configuration desired, save it, restart the systems (both PCs and router) but after a few moments (initially it retains the settings chosen) we won't be able to connect through the Internet and find out that the router has a different configuration again. We also tried letting the device "rest" but the same problem persists.
I have recently implimented an RV016 device into our network. We have a bonded T1 service with Paetec/Windstream (5 static IPs) and also a cable connection with Comcast (no static IP). The T1 has been our primary connection, and our MX and A records all use this IP address. I have the rules set and using a one-to-one NAT setup with our 5 IPs. Everything is working great with the T1 in place and email is flowing with no problems, however when I connect the cable into the WAN2 port and try to send email, its using that outbound connection, rather then the T1 and our spam filter is blocking it. So the email is rejected and we get this message below.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got a WET200 connecting to a wireless router (linksys WRT54G) setup thru the WET200 site survey.Does the WET200 need to have an ip with the same sub net as the network the WRT54G is connected to?I have a laptop hooked up the the WET200 with a static IP. I cannot ping IP's of the same sub net on the network the WRT54G is connected to nor see anything on the internet?
WET200 connected to wireless AP WRT54G (192.168.23.3)
WET200 IP address = 192.168.23.8
Laptop IP address = 192.168.23.218 (connected to port 1 of WET200)
I can configure the WET200 via the laptop, but not able to see anything across the bridge?
The E1200 is connected to a router (BEFSR41) that is acting as DHCP server. So I have disabled the DHCP Server option on the E1200. Once configured, the wireless connection is working by unexpectedly only as guest user (I tried via PC XP, PC Win 7 and IPad) on the guest network. The problem is that once configured, the E1200 is no more reachable unless I reset it and I reconfigure it. If I try to access the IP 192.168.1.1, I get the setup page of the router (BEFSR41) and not the E1200. From another computer the IP Scan discover the E1200 as 192.168.1.103, but I am not able to reach it at that address.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWith other devices, including Cisco Aironet, I've saved a lot of time in the past by cloning the config from one WAP to another. This is for when I have to set up 2 or more WAP's on the same network, that share 98% of the same settings.I was wondering if anyone's ever tried to do this with Linksys devices, and in my case two E4200v2's in bridge-mode (WAP-only). Will it let you Restore a config that came from a different device? (same hardware version of course)Obviously I would change the hostname, devicename & IP address to make them unique. But the rest of the settings would basically stay the same.
I'm talking about E4200's that are being used as bridge-mode access points, and so typical router functions like DHCP server are disabled on both.
I have one POTS line and a SIP account with Skype. I want to configure my SPA3102 to take all incoming POTS calls (so I don't have to change my phone number or use up my bandwidth all the time). I want all local calls (303 and 720 area code) and possibly 911 (if possible) to go out the POTS line, but all long distance to go to SIP account on SKYPE. Pretty simple, but I can't find a wizard or samples in the documentation or firmware for the SPA3102.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy dependable WRT160N started behaving oddly during last week.Suddenly without apparent cause, its whole configuration is restored to factory default by itself.I've noticed one week ago and last night when I lost my internet connection that the router changed its admin IP, login, ISP settings, Etc to factory default.I've used this router for almost 3 years or so with no problem at all. Always fast and easy.I'm using port forwarding, TZO account, NAS, protected WiFi settings, FW... Etc and is really annoying to rebuild everything once a week.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new WRT120N Router. It worked perfectly wired and wireless. But my old laptop burned, and the new one came with a Atheros AR5B93 Wireless Network Adapter, which is Draft-N compatible. The laptop connects to the router fine, but using only the G type. When I set the router to use only 802.11n, i get a message from Windows, like: "Windows was unable to connect to the network."because the N configuration is much faster than the old G.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'll be installing a cable modem in the next few days and would like to connect my WRT310N to it. I was wondering what would be the best settings to use.
Main uses:
- Distance from WRT310N to other devices is around 8 meters, separated by 1 concrete wall
- Stream music/video from PC to iPad and another laptop wirelessly.
- Transfer files between devices
I have a WAG160N and its seems to have reset to factory defaults, no idea why, but when trying to restore the Configuration Backup all I get is "Restore Failure <Unmatched pid>"
View 2 Replies View Relatedwe have a RV082 and have the DMZ option enable for a range of IPs within the same sub-net of WAN IP and this works great. I have another range of Public IPs from our ISP that is not in the same sub-net of the WAN IP and do not see a way on the RV082 to include this 2nd bank of Public IPs in the DMZ.
Our ISP internet feed plugs into the RV082 WAN port and we have a switch plugged into the DMZ port of the RV082 that is used to connect the public devices in the current DMZ. Both banks of Public IPs from our ISP come over via the ISP internet feed plugged into the WAN Port.
My question is, if I cannot configure a DMZ rule to allow this 2nd range of Public IPs to "travel" to the RV082 DMZ port, how I can do this without one-to-one NAT or port port forwarding? The device I am deploying needs to be at the border of our network (like in the DMZ) and have some ability to talk to a device on our LAN.
I set up a basic Linksys E2500 with the following information and connected to the internet straight away without a problem: I have spent several hours simply trying to get this basic information into the Cisco 819 using CP Express without success, i.e. I get no internet. Rather than show my inputs, What is the correct setup. I am a novice so I'd rather solve this issue using CP Express just to get connected in the first instance. I have a static IP address, I connected the ethernet cable carrying the internet to the internet port of the E2500 and an ethernet cable from one of the ethernet ports of the E2500 to my PC. For the 819, I connected the internet cable to the GE WAN 0 port and the PC to one of the FE ports.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy question is regarding gaining access to my Linksys wireless router configuration page. I recently turned my Linksys WRT54GL wireless router into an access point and since I have done so I am no longer able to access the configuration page for my router.
The problem that I am encountering is not one of connectivity, but rather entry. Prior to turning my wireless router into an access point I was able to connect to the router by means of my browser (192.168.1.1). I am still able to connect to the router, but whenever I type in a user name and password the router just simply does not recognize the information. I have tried resetting the router multiple times, but I am still denied access to my router despite having the correct user name and password. I have version 1.1 of the Linksys WRT54GL wireless router and have the latest firmware.
I am position to migrate from CatOS 6509 switch to native IOS 6509 switch. long time ago, there was some site to convert automatically based on copy and paste onto the tool, but i can not find.
Does anybody know how to convert CatOS configuration to Native IOS configuration ? It is not IOS change, but it is configuration convert.
I work for a large company and want reinstall my wireless router so I move from room to room with my laptop without plugging into our network. I have had it set up before but had to spent an hour with tech support to configure the router. Recently I had to reset the password and lost all the settings.
I can get to logged into the set up with the default password but have no idea how to configure it. No matter what I try I get no conectivity when I try to redirect the browser to the internet.
Yeah, I know I should let our network IT staff set it up, but they get all bent when I want to extend my access to a wireless configuration even if it's password protected.
We have :DSLT-1 I want to route all VOIP traffic and traffic to one IP address over the T-1, all other traffic I want to route over the DSL. HOWEVER, in the event that the DSL fails, have the DSL traffic failover to the T-1.I have setup the router to do just that (I think) and when I go to a site like "whatismyipaddress.com", it shows my IP as comming from the T-1. With the setup I described that traffic should always route over the DSL.Straight up protocol binding won't work because the traffic I want to route over the T-1 to one specific IP is going to be prot 80 and 443 (web traffic)
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have finally been able to reconfigure my BEFSR41 V3 Wired Router to properly support my small server environment. I would like to know if there is a way to make a complete Backup of the current configuration that should be restored to the router if it should become "reset" to factory defaults. This happened to me approximately a week ago, and it took several days, a couple of phone support calls, and quite a bit of"grief" and aggravation/frustration before I managed to get everything re-configured correctly. If it had been "Backed up" to a file, I could have restored it and been back up and serving websites in a few hours. Instead it took almost a complete week! Is it even possible to actually backup the router? Or... must I just print each screen to be sure I get it all?
