Wireless :: Linksys EA4500 - Unable To Send Email With New Router?
Mar 14, 2013just upgraded to a Linksys EA4500 wireless router at my small office from an old Netgear. My email now wont send messages out on either my IPhone or my laptop(Toshiba) while using the wireless network. If I turn off Wi-Fi on my IPhone, my email immediately sends the messages. What settings do I need to change? I have Comcast internet and one IMAP email account and one "Yahoo" email account

Jan 4, 2012If I have two Linksys wireless routers in my house, ( 1 Wireless-G as the Gateway attached to the DSL line, and attached to the main computer, and 1 Wireless-b model BEFW11S4v4 that I want to use as a bridge or as a repeater to send the wireless signal around the attic (2 floors away) and I have connected them via Ethernet, and then connected to the attic computer (not the main one) via Ethernet to Wireless-B, why can I not get connectivity on the attic computer?
If I forgo the Wireless-B router, and connect the ethernet to the attic computer everything is fine, but there is no wireless signal in the attic. (only downstairs where the Wireless-G is.) I believe I can access the Wireless-G and tell it to be a bridge or a repeter (?? I think) but as far as I can tell the Wireless-B is giving itself the same IP address as the Gateway Wireless-G is using, and I don't have an connectivity, so I can't change it! Im confused.

Jun 6, 2012I have a Linksys wireless router model WRT54G (not sure the exact model, it's not in front of me right now). It has worked flawlessly for the past several years, but for some reason has recently stopped working. I confirmed it's not a problem with the DSL Modem, as I can hard wire connect to my laptop and the internet works fine. It's clear something is wrong with the wireless router. I've tried unplugging, hitting the reset button on the back, and nothing has worked. My computer is able to recognize/locate the router and connect, it's just that I can't connect to the internet. One thing I've noticed under the wireless connection is that the computer is able to "send" packets, but not "receive." My experience is that this is always the case when I experience connection problems, but I have no idea what that means. I was going to call the Help Line, but I see it costs $30 which is likely more than my router is worth and probably 1/2 to 1/3 the cost of a new one so I am trying to troubleshoot myself.

Dec 1, 2011I just upgraded from a WRTG 54 version 2 wireless router to the Linsksys E2500. The reason for the change is to send a stronger wireless signal strength further in my house. Setup was easy to my laptop and XBox 360 but my Samsung Internet TV is another story. I can get my tv to get the wireless signal but when I click on an app nothing but error messages. Often times it will say to check my dns settings but I am not that tech savvy and don't know what to do.

Jan 17, 2012I run the CD setup disk and the driver install correctly.In the "Connecting the Adapter" screen I click next before connecting the adapter,the setup screen just close with out any notification and no icons on the system tray.I shut down the machine, insert the adapter and power on the machine,now I have the monitor icon and a wireless connection icon in the system tray (the Power led is green and the Link led isblink),when I double click on the monitor icon I got the following screen: no available wireless and the refresh, connect and manual setup are disabled.when I click on the "open the monitor" form the right click menu I got the following screen: also nothing to do on this screen.so I think it's was because I don't have any wi-fi around me, I shutdown the computer raise my wi-fi andrestart the machine, now the led in the same status but the system tray icons didn't appears and when Itry to open it from the menu it's run for few seconds without any screen and disappear.

Jan 21, 2011I'm running Windows 7-64 bit. The AE1000 works great so far, in the one day I've had it, and it appears to start itself and connect when turning the computer on (unlike other people on here that I've seen). BUT, it's all pointless if I can't put my computer into standby. The adapter kicks it right back out as soon as I try to sleep the computer.
I've checked the device settings and "allow the device to wake the computer" is unchecked (in fact, it's grayed out). I rarely turn off the computer; I much prefer to just put it in standby. I don't want to have to unplug the adapter every time I do that.

Sep 9, 2012I picked up a AE3000 for an older laptop, but it will not connect to any network. It is on an older (01') dell laptop running XP SP3. I have tried using the disk and downloading the latest drivers on-line but no luck. It picks up all the networks around me and mine, but it says trying to connect and just can't. I tried it on another laptop and everything works fine. Is there an issue with this adapter and the original USB ports or XP in general? I have checked and rechecked the passcodes, I have deleted all of the profiles and started from the beginning again. I removed my anti-virus program as well as the last effort. Nothing I do seems to make a difference though.This is just used to access the internet on a laptop that is dedicated to a telescope.

Nov 2, 2012I had a hard drive failure recently and replaced my HDD with an identical HDD (WD 500 AAKS) and did a restore from my WD Passport Essential. Everything works as before except I can't install my AE1000 wireless adapter. The OS recognizes the new hardware and I attempt instalation form the setup CD. Istallation goes until it gets to the "Installing" step and then it just stays there forever until it comes back with an error. I am accessing the internet now through a cat 5 ethernet hook-up.

I have tried the setup CD, but get the "The Setup Utility was unable to locate a Wireless G Ethernet bridge..." message.
I have also held the reset button for 30+ seconds and tried to log into the bridge directly using the IP addy (192.168.1.226)

I have installed the hardware and the drivers. When I open the view available wireless networks window my network shows up with two bars of strength. But when I select this network and click connect, I get an error message saying "Windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be in range. Please refresh the list of available networks, and try to connect again." I have other computers connecting to this wireless network without any problem. When I bootup It connects at 130 mbps and if I let it sit for about a day or so it will eventually connect at 300 mpbs which is what I want it to connect at after boot. I dont see a option in the drivers for this adapter to force 40 over 20. Seems it connects at 20, then after so long it moves to 40.

Sep 5, 2012I have a Linksys WUSB100 ver.2 which i'm using on my desktop (uptodate Windows 7) for over a year now. I never had any problems with it until about a week ago.
After starting the computer, it had no network-connection, nor could it find any network anymore . The led-light keeps flashing blue and the device gets pretty hot.
I've tried about everything, i think:
- I've tried to update the drivers, but the installed driver were already uptodate.
- I have re-installed the device with no effect.

Mar 4, 2011I'm having a problem with my WMP300N adapter. I upgraded my computer and ever since a have this frustrating experience that my PC keeps freezing, I mean completely freezes, nothing works. Before, I was already using Win7 (32-bit), so that can't be the problem. Now I went to a Win7 64-bit system, but that's not the problem either, because another PC in my house is also running on Win7 64-bit, with the exact same adapter and doesn't have any problem at all!
The only difference between the two PC's is in the motherboard. The PC that does not have problem has a motherboard with a P43 chipset and the PC with problems has the X58 chipset. My guess is that this can be the reason for the problem. So my question is:
Does anyway on this Forum has a motherboard with a X58 chipset and uses this (otherwise fine!) adapter WMP300Nv2
