A few days ago, my Linksys E3200 router stopped working suddenly for no reason. The SSID was still broadcasted for a few days, but no internet connection. Today the SSID does not broadcast at all and I seemingly have no access to it.I tried power cycling it.I tried reconfiguring it via the CD included in the box.I tried solving it with the wireless tools in Windows.
View 2 RepliesRight now I have my computer (iMac early 2012 summer purchase) plugged directly into the wall via ethernet cable for internet access. I have only begun doing this in the past week because my E1200 wireless router has stopped working properly. I have reinstalled and reset to factory settings and set up with Cisco Connect and setup manually over the past week troubleshooting every possible way I have ever known how. My internet, obviously, is working. And when I set up the wireless network it connects properly and obtains an IP address and the lights on the back of the unit light up correspondingly and correct. But I cannot connect to the internet via the router, wirelessly or plugged directly into it. Yet when I take the internet cable and plug it straight into my computer it works.Mainly just need to know if this can be fixed or if I need to go return this unit and get a replacement. The router was purchased two months ago and has not had any issues since I first set it up until a couple of weeks ago and my phone is using up all of my cellular data plan without being connected to my wi-fi...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Studio 1557 laptop (purchased in late December 2009) that all of a sudden has lost wireless connection to the internet. Went to use it last night (Thursday) for normal use and no wireless connection at all. Before this issue, there were no problems connecting thru wireless at all...in fact used it Wednesday evening for work/surfing and no problems whatsoever. We are using a Linksys 160N router...have 2 other computers and 2 iPod Touches that are connecting just fine, absolutely no problems. It can connect thru a wired connection with no problems but nothing thru wireless...this is a fairly new router, about 10 days old, but haven't had any issues with it since set-up.
I didn't have much of a chance to do anything about this last night or this morning. I really don't want to bother calling Dell Support either.

E3200 works great until I enable QoS. The device uses QoS and works find until reboot. If QoS is enabled and the device is rebooted, its stops routing from LAN side to Internet side. Administration-->Diagnostics allow me to ping/trace route to Internet sites and local LAN clients but cannot reach Internet from local LAN.
Windows networking icon indicates "No Internet access". I can ping other devices on local LAN.
Disabling QoS restores routing and you can re-enable QoS after that and all is well. Unfortunately, if there is a power failure when I', not there to disable/re-enable QoS afterward, other household members can't use the Internet till I get home.
Wondering if any other QoS users have observed the same problem.
I have a dell studio 1558 laptop and it's got this Bluetooth problem. I use BT to connect to Internet through my phone as a modem. But sometimes it suddenly stops working and the BT icon vanishes from the taskbar. Every attempt to restart it by Wireless switch, or by restarting BT service/process fails. (this does not happen with WiFi, or any other connection though). The only way I get back Bluetooth ON again is if I put the system to sleep, or I shut down and Turn On (Hibernate, Restart, Log off doesn't work). And this happens more frequently while multitasking than normal use.
I am using Windows 7 Home premium (service pack 0).I have the latest Bluetooth module installed, latest system BIOS installed as available in the dell website.
Up until about midnight tonight, my router, which has been plugged in to my cable modem, has been working fine for years, both wired and wirelessly. Suddenly, however, I went to log on to my desktop PC (wired connection; Windows 7), and I had no network connection. ipconfig indicated "media disconnected." My cable-based phone service (VOIP) is still working fine at this time.
First attempt - unplug router, wait 15 seconds, plug it back in. Still no good, though my network sharing center indicated that the network connection was appearing/disappearing every few seconds, never actually getting "internet" connectivity.
Second attempt - attempted to use a WIFI-based device (iPad), which could not see my home network by name at all.
Third attempt - reset both the cable modem and the router, bringing the cable modem up FIRST. Same results as the first attempt.
Fourth attempt - plug the wired PC directly into the cable modem - this worked fine and is how I am submitting this post as I type. So the cable modem is working properly.
Fifth attempt - look up the information on how to reset the router to factory defaults. Used a paperclip to depress the reset button for 10- and on a subsequent attempt, 30-seconds (no obvious "reset" blink pattern was observed). Plug PC back in to router. PC would not obtain any DHCP-based IP address and the network sharing center was still behaving as in the first attempt.
Sixth attempt - disconnect the cable modem uplink and see if I could get the local network functioning. Now I noticed that the LED patterns on the router were behaving as:
- Power and my PC's slot number lit
- All lights lit
- All lights off
- Power and my PC's slot number lit
- etc
My M20 Valet Plus stopped working suddenly last night. Now no power lights will come on and it now longer transmitts as a connection point . No apparent sign that it's alive. I've owned it troublefree for just over a year, but it is out of warranty. Any way to tell if there is hope of reviving it or if I'm just out of luck? Nothing happened at my end to cause this -- no power interruptions or other odd occurrences.

I also had no connection on my mac which is wired to the WRT110. I bypassed the WRT110 and then I had a connection on my Mac meaning the WRT110 is the problem. Then today my computer shut down and when I turned it back on there was a connection but my computer was not responding to any commands. The icon shows full connectivity excellent connection. When I try to go to a web page it shows Connection Error and cannot get to any web pages.I am able to get on other wireless connections from neighbors but not mine. I have gone thru different directions on here and I am not technical and don't understand what is being said. I try to go to 192.168.1.1 and it asks for a password which I don't have. I have tried everything such as password and admin and get nothing.I am able to get my ip address and default gateway address and don't know the next step.

Its been working fine then about a day ago it started to stop working at random. All internet just stops working. Wired and Wifi. I have to either wait for it to work again or restart the router.

It has been working perfectly for the last few months until yesterday when I noticed none of my wireless devices could connect. The SSID was still being broadcast and my computers that were connected through an ethernet cable were still able to access the internet fine. Eventually I pressed the red reset button on the back of the router, which reset my router name, password, etc. I set everything back up and was able to connect again. Several hours later the wireless stopped working again. When I launched the Cisco Connect software I was prompted to update some software (possibly the router firmware) so I did that. After that I was able to connect to wireless again. This morning I woke up and wireless was not working again. This time I changed the password for the router and then I was able to connect to wireless again. I tried to change the router password back to the original password and I couldn't connect anymore. When I changed the router password back to the new password I could connect again.

I have an external drive connected to a mac mini which is shared on the network. When transferring folders to or from that external drive, our internet connection stops working until the transfer finishes, then comes back up. I've tested this in a variety of ways. Any transfer of data from shared folders in any combination of devices causes internet to stop working both on wired and wireless devices until the transfer is done, then they all work again. Router firmware: 1.0.03.

The only way to get it to work again is to reboot the router. I’m running the “latest" firmware, which is an oxymoron considering it's been over 12 MONTHS since Linksys updated the code... Which is appalling considering this appears to be their flagship wireless N router.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having a bit of trouble with my e4200, It keeps on "dropping" connection, and by dropping I mean it constantly around 3-5 minutes the internet stops working with all my computers, it's connected by wifi with 2 PC's, and 1 PC is wired with an ethernet cable, and I also have 2 mobile devices connected at it. The internet would start working again within 30s, to 1m, but that it drops soon.Methods I've done to fix it:
-Updated firmware to the latest one
-Set the MTU to 1400
-Reset it, (30 second press)
-Rebooted, (Cooled down, doesn't really run hot just a little warm)
-Restored to factore defaults
I've tried all sorts of settings, and I'm still holding out that its a setting possibly, but I have a E3500 and devices on both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz... Most of them, probably when idle, seem to stop working over WIfi. They still have decent connection, but every internet related request just times out. Disable and reinable the wifi and it works great again.
Could this be defective wifi radios? or could it really be interference? I have it happening on multiple devices. Also, I'm not far away from the router when it occurs, and when I reconnect, it seems to work just fine for a while. Basically the big problem is on the cell phones and tablets because I'll miss notifications... I'll turn off the wifi and turn it back on when I use the device next, then a flood of notifications will come in. Again, it's not just a phone thing, tablets and laptops have the same problem, that's just the main reason I want it fixed.
I have the same problems with the Cisco EPC3925?Everytime a wired pc reboots/boots everyone on the network losses internet, also wireless is disconnected. Also everyone get unidentified network and later its set to public network.We are using a Sitecom switch LN-120. I have to unplug this switch, then restart the router to fix the problem each time. Then I can plug it in again and everything is fine.The router will not restart (does not go further then 2nd blinking LED.) if I do not unplug the switch.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy dlink dir 628 wireless router suddenly stopped working yesterday. If I plug the ethernet cable directly into my computer and the internet works. I see the wireless profile in the options for the wireless internet, but when I try to connect, it is unable to do so.
I've tried resetting the router (using the button on the device) witand reinstalling the router (using the CD), but still not working. Also have tried turning off the modem, router, and restarting my computer.
I can no longer browse through any browser, or update any programs (even though I am still connected to my wireless router). I have already done a Refresh, but the problem persists

We have had no problems until recently, I called the satellite Internet company(which is a local co.) they told me my router was going out. I bought a new one, problem solved! Right?!? WRONG my husband told me my neighbor just got Internet and has been playing Xbox everyday which coincidently is between the 5:30pm to 10ish pm we have been having issues with our router. What can we do to fix this? Do I have to buy a bigger router? He is not stealing off mine because it is password protected that was changed when new router was setup and programmed. I have an E4200 Linksys router. Furthermore I have a desktop running on Windows7 connected to the router with a wire. No problem there. I can connect to the Intenet via the E4200 and a modem.Then I have a notebook also running on Windows7. Until yesterday it was wireless (2,4 GHz) connected to the router and to the Internet, but now I can see the router on the networklist (so there is connection), but it will not make contact to the Internet. If I hook up the notebook with a line to the router it works OK.Then I have an iPad which makes a wireless connection to the Internet (via the router) for the 5 GHz option, but it does not make a connection with the 2,4 GHz option anymore (before yesterday this worked well). I did not change any settings on the Linksys or other network options, Can an update from McAfee make a difference (only for 2,4 GHz?).
called my internet company yesterday with a problem that my internet was not working.. so we went through some steps and basically he had me remove the wireless cord from the router put it into my computer (at the time it wasn't working via that either) and reset my ip, it started working after that and he just said I must've gotten a faulty ip. I haven't made any changes to my network or any configurations in about 2 weeks, during which the camera has worked fine locally as well as remotely. Now, if I unplug/plug it back in, the camera will immediately connect. However, after a period of time, it's no longer accessible, even from my local network. When I try to log-in to the camera or view it, it cannot be found or connected to. So it doesn't seem to be any of my configuration, but something that's intermittent or happens after awhile.

The problem is that the syslog collection suddently stops receiving logs and writing them into the syslog.log file
I have checked the following:
- Packet sniff to make sure that logs are being received on the server's NIC interface
- Checked the UDP port 514 is bound to the crmlog process.
- Checked the crmlog is running.
When i restart the server, the syslog connections works for a week or two and save the received logs in the syslog.log file, but after that it suddenly stops collecting log again, all the above points stays valid (service running, UDP Port...)
I have attached the LMS's modules versions installed on the server.
We are having issues with our Cisco ACE 4710, it suddenly stopped to telnet admin context.We are able to telnet another context from the same appliance, but unable to telnet the admin context. My network consists of two Macbooks, an iMac and two iPhones. It utilizes WAP2 encryption and all devices are well within range, the environment being free of interferences from any other WiFi signals (this is a rural area).
My problem: Bonjour networking stops working after a few minutes or hours. When the problem appears, WIRED devices can see all other peers in the network (both wired and wireless), but WIRELESS devices cannot see any other peers whatsoever (wired or wireless).
I have heard that this could be because of a faulty implementation of uPNP by Linksys, and in particular a problem with multicast filtering (and unfortunately the modem/router's firmware does not provide any relevant settings). But I am not sure.
I purchased this thing with the express purpose to use it on a Mac-only network, and I am thoroughly disappointed to see that it does not work, especially since UPNP is supposed to be supported.

So here's my setup:Computer A is connected directly to a cable modem box via USB. Computer B (which is sometimes a laptop and sometimes a desktop) is connected to Computer A and shares its internet connection via Ethernet because I am too cheap to buy a router.A few days ago we borrowed a Belkin wireless router so we could have both desktops, the laptop, and my fiance's iPod Touch access the internet at the same time. That worked fine but once we returned the router and tried to put everything back to normal, it didn't work. The only computer able to access the internet is Computer A (or whichever one is directly connected).I tried resetting the modem and restarting both machines. I tried disabling all of the connections that showed up from using the router.Windows states that the IP isn't properly configured or something of that nature. I tried setting it to automatically set the IP but to no avail.Here is the part that really confuses me - I can access Computer B from Computer A via LAN using the ethernet cable, so the connection between the two computers is fine.
Router randomly stops working and sometimes reconnects by it self and sometimes I have to manual reset the router. Also I only get 2-3 bars wireless. Is my router not configured properly or damaged?

For example, it works great when first rebooted, but the next morning web pages have timed out. When it is broken, I'm unable to connect to web pages via another wireless access point that i've plugged into the D-Link. I'm unable to use any of the wireless PCs or devices in my house.After it's rebooted, it works well for at least a few hours. It has the latest firmware and has basic, out of the box settings.
