View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just confirmed that everytime I try to stream music from my MacBook Pro (iTunes) that is connected to my WiFi network using the 5GHz mode (channel width is Auto, channel: Auto (DFS)) to a couple Airport Express cubes are connected via the 2.4 GHz WiFi (channel width: Auto, channel: 10) the E4200 router reboots. When I set the MBP to use the 2.4 GHz mode I can stream music without causing the E4200 to reboot. The E4200 is running firmware 1.0.03.

The error message that I get (loosely phrased) is: can't connect to Router. Please ensure the router is connected to the internet.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe recently upgraded to the linksys ea4500 router. My brother plays call of duty on the PS3 and I play call of duty on the Xbox. The issue is we cannot figure out how to have open NAT on both consoles at the same time. I've read multiple support guides, but they don't seem to work. I'm pretty sure it's possible since I've gotten both to be open after reseting the router. The problem is it doesn't stay open on both for very long. We can get one to be open, while the other is stuck on moderate.
We've tried port range forwarding and port range triggering. By default, the PS3 is open. To get the Xbox to open, i disable 'filter anonymous requests' in the security settings, and disable UPnP. (With UPnP enabled, the is ps3 is open & xbox is moderate, with it off, xbox is open and ps3 is moderate).
dlna server of ea4500 does not supports time seeking? No rewind? I have tryed to plug usb-flash with video files for testing before buying an external HDD and... REALLY no time seeking?

I want to setup the second EA4500 uplink(accesspoint) as the first EA4500. I dont find any interface to do it. I am able to do it wired(by connecting the both the routers through LAN ports). but I dont want to run cable across the house. know if it is possible with another firmware. Or should I return this new EA4500 and buy another router?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got my ea4500. the 50 Mbs from Comcast was killing my old wrt54gl. the thing where cisco connect and access thru the web interface step on each other, or when the web interface does not expose all the settings is annoying. because i didn't want a guest network, i had to go back to Cisco connect. and things did not work well. i ended up re-doing the whole thing, because i did not want a guest network and wanted diff settings for 2.4 and 5 Ghz.and logging after so many years and Linksys still does not include a date/time stamp for the events. logs without date/time are not very useful.

But for the time being I'm using it to connect to my current Linksys WAG200G ADSL Wireless Gateway.
Here's the issue I'm currently facing. I have set my EA4500 router default IP address to 192.168.1.10 to aviod conflicts with my gateway which is using 192.168.1.1. But everytime when I connect my router to the gateway, the router's default IP address changes to 10.179.159.126 or some other random IP address by itself whenever I try to change to back. However, I'm still able to surf the internet and stuffs with that current settings.
Is there something that I could do to prevent the IP address from changing by itself? And will the same thing happen again when I upgrade to fibre broadband?

Also, I have an XBox 360 connected via ethernet cable. Her MacBook however is constantly not getting an IP. I set her up with an EZ Key, but every time she connects we have to go through the EZ key process where I run Cisco Connect from my laptop. Why can't she just log in every time? This is frustrating me as all other aspects of this router work fine. I had her plugged into it as well with no problems. Again, it works after a dual computer Cisco Connect cycle, but my computer isn't always home.

So I was sent home with a Dell PowerConnect 5448 (a 48 port switch) with the project of getting a similar setup going with the computers i have at home. I have the switch set up, everything's on VLAN1, management IP is 192.168.2. 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway is 192.18.2.254, and the switch is properly sharing the my internet connection between three computers. That part was easy. So now, one of them is going to be either reformatted and set up with Vyatta, or I'm going to virtualize it. Either way, I need to route all the traffic through that firewall box before it goes to anything else on the switch so I can have a functional firewall.

On the Linksys E4200, the Internet wired connection side, I gave static IP address which is in the same network range as that of LAP2.When tried to ping from LAP1 to LAP2, ping doesnot happen. Any settings by which I can ping from LAP1 to LAP2.
I have the e4200 and I am having trouble getting DHCP reservation to work properly with my Windows 7 machines. Perhaps there is a step that I am missing. Basically I go to the DHCP reservation setup page, select my machine and add it to the reservation table. Then I save the changes. As soon as I do this my computer goes offline. If I reboot my machine, it is still offline. I've tried the same procedure to reserve the IP address for my phone and it works fine so I wonder if the problem is with Win7.

Just sold my computer and the plan was to buy a newer mac but we've been getting along fine without a computer with just using our iphones. So my question, I see that Cisco has the Connect Express app for the iphone, and I've read about all the features it has like changing settings, router features, etc. But I can't find anything on using the app for the initial set up of the router. I'm currently on an older linksys router (set up before we sold the computer) but it's time for a needed upgrade.

WMP doesnt let me browse the folders as they actually are on the HDD which is such a pain in the **bleep**.
shows a device in "network infrastructure" but it says problem sending command to the program when i click that. i dont want to have to view the HDD in WMP as a media device...
My new EA4500 (fw ver 2.0.36) won't obtain an IP from a Brighthouse TM502G cable modem. The EA4500 replaced a functioning WRT54G which would obtain an IP from the ISP. I've tried upgrading firmware and have used both straight-through and crossover cables between the EA4500 & TM502G to no avail. The EA4500 would issue IPs to it's clients, but not obtain one from it's TM502G. At the moment, all 3 are daisy-chained together with the old WRT54G in the middle in order to make the EA4500 work. Both WiFi and LAN ports function in this configuration.
