View 3 RepliesI was successful in configuring a new e1200 in bridge mode to extend my network. I did this with the routers side by side. In then moved the e1200 to a new location 150 feet away and it will not work. I previously had this working with an older linksys router. It will not deliver a Internet connection.

I have two LAN networks. Both using LINKSYS WAG54G2 Wireless + Gateway. I can create a VPN tunnel between the two networks to connect them. But since the data will be transferred over the internet, I want to know how safe it is. Is there anyway i can make it more secure?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have the Linksys E2000 and set it up on MacBookPro no problems. My iPhone 3G and my gf's iPhone4 connect no problem. Also, I have an XBox 360 connected via ethernet cable. Her MacBook however is constantly not getting an IP. I set her up with an EZ Key, but every time she connects we have to go through the EZ key process where I run Cisco Connect from my laptop. Why can't she just log in every time? This is frustrating me as all other aspects of this router work fine. I had her plugged into it as well with no problems. Again, it works after a dual computer Cisco Connect cycle, but my computer isn't always home.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSetup is two dynamic IP locations
1. first location RV042 is the gateway attached to ADSL modem
2. second location RV042 is behind BT home hub gateway - for now the BTHH DMZ is enabled to the RV042
Followed the user manual config for two dynamic IP but it seems that the RV042 behind the BTHH obviously has a different IP than the resolved IP and is causing problems with connection.
This from the log file:
Jan 14 15:04:16 2011 VPN Log Received Vendor ID payload Type = [Dead Peer Detection]
Jan 14 15:04:16 2011 VPN Log [Tunnel Negotiation Info] <<< Responder Received Aggressive Mode 1st packet

Jan 14 15:04:16 2011 VPN Log initial Aggressive Mode packet claiming to be from 81.156.xxx.xx on 81.156.xxx.xx

There are NO INSTRUCTIONS -
do they go to the "boss computer" and then? I just don't know and feel too stupid to say I'm not sure. It's probably very easy but, it's been years since I've worked on Networks.
I'm trying to setup my linksys e1000 router as an access point and I cant figure out how to log in to it to change its settings. I've done every reset procedure I can think of but when I power it up it still shows up as a "security enables network".
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a WAG120N annex A on firmware v1.00.16, which appears to be working fine with a variety of devices (iPhone, squeezebox, vista pc, linux pc, android) via wireless and ethernet.
However, my Macbook 4,1 running OSX 10.6.6 keeps losing internet connection regularly and the only way to get it back is to turn the airport off and then on again. It's very odd, appears to still be connected to the router but just can't access the internet!
The Airport version and driver is: AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x88) Firmware Version: Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (5.10.131.36.1)
Signal drops constantly and seems to be a problem with the Mac more than the router IMHO but i thought to register the problem here.
I'm not alone as many users on the Apple support forum are experiencing the same drops via airport and with different routers.. Lan line works fine for me with no issues
I will update the firmware and try that as it seems i am running old firmware V2.00.13
My modem CAN connect to the Internet but my router CANNOT. I've called my ISP (Brighthouse) and went through a whole process of bypassing the router, restarting the modem for 2 minutes, and restarting the router for 30 seconds. Then I even got assistance from the router's maker (Linksys) by switching the IP address of the router, they said this could be the issue if my modem had the same IP address. I switched it to 192.168.2.1, but still no luck. I do not know what to do now. The new router is a Linksys E1000. I haven't got the specs of my modem yet.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Comcast Router pushing out IP's in the 10.1.10.X range. I want to hookup a Linksys E1000 Router so I can use its wireless & Guest access features. The Linksys is using the 192.168.1.x range. I have a cable from the comcast router running into the Internet port of the Linksys. I have tried changing the Linksys router IP to 10.1.10.x and turning off DHCP. It will not allow me to the internet nor allow the PC connected to it to connect to the PC that is attached to the Comcast Router. I cannot replace the Comcast as it is a combi router/modem.
