One is running at 18Mbps, the other two at 0.4Mbps. the internet setting are the same and the security is the same (WPA2-Personal with AES encryption). One of the slow computers is brand new and WAY faster than my "fast internet" computer. The other is about the same as the "fast internet" computer. I updated the I connected the new computer to the router tusing an ethernet cable and it had superfast internet. I redid the Cisco connect on each computer, but it didnt change anything. Why is it so slow wirelessly?

Jan 31, 2013Everything in our small network worked until today when I had to manually reset the router. We run a application through a provider which requires that we view it from the same IP address for access. We have a statis IP assigned by our ISP solely for this purpose. For simplicity, lets us 23.11.23.176 as the statis assigned by our ISP and 23.11.23.175 as the gateway also assigned by our ISP. The application we need to browse requires that we use the 23.11.23.175 address else it is blocked from viewing. When we hard line into the modem, we are able to browse it fine. When I connect the CISCO router and do it wirelessly, it shows our address as 23.11.23.176 what are the required steps in order to set the CISCO router to use the Gateway address as the browsing IP for computers connected to it. We had set it up about a year ago, and i completely forgot how.

Jul 21, 2011I have a big house so I have a e4200 on one end of the house upstairs and the WAP610n on the other end downstairs linked via CA6. I am having no issues with Laptops etc..just with Apple devices. I spent a lot of time with chat support (waste of time). WAP was flashed with latest firmware via hard wire no devices connected to wireless, has same ssid and security settings as router running on 2.4 ghz wpa2 personal AES. I am using 2.4 due to iphone4 does not support 5ghz and wap does not support dual band (another bummer). I am using AES instead of TKIP/AES mixed mode due to apple devices will not acquire dhcp with this setting and if they do they lose it right away. I have tried everything imaginable with the settings even changed beacon to 75, 50 RTS to 2304 etc...the current setting are the only ones that seem to work the best however when i run speedtest.net LA server or SD server the performance is horrible. On windows laptop i can achieve 27mbps down 2.5mbpsup, my apple devices use to achieve very close numbers to that on a simple configuration with two Dlink DGL-4300's one as router one as AP (G mode). So two major issues i have noticed is WAP610N has issues passing DHCP to apple devices and has extremely poor performance. So my question is will there be a firmware to correct this issue or a new hardware version that i can exchange this for if I RMA it or would it be best to call it a day and just get a E3200 and use it as a real simultaneous dual band AP???

Feb 10, 2011I've got an RV042 router at home and am connected from my office via the QuickVPN client ver 1.4.1.1.2. I can ping the RV042 and log into the administration page and make changes. However, I can not see other computers on the remote network. I can not ping them. When I open my Network page, I still see the computers on my local network.
All machines are running Windows 7 Ultimate. ISP is Comcast at both locations. WAN IP's are dynamic, but have not changed in over a year. Local IP's on the remote (home) network are static..[url]....

Every other website we have tried works just fine. I have tried the following.Remove the WRT310N router and plug a computer directly into the broadband modem. After this everything works fine for the one computer I have hooked into the internet.Remove the WRT310N router and substitute an old Linksys non-wireless router. Everything works fine for the hardwired computers on the LAN. Again, not really an option, need wireless access.
Unplug the router and so a soft reset. Still blocks this one website.I have not done a hard reset to factory specs. I wasn't looking forward to redoing everything I had set up.I looked over every setting in this router and can't find anything that would cause it to block a web page. I am far from a networking expert, but most of the settings seem pretty obvious.

I cannot access this site from any of the computers/ devices in our house, whether they be connected by ethernet or wireless. However, when i move to a different network, I can connect to this site immediately from exactly the devices that do not connect in our house.
How can I determine how/if the router is somehow blocking this site? I have reset the router and upgraded the firmware. Same problem persists. I see nothing in the router settings that would be blocking this site, and I have certainly done nothing intentional in the settings to block this. We used to be able to connect to this with no problems, but all of a sudden, we are blocked.

A few days ago it was working fine, and between then and now I made no changes to my network, it just stopped working one day, I assumed the website was down but it turns out that I am able to access the website fine on other networks or via proxies. Sep 12, 2009Setting up website blocking. I have set up access restrictions for selected times and days but I also want to set up access restrictions for webistes. Perhaps I'm just not clear on how this is supposed to work - I created a policy called 'Site' and then enter the URL in the website blocking area. The options under the 'Access Restrictions' area are either 'Allow' or 'Deny' - intuitively one would assume the selection should be 'Deny' since this policy is to block access to specific URL's. However, if I click 'Deny' and then save, then the URL's I just entered are cleared. However, if I select 'Allow' then I am essentially giving 24hour access every day to my computers (but blocking the URLs), which then seems to go against the access restrictions I set up for selected times and days. Perhaps these two policies are mutually exclusive but it does not seem clear that it is.
