Sep 7, 2011I have a Linksys WRT120N that I use at home for wireless connectivity, with a total of three laptops that connect wirelessly, plus my Samsung Intercept phone. It's a mixed Wireless G and N network; the laptops run Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.The issue I'm having is this: the computers and phone do not stay connected on this network. Here's a for instance:Monday: I am able to connect wirelessly to my network with my laptop.Tuesday: I cannot connect to the same network; repairing the connection does nothing.Now substitute my laptop for the one running Windows 7, or Vista, or my phone.At that point, I have to power the router down and power it back on, and then we're back in business. The router currently is running version 1.0.05 of the firmware.

Jan 6, 2012I have a Linksys WRT120N with two desktops connected via wired connections.In the house, there are two students accessing the Internet through WiFi via the WRT120N.One of the laptops (on an Apple laptop) seems to lose its' connection from time to time.The other laptop (Lenovo) is located the furthest distance from the router and only gets two bars signal strength.Would my best option to improve the signal strength for the Lenovo laptop and hopefully, also increase reliability for the Apple laptop be to purchase a new router such as a Linksys E1500 with speed boost or would it be best to try a Linksys range extender (RE1000)?

Jun 24, 2012I've been using a WRT120N on a local area connection.The WRT120N acts as a gateway and also to connect to the PPOE connection, via a bridged adsl modem.I've noticed that the LAN port 1 was flashing although the network cable was disconnected from the physical port. I've restarted a few times but to no avail as well. Ever since that, I've noticed that connection through cable are unstable and hard.Now, I'm not able to reset or upgrade the router's firmware.Is there any other way to be done so that I can get this router working as normal again.

Jul 6, 2012My Wireless-N Home Router WRT120N with version 1.0.07 seems to have a problem blocking Sites through scheduling with Access Restriction "Allow" ...I notice that... when I enable access restriction, with policy and some range of computers connecting to my router , and set it to "allow" from "monday - friday" from "8am-6pm" .. with a purpose of blocking some social networking sites, example facebook, It works perfectly fine. But when the "scheduled" time comes ( before 8am and after 6pm ).. I cannot access the internet.. router is working, it detects my modem.. but no internet connection. It always happen before and after the "scheduled time" before the configured access restriction takes over. I have to disable the Access Restriction to continue our internet access.

Jan 7, 2011I have been using Mozilla Firefox for about 5 or 6 years now, and I have always been able to access any router setup through Firefox. Now though, I strangely can't. I try to log in from Firefox and I get stuck at the log in dialog box even if I use the correct password. If I cancel, the router assumes that I do not know the password and I get the standard Linksys access denied page. I then start using IE[current version], and I can log in absolutely fine. I can still use Firefox to browse the internet. I can ping the router. I can use Firefox to access the router setup from a different machine.

Apr 18, 2013WRT120N router: After several hours on the phone with Technical support I got nowhere. Guy had me putting in "admin" in the user name then the PW. I kept getting the 401 authorization required message. After all that I reset my router and used the disk to setup again. After that I went again to the 192.168.1.1 and got the request for authorization, entered admin in the PW and it does nothing, just reloads the request and browser keeps connecting. I have WIN 7 HP, use Firefox 5.0 mostly, but tried on IE8 as well and it does the same thing. I am attempting to open a port.

At around 18.00 i returned home and i was trying to connect to the wifi with my android phone, and suprisingly it did not work. I tried on my laptop and on a android tablet. It did not work. The only thing that i could figure it out is to reset the router. I checked the settings, and there was no access policy e.g. time based access blocking.

Aug 24, 2012I have NM 5.5.9195.0 and WRT120N Linksys router. I have an Ipod using WIFI to connect to the network which I would like to restrict times for. Using the access restriction page in the manage/setup of the router seems to not work well. The system does recognize the MAC address of the Ipod but setting times to allow or deny gives me odd results. The allow button actually denies use for one thing. Secondly, the deny time ends, but the Ipod still cannot connect sometimes. It is like the system gets stuck in deny. I have tested using a random 5 minute deny time period, yet the Ipod is denied all times. The system is consistent in denying the Ipod (actually using the allow button) but not on the times.

The password prompt appears but won't proceed from there.Second, and main issue is that frequently (several times a day) I get a 'Limited Access' error on my wireless connection. On mouse roll over Windows 7 Pro gives the error message 'no internet access'. This problem appears to resolve itself after several minutes or straight away if the router is powercycled. Oct 5, 2012Device: Linksys E1500 - firmware: 1.0.01? I've got a static IP setup for a small remote office and want to keep tabs on their internet connection by pinging it via a monitoring program we use. However, the router seems to not responding to ICMP.
- Filter Anonymous Internet Requests is unchecked.- I've verified that the Static IP is correct.
- I've tried pinging from several remote locations on different connections, with no avail.
I can't seem to figure out why i can't ping this device. I just want to make sure there isn't a setting in the wireless router that is preventing echo replies.The only other thing i can assume is that Comcast is filtering ICMP on their side of the WAN connection.EDIT: Here's a traceroute from my PC to the WAN side of the Linksys....

Feb 3, 2013Linksys Wireless router connected but no access to the internet. I do not have a modem in my flat from ISP, only a cable, since the internet is set for every apartment in the building. I have a username and password that I use to connect. There is no problem connecting with the cable. I set up by Belkin wireless router and I'm actually connected to internet wireless but it only works if I also enable the primary ISP connection on my computer so my laptop is connected to internet without a cable. But this weird connection does not allow me to connect my phone to wireless or any other computer. Also the router settings site says not connected to internet and the internet light on Belkin is off.I have a Slovenian ISP -Amis, cable connection and Belkin Wireless modem, Avira Free antivirus.

Jul 27, 2011It's been a pretty darn good router for about 8 months now, then today one of the wireless connected PC's started to go intermittent internet, and then dropped the connection.
At first I thought it was the PC, but after checking other connected items (wii, PS3, another pc, 2 ipods, and 2 printers) I discovered all the wireless connections were dropped, and no one could see the SSID. An hour unplugged fixes nothing. 2 wired ports are working fine though.
When it's uplugged and then plugged in, all the little lights come on, then go out, and then, only the 2 wired port lights come on, nothing else.

Apr 10, 2012I have a Linksys E1000 device that is connected to a DSL connection through a modem. I have a Laptop that is wirelessly connected to the router and a PC that is connected via cable. Lately, a problem started to occur where the router keeps losing the internet connection and Laptop tell me that it connected to the router but there in no internet access and the same thing happens to the PC, both disconnect at the same time. I called my ISP company when this happens and they told me that the connection is working fine and everything look ok from there. I connected my PC directly to the modem and it worked fine so problem is not from modem. When i go to the router settings at the moment this occurs, it shows that all IPs are 00000 and status is "Connecting" and then it connects and changes to "connected" and everything fine till like 15 minutes later where this happens again (sometimes, it actually disconnects again after like 15 seconds!). I took the router to the dealer and he examined it and told me there is nothing wrong but he updated the firmware and told me to try it but same thing so he exchanged it for a new one and problem is still there!

Nov 30, 2012One of my computers suddenly is "connected with limited access" to my wireless network. That computer is operating with Windows Vista. The router I'm using as Model WRT-160N V3. My second computer, operating with Windows 7, has complete access; it's the computer on which I'm working right now. I have reset the router (unplugging everything and waiting 15 seconds before plugging in again), and I have rebooted the other computer. I suspect that somehow some of the applicable settings have been modified on the affected computer, but I don't have the knowledge about what the settings should be or where they are maintained.
