However, when I try to log onto the internet, it says no internet connection (same in the available net work section in the menu bar).Internet (Charter) they have checked the modem and there is no issue. I have also plugged the Ethernet cord directly from the modem into the computer, and unable to access the internet.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just bought a factory refurbished E1200. The label on the bottom says it is a Version 2 model. When I purchased it, it was loaded with 2.0.02 firmware but I upgraded the firmware to 2.0.04.My problem is that I'm trying to setup MAC address-based restrictions thru the manual/web-based setup and when I click on the "Access Restrictions" tab, I only have simple "Parental Controls" and not the advanced "Internet Access Policy".Is it possible that I have a mislabeled V1 device? If that is the case, how is it that I was able to upgrade the firmware using firmware from the V2 downloads section.
Do V! and V2 units use the same firmware but more importantly, how do I upgrade the built-in software so that I have the advanced "Internet Access Policy" controls?
I have WRT150N, with firmware version 1.01.9 and I can not get the internet access policy to work. Here are my settings: PC list is configured through IP range as follows:Even if I deny internet access completely, I can still access the internet.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm just about to trade-in an E4200v2 for a E4200v1, primarily to regain the "Internet Access Policy" capability.
Just wanted to do a reality check with those of you who tried/use IAP... does it work basically as advertised?
I would be using IAP to specify MAC addr's of devices, blocking them from certain URL's and limiting their hours of Internet access.
And I plan to have Linksys's DHCP Server turned OFF, since my Windows Server handles DHCP on my network.
Should I expect all of this to work OK? No major reliability problems with IAP?
I have a problem with my Router WRT120N wen I connect to router with wireless are wired it`s not giving me Internet access but the light on the router of Internet is ON if I put the internet cable directed to my computer give me internet.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOn E4200 Firmware Version: 1.0.03, I managed to successfully set up "Internet Access Policy" (not the "Parental Controls") to set up the times when internet access is disabled for various IPs on my network.
But I could't setup a policy to block facebook.com. What I am doing wrong? See the attached screen shot. I did click the "Edit List" and apply this polity to the IP Address Range 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254.

I changed internet provider and now when it type 192.168.1.1 in the browser it says Internet explorer can't show the web page. I've tried Crome and FireFox but with the same result. I followed the instructions in [URL] but to no result.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Wireless-N Home Router WRT120N with version 1.0.07 seems to have a problem blocking Sites through scheduling with Access Restriction "Allow" ...I notice that... when I enable access restriction, with policy and some range of computers connecting to my router , and set it to "allow" from "monday - friday" from "8am-6pm" .. with a purpose of blocking some social networking sites, example facebook, It works perfectly fine. But when the "scheduled" time comes ( before 8am and after 6pm ).. I cannot access the internet.. router is working, it detects my modem.. but no internet connection. It always happen before and after the "scheduled time" before the configured access restriction takes over. I have to disable the Access Restriction to continue our internet access.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI reset my router (WRT120N) and used a laptop with cable connection to reconfigure the router. With the laptop I can acces the router admin wireless, but with my home pc I am not able to acces the router! I get "The username or password you've entered is incorrect. Please check and try again." Like I said, wireless acces with laptop is no problem. Is this a security issue that allows only acces with computer that you configured the router?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been using Mozilla Firefox for about 5 or 6 years now, and I have always been able to access any router setup through Firefox. Now though, I strangely can't. I try to log in from Firefox and I get stuck at the log in dialog box even if I use the correct password. If I cancel, the router assumes that I do not know the password and I get the standard Linksys access denied page. I then start using IE[current version], and I can log in absolutely fine. I can still use Firefox to browse the internet. I can ping the router. I can use Firefox to access the router setup from a different machine.

WRT120N router: After several hours on the phone with Technical support I got nowhere. Guy had me putting in "admin" in the user name then the PW. I kept getting the 401 authorization required message. After all that I reset my router and used the disk to setup again. After that I went again to the 192.168.1.1 and got the request for authorization, entered admin in the PW and it does nothing, just reloads the request and browser keeps connecting. I have WIN 7 HP, use Firefox 5.0 mostly, but tried on IE8 as well and it does the same thing. I am attempting to open a port.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi have router lynksys WRT120N and the latest 1.0.0.7 firmware. And the problem occured frequently. At about 13.00 i went out, wifi was working okay. At around 18.00 i returned home and i was trying to connect to the wifi with my android phone, and suprisingly it did not work. I tried on my laptop and on a android tablet. It did not work. The only thing that i could figure it out is to reset the router. I checked the settings, and there was no access policy e.g. time based access blocking.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have NM 5.5.9195.0 and WRT120N Linksys router. I have an Ipod using WIFI to connect to the network which I would like to restrict times for. Using the access restriction page in the manage/setup of the router seems to not work well. The system does recognize the MAC address of the Ipod but setting times to allow or deny gives me odd results. The allow button actually denies use for one thing. Secondly, the deny time ends, but the Ipod still cannot connect sometimes. It is like the system gets stuck in deny. I have tested using a random 5 minute deny time period, yet the Ipod is denied all times. The system is consistent in denying the Ipod (actually using the allow button) but not on the times.

View 8 Replies View RelatedFor home use, I have a Windows Vista PC which is hooked up to the Internet via a wireless EV/DO modem that plugs into a USB port. I just bought an iPad and for connectivity, I then bought a WRT120N wireless router. But I cannot attach the EV/DO modem to the WRT120N since the EV/DO only has a USB port. I plugged the PC into one of the 4 ports of the WRT120N and the iPad sees the router, but what I would like is that it also sees the internet when the PC is online via the EV/DO modem. Is there a way to configure this? I realize that the PC would always have to be switched on if I want to have the iPad online, but for the time being I am ok with that.
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently I bought a new laptop (Sony Vaio SVE1511HFXW) and I haven't been able to connect it to the internet wirelessly. I previously was working on a Sony Vaio VGN-NR series laptop that I had no problem setting up a wireless connection for. I ran my router set up disc on the new machine and basically everything got ruined. My other laptop lost it's wireless connection and connecting it with an ethernet cable didn't work either. So now both computers were not connected. Actually, all devices can't pick up the wireless anyway (I tried to get on netflix with my Wii and it didn't work) I restarted the router several times, reset it once and nothing happened. I could only connect with the cable after I reset the modem and router, but it's still saying it "can't detect an internet connection." When I ping the router I get an answer back.
Here's what I get when I run ipconfig in the command prompt:
C:UsersShinsei>ipconfig

I've reset my router, reinstalled Cisco Connect and didn't configure anything on parental controls. However, when I navigate to the "Access Policy" menu all I see is parental controls. I don't see any of the more sophisticated filtering menus like "access blocking policy", etc. I've attached a screenshot.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a WRT120N with Firmware 1.0.06..First peculiarity is that I can't access the web based admin screen from Firefox 7.0.1. The password prompt appears but won't proceed from there.Second, and main issue is that frequently (several times a day) I get a 'Limited Access' error on my wireless connection. On mouse roll over Windows 7 Pro gives the error message 'no internet access'. This problem appears to resolve itself after several minutes or straight away if the router is powercycled. During these 'Limited Access' moments I am unable to connect to the route web based admin page nor ping or tracert. [code]
