View 4 RepliesI am currently using a Linksys E2500 router and cannot get a strong enough signal to an upstairs bedroom for my wife's iPad 2. I have a spare Linksys WRT120N that I would like to utilize to increase the signal upstairs. There is no way I can run a CAT 5 cable to that room. I believe both routers have WDS.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using a WRT120N and have had no problems connecting most wireless devices, but a Nintendo DS and DSi owned by my family are unable to connect to the access point. My wireless security mode is disabled, network mode is set to mixed, SSID is the same as on the DS/DSi, Channel width is 20Mhz only, Standard channel is set to 6, but I tried using channel 1 and 11 without success, SSID broadcast is enabled.
I've tried every work-about I could find and always get the 51300 error code, and am at a loss as to what else I can try to get the devices to connect to the access point.
Is it possible to configure WRT120n as an access point?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a linksys WRT120N router as a Access point in my student dorm (according to the rules!). As long as i used it as a router, I never had problems with the speed. But now, the connection is very slow. For example, when I am wirelessly connected to the AP, and when I ping the main router of the building, I see packet drops and some packets have more than 4000ms rtt. (while normally it should be b/w 0 and 1 ms). So as I understand it, there is some problem between the AP and my computer in the wireless channel or something but I have no clue.I am using the latest firmware from the CISCO website.

The destinaton were unreachable with only WRT120N.it's look like this (what i want for the network on my home) : [code] i already tried to setting the WAP4410 as a wireless WDS repeater, and wireless client/repeater (with and without "Allow wireless stations to associate"). both were unable to connect (limited), although i get the signal. for the IP on the WAP4410N (192.168.0.50), i used static IP [IP, Subnet and Default Gateway were fill in] within the WRT120N range (192.168.0.2 ->192.168.0.51)
- how i configure my WAP4410N as a repeater?
- is there any settings that i must set on the WRT120N, before combining the WAP4410N?
I can't access the web based setup via 192.168.1.1. I've had this problem since I swapped to Static Ip from PPPoE. I changed internet provider and now when it type 192.168.1.1 in the browser it says Internet explorer can't show the web page. I've tried Crome and FireFox but with the same result. I followed the instructions in [URL] but to no result.

But when the "scheduled" time comes ( before 8am and after 6pm ).. I cannot access the internet.. router is working, it detects my modem.. but no internet connection. View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been using Mozilla Firefox for about 5 or 6 years now, and I have always been able to access any router setup through Firefox. Now though, I strangely can't. I try to log in from Firefox and I get stuck at the log in dialog box even if I use the correct password. If I cancel, the router assumes that I do not know the password and I get the standard Linksys access denied page. I then start using IE[current version], and I can log in absolutely fine. I can still use Firefox to browse the internet. I can ping the router. I can use Firefox to access the router setup from a different machine.

WRT120N router: After several hours on the phone with Technical support I got nowhere. Guy had me putting in "admin" in the user name then the PW. I kept getting the 401 authorization required message. After all that I reset my router and used the disk to setup again. After that I went again to the 192.168.1.1 and got the request for authorization, entered admin in the PW and it does nothing, just reloads the request and browser keeps connecting. I have WIN 7 HP, use Firefox 5.0 mostly, but tried on IE8 as well and it does the same thing. I am attempting to open a port.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi have router lynksys WRT120N and the latest 1.0.0.7 firmware. And the problem occured frequently. At about 13.00 i went out, wifi was working okay. At around 18.00 i returned home and i was trying to connect to the wifi with my android phone, and suprisingly it did not work. I tried on my laptop and on a android tablet. It did not work. The only thing that i could figure it out is to reset the router. I checked the settings, and there was no access policy e.g. time based access blocking.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have NM 5.5.9195.0 and WRT120N Linksys router. I have an Ipod using WIFI to connect to the network which I would like to restrict times for. Using the access restriction page in the manage/setup of the router seems to not work well. The system does recognize the MAC address of the Ipod but setting times to allow or deny gives me odd results. The allow button actually denies use for one thing. Secondly, the deny time ends, but the Ipod still cannot connect sometimes. It is like the system gets stuck in deny. I have tested using a random 5 minute deny time period, yet the Ipod is denied all times. The system is consistent in denying the Ipod (actually using the allow button) but not on the times.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a FIOS setup with their Router/modem providing DHCP and Wireless routing. The problem I have is that I have a mix of older equipment and newer equipment. The newer equipment is capable of supporting WPA2, the older is not. I would like the benefits of WPA2, but still would like to at times be able to use the older equipment. My solution was to use a WRT160N v2 router that I had as an access point and it also gives me switch capabilities for wired systems as the FIOS router in on a different floor than the Linksys router. Wired access works just fine and the wireless worked fine until just recently.Since both routers have the same default IP addresses I changed the Linksys to a different static IP and turned off DHCP. I left all of the other defaults the same. I set up the Linksys for WEP and created the key for security. Everything worked fine for the better part of a year, but recently I am having problems where some of the computers cannot find the network or find it then lose connection.

I seem to remember it being troublesome. I know I have to assign a different IP address (currently I'm using 192.168.1.113.) What other settings (if any) need to be changed?

I am using a newer wireless router but would like to use my older wrt54g router as an access point (wired and wireless) at the other end of my house. how to do it, and what the specific settings should be, especially the security settings. I can connect the wrt54g via a homeplug (cannot run a LAN cable). I had previously tried an Aztech wireless homeplug but found the security feature to be worthless and everyone was able to "break-in".
