Checking the TCPView, under the "Local Address" in TCPView, my local ip port 192.168.0.100 began to show up when I was using the internet, usually my computers name is used for the "Local Address".
Earlier today I ran a netstat, I hadnt use the computer for almost an hour so I was suprised to see that multiple connections ('Time Wait') to my router 192.168.1.1 had been made. I dont understand how that could be since I had not logged into the router for some hours.
We suddenly noticed high CPU utilization on one of our 7600 routers. I output of show process CPU showed high utlization for the FM core process. I looked it up but did not find information on what this process does. [code]
I own a Dell Latitude D600 that I purchased off of Ebay a few months ago. For the past month I have been having an issue with my wireless card. My problem started when I turned on my computer and booted up and when my desktop loaded, no wireless icon or signal strength showed on the bottom right hand corner where are the other icons are. I went to Device Manager and in the Network adapter section was an exclamation point next to the Dell Wireless 1450 Dual Band WLan mini pci card which showed that there is a code 10 error. I have tried uninstalling it but then I would always get the BSOD with the BCMWL5.sys error. I have tried updating the driver as well but it would tell me that it already is up to date. I have also tried reinstalling my OS but my code 10 error always returns. When I opened up my laptop to see if the card is the cables are loose (which they weren't), I noticed that my wireless card is the Broadcom 4309.
I would also like to ask exactly what order am I suppose to have all of my drivers installed? I am almost positive that I am not installing them correctly. I have seen websites that say to install the Intel Chipset and O2 Smart Card first and then the NSS and so on.
i'm trying to setup a local DNS server to manage small office local-only domain names for our servers. i have the DNS working properly (resolving local machines and using the ISP dns if it can't). so i put the DNS server ip into the "Static DNS 1" field of the router settings. the other 2 static dns fields are empty.the problem is that the router is still using the ISP dns server as the primary and my local dns server as the secondary. i verify this in two places. first, if i go to the "status" tab, DNS 1 shows the ISP server while DNS 2 shows my local DNS server. secondly, if i connect to the wireless device with a linux-based machine, the /etc/resolv.conf file shows the nameserver ips in the same incorrect order.
I have a weird issue I have never seen before and am trying to get some answers. I setup a laptop for one of our employees who works out in the field. We typically login to the machine while on the network with a domain account. This is so the password gets cached and they can login to the machine once they receive it. I sent a laptop to this one guy (who is rather tech savvy-so I know it is not user error) and he could not login to the laptop using his network credentials. I was able to get him on his home network using his router, and I RDP'ed into the machine. When I was remotely connected, I was able to login to the PC with no problem. However, after I disconnected, he tried to login also and it kept telling him that the domain was not available? It wasn't even an "invalid password or login" error.I ended up creating another local account on the machine so he could work, but I am stumped as to why he could not login locally, but I could using RDP.
I've recently been having issues getting a wireless connection with my laptop (specifically dv6700) running vista. I had previously run it for 2 years without issue, but after returning from Sweden (where there was again no issue connecting wirelessly) I have often only been able to get local access. This isn't on all networks - my University library network works fine, for example, but my flat's personal network as well as my parents' network, as well as a local cafe which I had previously connected to fine, only get local access.
I have a cisco router 2811 connected on other two routers but can't ping any of them from any of them too (frame-relay encap correct) DLCI mapping ok all ip configured only router 2 's line protocol is up the rest is down on others and seems LMI sent are not receive and do know how correct that
I recently got ATT u-verse and the POS 2wire modem/router won't let my local computers connect. I can FTP into my PS3, but can't run a media server. Can't share files between computers & can't connect to my Directv receiver with Directv2PC Everything worked before the u-verse. tried changing firewall settings, but no luck. tried turning off the firewalls on the computers, no luck. all devices have internet connectivity and are connected to the same RG through either a wired or wireless connection. .tried hooking another routers WAN port to a LAN port on the u-verse modem, with and withouit a different subnet, with and without DHCP......
i have 2 ftp servers running on windows server 2008 r2 with IIS 7.0 FTP 1 on port 21 works seamlessly, however my second FTP i have port 2121 will when "accessed" via [URL] from inside the router everything will work fine, once attempted to use the ISP address outside or even inside the router everything goes sour. i do recieve a login prompt but the page times out after credentials are supplied, i have configured the firewall to allow 2121 inbound and 2120 outboud, for shits n giggles i allowed 2120 inbound, that didnt work so i deleted that entry after the fact. Ports are forwarded, and to my best knowelege the firewall is configured correctly.
I am having a problem with my router, it keeps going to Local Only, I turn it off/on at the electrics, it works fine for 20 mins, then goes back to Local Only.I have had the same router for a few years, no problems before.
- ISP Virgin Media UK
- Router: Belkin F5D9230-4
- It is not the modem/internet, because it works fine when I plug it in (I am plugged in right now so I can ask on this forum)
- My Router is secured by 128 Bit WEP - 26 digits
Things I have tried from various other posts:
- Turned off IVP6 / Settings to auto-connect to IVP6 - did not work
- Restarted router via 192.168.2.1 - did not work
- Deleted the wireless connection, then re-connected to it - did not work
I haven't really done anything recently that I think might affect this, not that I can think of...
My internet is really slow and i keep getting disconnected. the ipv6 box says local only. when i uncheck it it goes to limited my pc is running vista home premium
when i do netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log AND netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log - the command prompt says Reseting Echo Request,Failed.Access is denied. There's no user specified settings to be reset.
I have several devices connected to a homehub at my home. These include smart phones, desktop computer xbox 360 and a laptop. All work fine except the laptop which until the other day (when I uninstalled Norton Security off it) has been unable to connect to the internet. The laptop has Windows Vista SP 2. I searched the forums already for any details of how to rectify this and have seen mentioned the commands netsh int ip reset reset.log (along with Ipv4 and ipv6) and netsh winsock reset catalog? went to add/remove programmes to get rid of Norton and have sinced tried to use the Norton removal tool which every time I copy it across to the laptop from my desktop when I try to run it it says it is corrupt.I was then referred to a uninstall tool called Revo which I used to remove any symantec or Norton it could find.I have also turned off windows firewall and Im still not finding a resolution.

I dont currently have access to the router and i was wondering is there a anti-virus program that allows you to block ports to the local pc? Or is there another way to block programs using peer-peer network connections such as PPS.
I am on Windows Vista, attempting to share my laptop's internet connection (via 3G Huawei Dongle) with my iphone 4GS (via the laptop's wireless card). The iphone detects and connects to the laptop's ad-hoc connection fine, but when attempting to go online with safari, an alert message says that safari is not connected to the internet. From the Network and Sharing center, the ad-hoc connection's access is "local only". I have already enabled ICS on the dongled connection, so this shouldn't be the case.
My HP laptop connects to our wnr0003(or whatever it is) router but it says local only. When we took it to best buy, it connected there to the Internet oddly. And even odder, last year we had THE SAME router and it DID in fact, connect to the Internet, using the same router and all. So my question is, how do I fix this?
i,m having problems connecting my laptop to wifi at home to my sky router, have tried connecting at starbucks free wifi with success so sure its not the driver, reset laptop to factory settings and also reset router to original settings but still no joy followed all prompts from computer to rectify problem via internoh i,m running vista home an the laptop is the amilo Li 2727 fujitsu siemens.
I have two laptops I am working on. The gentleman who owns the laptops recently got an air port router for his macs. Well, the two HPs that he has, both of their wireless cards stopped connecting to his network. Nor, will the connect to mine. If I connect it through Ethernet, the internet works great. If I connect it through wireless, local only every time.I have tried renewing the ip address. Disabled the IPv6. Uninstalled Norton in case it had a block on it. Disabled firewall temporarily. Uninstalled all Air Port files. I am absolutely boggled on what this guy could have done.
I have a Dell desktop with Windows XP Home Edition. I recently restored the computer to factory settings and when I tried connecting to the internet the Local Area Connection wasn't showing in My Network Places. I have been searching through other forums and tried the things that they suggested but nothing worked. I am trying to connect to an AT&T U-verse 2Wire router through a wired connection. I tried connecting both wirelessly and wired to another computer and everything worked fine. I checked the Device Manager and there is an ! mark next to the Ethernet Controller. The properties say that the drivers for that device aren't installed. And of course I can't install them since I can't access the internet. Other forums suggested that I check the network adapters option in Device Manager but that isn't available in the device manager.
I'm having a tough time with VPNing into work.I'm the network admin.I set up the Windows 2003 RRAS server. I'm finding that the remote clients have "either / or" connectivity.Once a client is connected, it either has local Internet without LAN resources OR it has the needed LAN resources but no local Internet.I can watch continuous pings work, fail and start up again depending on the VPN connection.
I have a computer that when I try to connect to internet using the linksys wireless adapter it says local only connection. It has windows vista OS. What can I do to get it to work?
when we hooked our computers into our lan swich, which is a 3com dual speed switch 8, all of our machines reported that there was local or no conectivity.according to ipconfig, we all had addresses of 169.254.xxx.xxx, so we manually set the ip addresses, and still nothing.finally, we reset the router, and still nothing?!
I have an hp laptop running on vista. When I connect my laptop wirelessly to the Thomson router it shows local and internet but I can't browse the internet! But when I connect the router to the laptop with the Ethernet cable everything works fine
i configured pix 525 for easy vpn. About 100 to 200 people will use this service. i dont have much knowledge about radius and tacacas servers. Is local data base enough for extended authentication or should i configure the server for it ?
Is it possable to use rsa token on the ASA without setting up any other server just using the ASA, out clients use the cisco vpn client version 5.0.07.0290 and IOS 8.3(1), How would this be done?
I'm setting up a facility with many different computers where I don't have access to their hosts files. How would I map test.com to a local server without using the hosts file? Can this be done using a simple home router?
I'd like to be able to tell guests: "If you're on our wifi, you can just go to test.com to view our local website."I'd prefer to keep answers hardware-agnostic, I'm using a D-link DIR-655.
How can I map a domain name to an IP address and port?
i am trying to use ApexDC++ using a wifi router for local LAN sharing. The problem is that when i connect the LAN cable on LAN port of the router i am able to connect to local HUB but at the same time unable to connect to internet. And when i connect the LAN cable on internet port of the router i get connected to the internet but unable to connect to local HUB for LAN sharing.I have tried port forwarding also but of no use.
The ip details provided for local LAN sharing is, LAN IP - 192.168.100.3 - 192.168.100.xxx Subnet mask - 255.255.255.000 Default gateway - 192.168.100.1
This is the configuration on the LAN port of my wifi router. Where as when i connect the LAN cable on the internet port of router, it takes the ip automatically from server (DHCP) which is not the same as ip detail provided for LAN sharing hence unable to connect to local HUB. If i try to configure the internet port of the router with above configuration i am unable to connect to local HUB as well as internet.I want to connect to local HUB while connected to internet using a wifi router.I don't find any problem while connected directly. I have configured my computer's LAN card manually with the above configuration provided for LAN sharing & able to connect to internet as well through dial up connection.(connected directly without using a router).i am unable to figure out the difference between the two (direct connection & while using a router.
I have walked into a company that has several small (1-4 PC's each) remote locations, and they all connect to Terminal Server to use our POS app. This app will not keep redirected printers saved between each session, so in order to save the printers, they have software VPN's set up on each client, then the local printers are installed on the server through a Local Port using the VPN ipaddressprinter share name. This allows the printers to be saved in the program and not re-assigned each session. Now, let's say that I have implemented a new desktop replacement procedure, and we are now in phase one of said procedure. I have purchased Windows 7 64-bit desktops. After setting up my deployment standards and testing in-house, I placed one of these PC's in the field. This is where I learned the issues of printing from a 32-bit server to a 64-bit client. I have not been able to successfully print to the printer installed on the server using the Local Port of the client, print job errors out. I have done some research, and found the issues with printing from 32-bit to 64-bit, and have installed all the additional drivers I can find, with no success.
