i have 2 ftp servers running on windows server 2008 r2 with IIS 7.0 FTP 1 on port 21 works seamlessly, however my second FTP i have port 2121 will when "accessed" via [URL] from inside the router everything will work fine, once attempted to use the ISP address outside or even inside the router everything goes sour. i do recieve a login prompt but the page times out after credentials are supplied, i have configured the firewall to allow 2121 inbound and 2120 outboud, for shits n giggles i allowed 2120 inbound, that didnt work so i deleted that entry after the fact. Ports are forwarded, and to my best knowelege the firewall is configured correctly.
Our companies dc cant connect to the internet and can only access the local networkI configured everything correctly eg ip adress dns and default gateway
My pc in the LAN can ping the local server but cannot connect ( cannot browse) it.Others in the LAN can connect it. I can also connect Internet but , not the local server. (when I type \192.168.... on my computer browser , answer " window cannot access \192.168.........)
Server 2008 has two Nics one connected to outside switch and has internet, other Nic is connected to local siwtches which has 20 systems connected locally but does not have internet. Local systems were getting IP from server, but there was not internet on the lan systems, I restarted the server and local systems lost IP address. earlier everyting was fine.
I run several game servers here locally.... Counter Strike Source, Unreal Tournament 3, Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty 4 GunGame, Garry's Mod.
They all run in their own VM's. All VM's are accessable on wireless via any other protocol RDP and UT3 web admin. None of the games show up in the in game server browsers in the LAN. If you connect wired to the gig switch they show up.
If you go into the console of a game and connect directly to the IP of the machine you can enter the game. There is no problem connecting with the server only that it doesnt show up in the browser on wireless
Obviously my wireless router is funky. WRT160N with DDWRT. Currently setup as an AP.
I have a FTP server at my local network and i have natted the private IP with my Public IP using default FTP Port ( 21) , now i have created Diffrent FTP Account in my server using port 2121 and i am able to login using the private IP with port 2121 , now i want to nat with my public IP with port 2121 and i failed,
1) 125.x.x.x --------- 10.10.1.x : 21 ( Able to access from external network)
2) 125.x.x.x ---------- 10.10.1.x : 2121 ( not able to login from external network and able to login internally )
time.windows.com keeps showing error code? Error Code says:( An error occurred getting the status of the last synchronization.) I have even but the info. in manually and the same code appears.
I've been trying to map a specific domain name (say a.net) to a local (static) IP of a computer on that specific network, running Apache and used as a server.I did this by setting the Static DNS mapping configuration on my Dynalink RTA-1025W management panel.That works flewlessly on my iPhone and iPad, but does not work at all on any computer - desktop or laptop, Mac or PC, WiFi or LAN (tried a few desktop PCs, an iMac, a PC notebook and a MacBook Pro). On all of them, the browser is uncapable of resolving the DNS mapping, showing an error such us "Server Not Found".The only way I could override that behavior is modifying the hosts file, and that is not a solution for me, as the network is used by guest machines (say, as a public WiFi in an hotel).Is there a better approach for that?
i have port forward minecraft on a netgear WGR14v9 on the router manager but when i run the mincraft server it says i havent and online port checkers aswell
I recently upgraded the firmware to 2.0.2.01-tm (from 2.0.0.19-tm). Now I noticed the RV082's local DNS server ("DNS Local Database" feature) does not work any more. Any URL-IPaddr combo I used to put in there was resolved prior to sending a request to the WAN's primary/secondary DNS server. It isn't a PC problem. I tested on different real and virtual machines, windows and Linux. Is there new "enable" switch somwhere?

i have some problems to configure the port forwarding in my router, don't it work ! but the port number 80 it works with my sub-domain in the internet. after i change this port to 8080 still dont work the port forwarding. the FTP server its ok.
I have a 2911 router inside our network with both DHCP and DNS enabled. Everything works fine except since we use this router we are not being able to go to the network neighbourhood in Windows and look up machines by name (or typing \diskstation for example). Connecting by IP works fine but not by local machine names.
We are planning to split the Private servers from the DMZ Servers and configure an additional Interface and segment for this purpose.
Private Servers Segment: 192.168.4.0/24 (there is no DHCP all servers' IPs are statically configured) DMZ Segment: 192.168.3.0/24 (This is a future deployment) LAN Segment: 172.17.0.0/16
Both, Private Servers and DMZ Servers are in a collocation as well as the ASA5520. There are multiple Branch offices that uses subnets within the 172.17.0.0/16 Network and they are connected to the ASA5520 via Metro-E.
I do not know if this is possible but what I want to do is this:
In order to avoid the change of internal DNS records I want to mask the DMZ servers with a Private Server IP when a Private server or LAN host wants to access it like this:
The FTP server in the DMZ has the IP address: 192.168.3.100. But when a PC from the LAN wants to reach the FTP server it should points to its old IP: 192.168.4.100. This way the PC sends a packet to the ftp.corporate.net (192.168.4.100) the ASA recieves the packet and translate it to the (192.168.3.100) and send it out through the DMZ Interface.
Also if the Private Servers wants to reach the same FTP the ASA will act like a proxy-ARP and send the paquet to the DMZ by means of the translation of the IP.

I Have exented vlan 120,121 from DC-1 to DC-2,the DC-1 and DC-2 are connected using L2 Trunk over fiber terminated on Cisco 6513 on both site ,the distance around 40 Km ,on the DC-2 i just assigned server-1 TO VLAN 120 while server-2 in vlan 121 ,but these servers unable to communicate neither with DC-1 Servers or betwen them locally on DC-2 ,pls note that the servers at dc-2 rely on DC-1 for routing.
i'm trying to setup a local DNS server to manage small office local-only domain names for our servers. i have the DNS working properly (resolving local machines and using the ISP dns if it can't). so i put the DNS server ip into the "Static DNS 1" field of the router settings. the other 2 static dns fields are empty.the problem is that the router is still using the ISP dns server as the primary and my local dns server as the secondary. i verify this in two places. first, if i go to the "status" tab, DNS 1 shows the ISP server while DNS 2 shows my local DNS server. secondly, if i connect to the wireless device with a linux-based machine, the /etc/resolv.conf file shows the nameserver ips in the same incorrect order.
Is there any chance the Wireless Repeater mode work with WPA2-AES ?If not, which model of AP should I buy to connect it with my wap54g as Wireless Repeater?
I have a DIR-655 B1 router. The firmware is 2.00 NA. Just to clarify, the DSi itself does work with WPA, but the games only work with WEP. I made a guest account and set it to WEP and it still does not work. I have tried making the main connection WEP as well, but when I go on the game and try it, it says it is WPA and not WEP. My friend has a DIR-655 as well, but the hardware and firmware version are different. Her games work flawlessly.
I Have 15 computer and they all are in Internet Connection.And I Have Network of C class that is 192.168.5.11.But the main Problem is that the computer are not getting ping with each other.How can I get them Pinging between them.Can any antivirus stop them?
I'm having an issue with my work computer where it can connect to all of the servers in the company accross the country EXCEPT the servers located in New Jersey. I am running Windows XP SP3. I am able to ping the servers and get a response back, but my network drives are disconnected and I cannot open them. I have tried completely uninstalling the driver for my network adapter and reinstalling it with no affect. Mine is the only computer having this problem and I have uninstalled all software that was installed within the past month to be sure. It is ALL of the servers in New Jersey so I know it's a problem with my computer and not the serers. I had a similar issue a while ago where I could ping Google, but could not get to the website, and that ended up being the ZoneAlarm firewall that I had. That was fixed by uninstalling ZoneAlarm and doing an ipconfig /release & /renew. I re-registered some dlls but that didnt work either.
I currently have one home WWW server running on port 80 which is obviously the HTTP port. If I wanted to run another web server on the same connection, how would I do this? Is it possible? Obviously, I can't port forward the same port for more than one IP.
I'm having a problem connecting to multiple servers. I do know that I have stopped the windows firewall and taken out Norton and avg, yet I still can't connect to any servers. I've even tried on other networks! I can download torrents and surf the internet just fine though. I can't connect to an online class server to do my homework, and I've also tried to start playing WOW but neither will connect. I also don't see peer guardian 2 in *services*

I am having quality issues between our 2 sites only and have decided to setup QoS on the Cisco 1841 P2P routers. each side that does the voice traffic, I would like to do QoS by IP address, instead of by protocol.I will need an access-list, a class-map and a policy-map and need to point the interface to the policy-map
I have question about the basics of a high performance application and database server connection to each other. I have two servers, one application and one database server. Both of them are Windows 2008 R2 servers. I would like to connect them. What is the best configuration for quicker communication between them. Is it better to connect them through a network switch? Or directly connect them? Do I need to dedicate one of the ethernet ports on each server to separate their traffic to each other, from the internet connection traffic?
