View 2 RepliesWe are planning to split the Private servers from the DMZ Servers and configure an additional Interface and segment for this purpose.
Private Servers Segment: 192.168.4.0/24 (there is no DHCP all servers' IPs are statically configured)
DMZ Segment: 192.168.3.0/24 (This is a future deployment)
LAN Segment: 172.17.0.0/16
Both, Private Servers and DMZ Servers are in a collocation as well as the ASA5520. There are multiple Branch offices that uses subnets within the 172.17.0.0/16 Network and they are connected to the ASA5520 via Metro-E.
I do not know if this is possible but what I want to do is this:
In order to avoid the change of internal DNS records I want to mask the DMZ servers with a Private Server IP when a Private server or LAN host wants to access it like this:
The FTP server in the DMZ has the IP address: 192.168.3.100. But when a PC from the LAN wants to reach the FTP server it should points to its old IP: 192.168.4.100. This way the PC sends a packet to the ftp.corporate.net (192.168.4.100) the ASA recieves the packet and translate it to the (192.168.3.100) and send it out through the DMZ Interface.
Also if the Private Servers wants to reach the same FTP the ASA will act like a proxy-ARP and send the paquet to the DMZ by means of the translation of the IP.
i'm trying to connect 5 servers together to create a private network. Each server has a network of it's own and i'm trying to make all 5 servers communicate with each other to share and search data simultaneously..

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Verizon FIOS. I am using their Actiontec router. I turned on WPA2. All is working well. I wanted to turn it off to diagnose a problem with one device. I can see no way to turn it off. To turn it on you click WPA2. you put in an 8 digit "password" etc and it works. There seems to be no way to turn it off. Am I overlooking something? I tried deleting the password. but it gives you an error and remindes you the password needs to be 8 characters.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a WRT300N Linksys Router and I have not been very happy with it's performance. I know it's old now, but the final straw was when I started to need UPNP and the router keeps turning it off. I can only get it to work for an hour or so at a time by rebooting the router. Then after some time my device tells me UPNP is not working again. I saw some articles about this and tried several fixes, and I am beyond caring whether it works with UPNP anymore. I bought a NetGear N600 to replace it and so far it is working great. I had a linksys WRT54G years ago and it was a workhorse, never had any issues and it is still working today at a friend's house. I have had several Linksys routers since and have had nothing but bad luck. So I am giving Netgear a try.
Anyway... Now I have the Netgear router working I want to use the linksys to extend my wireless network. I ran a cable to the other side of my house where the wireless signal was not so good and plugged the cable into a LAN port on the WRT300N router. I then disabled the the firewall settings and DHCP, etc. I turned off UPNP (Not that I needed to, but I figured it would start working since I don't need it now and cause issues) I also turned off NAT. But I have an app that is telling me that I have 2 devices doing NAT on my network and the app doesn't like it.
how I can for SURE turn off NAT on the WRT300N router? I am getting ready to just go get another Netgear device and take the Linksys one out Office Space style.
I have a sling catcher but I need to access my rought on the 3rd floor how can I get it on a wirless network

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 64 Bit Pro PC connected directly to the router via Ethernet. This is I will call Ethernet Connection 1.I also have a Windows XP Pro SP3 computer connected to the same router but via a wireless connection.I have both PC's connected together via an Ethernet cable. This I will call Ethernet Connection 2.It all works fine, but I only want my PC's to communicate via Ethernet connection 2.Currently, if I disconnect the Ethernet cable between the computers I can still access the files on the Windows 7 computer via the wireless connection on the Windows XP computer.I've tried to see if this is discoverable by other people using the router by installing Ubuntu on the Windows XP machine and looking at the available networks. Lo and behold, my Windows 7 machine is discoverable and accessible - albeit by a password. This is with the Ethernet cable between the computers unplugged.I have both networks on the Windows 7 machine set to public and all sharing options switched to off. Both computers have the same workgroup name. Worryingly I can still connect to the Windows 7 machine via Ubuntu wirelessly without even using the same workgroup name! All I want to do is connect the two computers via Ethernet Connection 2. I don't want any sharing information going to the router too and hence other poeple being able to see it. Ethernet Connection 1 on the Windows 7 machine is for the internet only (same as for the wireless connection on the XP machine).
