View 1 Replies View RelatedFirmware 1.0.00 on my E4200 Hardware v1.0 provided a functioning 6to4 tunnel through Comcast's 6to4 facility. Windows and Linux clients on my local network discovered IPv6 addresses and were able to use them successfully.Unfortunately, after the upgrade to 1.0.03 this functionality was gone. I missed reading the ChangeLog, which said that the automatic tunneling feature was removed in 1.0.01. The now provided IPv6 functionality works much less well. First, automatic configuration (discovery of the 6to4 via IPv4 anycast) no longer works with Comcast's gateway. If I configure the tunnel manually, by specifying a 2002/16 prefix, I regain IPv6 connectivity, but only for Linux clients on my local network.
Windows 7 clients suffer from the problem that because the E4200 hands out ULA addresses, they end up preferring those ULA addresses when making global IPv6 connections in the IP 'source' field, which of course does not work. It's like putting your company mailbox code as the return address on a letter you send via US Mail. Other home routers, such as the AVM Fritz! (url,...) suffer from the same problem. However, they provide an option to turn off ULA at the router. Is it possible to turn off ULA for the E4200?
If the wifi can be turned off on the E1500. I got this unit from a family member and do not need the wifi part, as I have two computers, but are in the same room. I have the cisco connect on my computer and do not see a disable wifi in the program anywhere.

I have a WRT54G router, and when I am in the security area, where you choose WPA, WEP, etc... I keep clicking the dropdown menu, and when I choose anything BUT disable, the security auto-sets back to disable. I have rebooted the router. I have rebooted the modem. I have changed my router's password. How do I turn my WEP back on without it just saying. Also, for additional notation, my US light on my modem is no longer green, it is orange since this issue has occured. Is there any connection that might be related to this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedLast evening when I turned on lights a circuit breaker was triggered. I turned it back on and it didn't trigger again. I went to sleep but when I woke up this morning and turned on my pc I noticed that I couldn't get online. I checked my router and it was dead - no lights at all. I've tried unplugging it, letting it stay unplugged, hitting reset etc... but to no avail.Lighting and the electric outlets are behind separate circuit breakers, but the only explanation I can think of is that the triggering of the cb and my 825 dying are linked. Am l looking at a dead router or is it more likely that the power adapter got fried? I don't have a fluke at my place right now due to early packing in preparation to moving away in a couple of months time so I cannot test the output voltage of the adapter right now. . Where can I get a replacement power adapter if that happens to be the culprit?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEA3500, I'm using the Smart Wi-Fi interface through a browser. How do I make my router broadcast the SSID? I think it was when I was setting up using the old interface, before updating the firmware, that I set it to *not* broadcast the network name. Now I feel like I've been all through the menus twice on the Smart Wi-Fi interface, and can't find the on/off toggle.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently switched my router from an older Linksys WRT 54GS to an E3000. The WRT 54GS was working perfectly fine, but I needed to upgrade to a 802.11n router to use with some of my devices at home. I unplugged all the cables from the WRT54GS, and connected all the cables into the E3000 - in the exact same sockets and order they were on the old router. When powering on, all the lights eventually turned on (Power, Internet and Ports 1 to 4), except the wifi is still off. I tried running the installation CD, but it says it cannot find the network. I tried a reset (back button) as well as 30-30-30 reset, but no matter what I do, the wifi indicator still doesn't turn on. When switching back to the old router, it has no problem broadcasting a wifi signal again. Is there anything else I should try, either on my PC settings or the E3000 router itself?

I have an issue with my router that disconnects from the internet in variuos situation when my laptop (an hp pavillion dv6) try to connect. It happen everytime when the laptop go in standby. When i turn it on from standby, the router disconnects from the net and the only way to have access to internet again is turn off and then on the router. It happens also when i turn on the laptop if there is yet some other device connected, like my desktop or my iphone or whatever.
Sometimes i have the same problem with my brand new tablet (a sony s) in a slightly different way. I navigate then, after a random amount of time, the router disconnects in the same way and the only way to have back connection is turn off and then on the router.
I've been having trouble with my wrt54gs2 and 4 360's. I tried a link someone posted for me to a cisco tutorial, it worked, but only for one 360. I have a Netgear wndr3400, I HATE the wireless on that router. Its unreliable but I like the features, the guest network and transfer meter, plus its worked with 4 360's out of the box. So would it be possible to turn off my wifi on the Netgear and plug the wrt54gs2 in and use its wireless?
