View 2 RepliesIm trying to port forward a minecraft server. To do this i have to goto to the default Gateway which is 192.168.1.1. i come to an authentication screen that says:The server 192.168.1.1:80 requires a username and password. The server says: NETGEAR WNR2000v2.
NETGEAR WNR2000v2 is the name of my wireless router.Everywhere i go it says the username and password is:

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought this to replace a working Linksys but wanted gigabit so after reading a lot of reviews this is the one I picked up. So tell me what is the magic toggle to get port forwarding to work or virtual servers? I've configured them on Linksys, netgear, Cisco, etc 100 times with no problems. Nothing I configure on this confounded thing works. I've setup 6 port forwards, RDP, FTP, VNC and none of them work. Nothing. "Connection timed out" when trying to connect. This works on my other router just fine so its not my software, or my PC configuration as they have no changed. Ports are correct.

Have just uppgraded firmware to v1.0.01, but no difference.
Minecraft 1.3 LAN server function fails because host IP bad. The host (a laptop) connects to the LAN with a proper 10.0.1.X type address, but this particular laptop uses a 169.* address when it establishes/reports the game (instead of it's 10.0.1.X) and no other computer can connect to it. Other computers DO establish/report the 10.0.1.X address they receive from the wireless router, and they can host just fine- but I really need to get the one laptop to serve as host since it has more horsepower.

However for some reason (even after port forwarding the right one) people still can't connect. When I check on Open Port Check Tool - Test Port Forwarding on Your Router It still says that the port 25565 is closed!I've even created an Inbound and Outbound rule in the Windows Firewall advanced settings. I use Avira Anti-vir fyi..

I'm having this really weird issue with my DIR-655 revB. I have some port forwarding rules set up and externally they work fine. However, if I try connecting to my IP address using those same ports from a computer within my LAN, it won't connect.
Externally, I can ping my WAN address and connect through forwarded ports. No problems. Internally, pinging my WAN address apparently works (just now is the first time that's worked for me), however I can't access any of my computers using the WAN IP and port forwarded ports. I can access them by going directly to their hostnames or LAN IPs.
Things I've tried:
-Disabling/enabling firewalls on all computers involved
-Disabling/enabling QoS engine
-Disabling/enabling DNS relay
-Disabling/enabling Advanced DNS
-Adding custom nameservers from Google and Comodo
-Restarting computers
-Clearing DNS cache (I use a dynamic DNS name which works externally but not internally. This gets the correct IP internally and connecting directly to the IP doesn't work either.)
-Modifying the NAT Endpoint Filtering settings
I have an external DSL modem connected to the router using PPPoE if it matters.
The weird part is that it works externally but I've modified all of the values I can think of in the config with no luck. I upgraded to the DIR-655 from a DIR-615 which had all these settings in it and worked fine (until it started acting up which is why I replaced it).
I have been trying so hard to get the following ports to work:
5120 - 5300
I have looked up countless guides, and have done everything in them, I have a static IP, I used the gateway to create the port forwarding rule, AND opened the ports on the windows firewall.
Nothing works. The port remains closed, and I can't host games. My modem is an Ambit U10C037
System Specs:
OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 3, 32 bit
Processor: Intel Pentium III Xeon processor, x86 Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 6

First off, my router is a D-Link DIR-655, firmware v2.07. I'm trying to port forward port 25565.
My port forward settings are this:
However, when I use this open port checker, it claims that I don't have that port open. It looks like this, without the blurred out parts:
Added note: The way I want to use it is by my IP (xxx.xxx.xxx.154:25565). I have the software installed to do so (I'm using a minecraft server, connecting through minecraft), but I can't enter my IP in the IP address field, it says that it's out of the range of the LAN.
I have a Netgear WRG614 and a Westell 610015 Modem. I need Port Forwarding. I have tried setting up a static IP then Port Forwarding but it doesn't work. I have tried port forwarding from the modem but it doesn't work. I wanna forward ports "80, 9958, and 5816". The reason is because I am gonna host a game server on my computer.

I am using a MR3420 V2 together with a E398 modem. The connection works well, but I can't do any port forwarding (virtual server). Using another router (Tiny Dovado) with the same E398 modem works flawlessly to forward ports.
I've been trying to port forward for my minecraft server I'm setting up forever now and it still won't work. I used the minecraft tutorial to make my IP Addresses Static and I've made it so the port is forwarded on my router. I'm using Craftbukkit and hosting the server from my computer, which is not the one connected straight into the modem (If that matters).

Problem 1 I have VNC running in port 5900 tcp and I want to connect from Internet using port 6001 and this has to forware the connection to the real VNC port. In the configuration I have a few host with the same configuration but I use different outside port to get it.

Facts: SMTP. Every time that I do telnet to the second IP looking for the SMTP port, the firewall doesn't let the incoming connection goes through and the LOGGING screen doesn't how that connection.PORT 6001 (outside)this port is configured to work with the IP in the outside internface and it was to send the incoming connection to a host inside to the real port 5900.Can any one check my configuration if I'm missing anything? for sure I'm but I didn't find it. I have only recently noticed a HUGE decrease in my Utorrent speeds, so i thought i would have a gander and lo and behold.apparently the port Utorrent uses wasn't open. Now, i have tried about 10 different port numbers, made sure Utorrent is being accepted by Norton 360 Firewall, followed complicated directions to (i think) foward ports, and also follow directions to open a specific port.Nothing has worked so far, Utorrent still comes back with a port closed error.
