Minecraft 1.3 LAN server function fails because host IP bad. The host (a laptop) connects to the LAN with a proper 10.0.1.X type address, but this particular laptop uses a 169.* address when it establishes/reports the game (instead of it's 10.0.1.X) and no other computer can connect to it. Other computers DO establish/report the 10.0.1.X address they receive from the wireless router, and they can host just fine- but I really need to get the one laptop to serve as host since it has more horsepower.

I have this Minecraft Server hosted at TCP 25565.I don't use any router and is connected to an RG-Box directly.My Firewall is disabled and so is Avast!But still nobody can connect from anywhere. I gave them my external IP and nothing worked out.I did a "netstat -a" search, and yes, I do have a connection listening at this port TCP.Still, I get this "Connection timed out: Connect" error when trying to reach my server from anywhere out side of my network.I called my ISP regarding this problem, and they told me that they were only blocking port 24 and 25, all other ports is free to use. And they told me that I don't need to Port-Forward or anything, I just plug my computer directly into the RG-BOX, and I should be good to go. But I'm not.

We are using an ASA with 8.4 in transparent mode. Connection fails when a host on inside tries to connect to a server on outside. This server uses mac-address 0100.5E00.0000 to load balance but replies with real mac-address.Firewall logs "Deny TCP".ARP inspection is disabled.

Im trying to port forward a minecraft server. To do this i have to goto to the default Gateway which is 192.168.1.1. i come to an authentication screen that says:The server 192.168.1.1:80 requires a username and password.The server says: NETGEAR WNR2000v2.
NETGEAR WNR2000v2 is the name of my wireless router.Everywhere i go it says the username and password is:
admin, admin
admin, password
admin, 1234
admin, (none)
password, password
password, 1234
password, admin
password, (none)
None of these work i even tried typing the name name and password of my router. No luck?

Trying to set up a minecraft server, I have a dlink DIR-601 router.I followed instructions on the portforward site, and use a portchecker and my ports are correct in practice, but they wont ever show as open.Below is what I have done, virtual server is empty and nothing checked. I've been trying to port forward for my minecraft server I'm setting up forever now and it still won't work. I used the minecraft tutorial to make my IP Addresses Static and I've made it so the port is forwarded on my router. I'm using Craftbukkit and hosting the server from my computer, which is not the one connected straight into the modem (If that matters).

I have a desktop that I have my Minecrarft Server on. It was working fine until I forwarded port 25565 to it, and now I cant use firefox or internet explorer. I can access the server from my other computer on the same network, but none of my friends can from their houses.

I recently signed up with AT&T U-Verse. They required that I buy a 2Wire 3600 HGV router. I looked up how to forward ports -- and even called an AT&T representative -- and I am sure that I forwarded them correctly. I'm trying to host a Minecraft Server. I forwarded port 25565 in TCP and in UDP. After that wouldn't work, the AT&T representative said that the traffic was being blocked from my side. I then checked my Windows Firewall and allowed all proper applications -- Minecraft and Minecraft Server. When that wouldn't work, I went in an manually added exceptions to Windows Firewall for TCP - 25565 and UDP - 25565 Inbound and the same for Outbound. Nothing.I have tried to check the ports in DMZ mode with Windows Firewall disabled -- they are still timing out. What should I do?

When can we have an upgrade to include 'Lookback' function for Virtual Server ? I understand both Build-120802 and Build-120926 does not support this Loopback feature. Without the loopback feature, we won't be able to test out Dynamic DNS URL is working or otherwise on local PC.

i can't get it working to expose on internal server to an outside interface.I used the public server function in ASDM.Internet access works if i nat my private adress to one of the available ipadresses provided by our isp.

New E4200v2 @ firmware 2.0.36. The FTP server will go offline about once every 24 hours. I can revive it by simply clicking on Save in Storage/Administration or FTP Server. I don't have to change anything, just click Save. How can I keep the FTP running?
"Disk" is a 16gb USB flash memory. Formated FAT32, 1 partition, 6 users besides Admin and Guest, 2 groups besides Admin and Guest.

we are running LMS 4.0 on Windows Server 2008, and just changed the hostname of the server, as the former on reflected it being a test system. However, after rebooting the server (as required by windows), the LMS application did not launch.After rolling the windows server back to the old hostname, the LMS started working again.Why is this? Isnt it possible to change the server hostname after the LMS has been set up for the first time?

I am working through the migration from ACS 4.1.4 on Windows Server 2003 to ACS 5.2 on the appliance. I have created the 4.1.4 migration server, installed the software and imported the data from our production ACS 4.1.4 box. I downloaded the migration utility from the 5.2 ACS server and am attempting to run on the 4.1.4 migration server. The question that fails is:
Enter ACS 4.x Server ID:
I do not know what this means and do not see anything on the 4.1.4 server that identifies the Server ID. I try localhost and it does not work and the 4.1.4 server is not registered in DNS or I would try that (and . are not valid characters in the ID so the IP does not work).
How have other people handled this question? Is there something that can identify the local server ID?

recently I had some malware on my Windows XP Professional (version 2002), so I followed a guide at Bleeping Computer [URL] to get rid of it. Problem is, for some reason, after I finished, I could no longer access the internet!When I try, FIrefox gives me their "could not connect" message: "Server not found. Check the address for typing errors such as ww.example.com instead of [URL]"When I try to log into MSN, the troubleshoot says I have a problem with my DNS and Key Ports.I'm not good with computers so I Google'd and found some ping-ing instructions. When I tried to ping [site], I get: "Ping request could not find host [site]. check the name and try again." So I have a proxy server in my home that all the computers use to access the internet (XP Pro). I edited the host file on the proxy to redirect traffic for various reasons (ad blocking, etc.) But I have noticed that it doesn't seem to affect the computers that use the proxy. For example one entry in the host file could be 127.0.0.1 abc123.com so that abc123.com would loopback to the localhost. For some reason this isn't working. Is there anyway to get this to work without changing the host file on each individual computer?

I am having some trouble understanding extended control lists. I am trying to prevent a certain host on LAN1 from accessing a server on LAN2, while still allowing the host access to the rest of LAN2.This is what I thought the command should be:
access-list 100 deny ip 175.16.1.2 0.0.0.0 175.17.2.2 0.0.0.0
My understanding was that:
Green = source & mask
Red = destination & mask
However this seems to stop all my other hosts on LAN1 from pinging the server also.

I have an 1811 configured with dhcp scope and generally it works correctly. I have a host on the vlan/subnet that the scope is assigned that can receive an IP and all the specifics from the dhcp server. [code]
The host on the vlan/subnet should use the router as the dns server to resolve static hosts that are configured on the router itself. Can an IOS DHCP/DNS server do this?

Recently had an external security scan done on my DIR 655 and scan results are stating I have an accessible TFTP Server running. i've been through all the settings, and even upgraded to the latest firmware. Yet security scans are telling me I've got a TFTP Server running. Why would one be showing on the external interface, and how can I stop it?

I've done a lot of ACE work over the years but this is the first time this has ever come up.
I have a request from an application group where I have 3 rserver in the server farm but they want all traffic to only go to the first server unless that server fails. If the first server fails, only then do they want traffic to go to the 2nd server instead and if that fails, then traffic goes to the 3rd.
I've read through the documentation but haven't figured out a way to do this. What to do this type of failover configuration?

After we have installed patch 5 on several ACS 5.2 server they aren't able anymore to write their backups to the sftp servers. I tried to search on the bug tool kit, but it seems to be broken when searching for the keyword "sftp". I have a 5520 in production at a customer's site between an outside 802.11 network and an inside server. The server can get to outside hosts OK, and the traffic is being NATed properly, and sockets initiated by the server on the inside can pass data both ways, but I need to allow outside hosts the ability to send 'announcement' UDP packets to the inside server. I thought this might be an outside-NAT-required issue to get the traffic routed, but I need the inside server to see the actual outside host source IP in the UDP packet, so I basically set the outside host up similar to the inside host, just without the NAT table on the firewall -- it's subnet is outside the destination (inside server) subnet, and its gateway is the outside interface of the ASA, the same way the inside server is able to get to hosts outside. The firewall should just route the packet with a destination of the inside subnet once it sees that it hits a 'permit' ACL.
I have the appropriate ACL's set up, and when I do 'show access-list' I see policy hits for the 'permit' statements where the outside host is generating the announcement and it's hitting the ACL. I even duplicated the ACL into list 101 and 102, and applied 101 for inbound traffic on the outside int, and applied 102 for outbound traffic on the inside int, and I'm seeing policy hits on both permit statements outside and inside, so it looks like the traffic is being passed on to the inside interface and permitted, but the server isn't seeing the packets.
I can ping the outside interface from the outside, but cannot ping the inside interface or any inside hosts from the outside, even though I have 'permit icmp any any' enabled on the ACL on both ints. When I remove the firewall and put the outside clients on the same subnet, the server sees the packets just fine.
I set up the same scenario in my lab with an ASA 5505, with the same results. Below is the running config from the 5505 in the lab. The production firewall is running a slightly older version of ASA, so I made the configuration as basic as possible on the 5505 to match the config in the field:

I ran into a very interesting problem that occurred today and I'm trying to figure out why it happened. If it was one ASA 5505 that just required the reboot, then I'd have just chalked it up to a glitch, but when we built a new AD/ DNS server on the main network at the main site and changed the 3 Remote site ASAs to point to the new DNS server in the DHCPD options, none of them could ping any local host names to the DNS server at the main site they were now pointing too, but external host names { URL} all translated and pinged fine.
From a laptop on one of the remote sites, we could ping the new AD/DNS server(192.168.0.3) and the old AD/DNS server(192.168.0.2) and everything else at the main site, and telnet to port 53 showed successful across the Easy VPN from the Remote site to the new server at the main site. When wire shark was added to the new DNS server at the main site, the DNS request and replies for {URL}, for example, came and worked fine, but any requests for local resources never made it to the server from the remote sites.
A reboot of one of the Remote Site ASA's corrected the issue. Then I rebooted the other two remote site ASAs, and now DNS was working fine for everybody. I had also tried clearing the ARP cache on the ASAs before resorting to rebooting them. I also tried rebooting the laptop thinking the local DNS cache needed cleared before resorting to rebooting the ASAs. I'm struggling to understand why external, public host names made it through and resolved from the remote sites to the new server at the main site, but anything local failed before even reaching the new server(The new DNS server could resolve requests made by computers at the main site, but the remote sites that traverse the Easy VPN from the ASAs failed). The new AD/DNS server is the only server configured for DNS for all remote site computers.
Is any of this making sense? I'm wondering if clearing the x late or local host tables would have corrected it without having to reboot. I'm just trying to grasp the understanding here and figure out what happened.
