I am having a really hard time with a computer that has a wireless connection. Specifically the internet keeps going out. The computer info is that of the affected computer and not the host computer to which the router and modem are connected.

The network works with everything else (laptops, Xbox and iPods) but my pc wont receive anything. Also our home connection has no password as we live in the middle of nowhere.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire one that connected perfectly to the internet until I did a reformat. Now it only works if through a wired connection or if the internet does not have a password protection. I have tried on 2 different locations with secure wireless and both have the same result. Packets are sent but not received. All other devices in either location are able to connect to internet through wired or wireless connections.IP address is at 192.xxx and DHCP is enabled, TCP/IP is set to obtain automatically and I deleted and downloaded the newest drivers from the Acer website twice. I also did a winsock reset and tried to clear the arp cache? One of the issues I am getting when I run the diagnostic is "warn default gateway address could not be resolved via arp". I'm not sure how to resolve that.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI reformat my old PC and installed Win XP SP3. There were no errors during installation and everything works ok. However, I'm not able to connect to the internet with my ethernet cable. The LAN connection shows 'Connected' but properties shows some packets sent but zero received. There are no antivirus program installed, windows firewall is turned off as well.
I've tried the following:
- Tried the same ethernet cable connection to another PC and I was able to get on the internet (so no ISP or router issues I assumed).
- Fix the stack using Winsock - didn't work.
- Device Manager now shows Network Adapter > Atheros L2 Fast Ethernet 10/100 Base-T Controller #2 (no yellow question mark). Although I had to reinstall the driver after XP installation.
- Here's the result of ipconfig/all:

I have an HP Workstation that I have been working at constantly to get up and running on the network, it had "OpenCloudSecurity" adaware on it I believe and I was able to get that off with a couple of my freeware tools. The problem I am having is simply it will not connect to the network and only shows. 0Sent 0 Recieved and doesn't pull and IP configuration. I skimmed around and found that sometimes adaware/spyware can play with the TCPIP Stack and that your best bet is to reset the TCPIP stack and WINSOCK ; I did TCPIP Reset and Winsock multiple times with multiple reboots . I know it isn't the ethernet card because I popped in a live Ubuntu CD and it connected just fine on the wired ethernet.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys wireless router model WRT54G (not sure the exact model, it's not in front of me right now). It has worked flawlessly for the past several years, but for some reason has recently stopped working. I confirmed it's not a problem with the DSL Modem, as I can hard wire connect to my laptop and the internet works fine. It's clear something is wrong with the wireless router. I've tried unplugging, hitting the reset button on the back, and nothing has worked. My computer is able to recognize/locate the router and connect, it's just that I can't connect to the internet. One thing I've noticed under the wireless connection is that the computer is able to "send" packets, but not "receive." My experience is that this is always the case when I experience connection problems, but I have no idea what that means. I was going to call the Help Line, but I see it costs $30 which is likely more than my router is worth and probably 1/2 to 1/3 the cost of a new one so I am trying to troubleshoot myself.

I'm sure there are no downloads taking place that I'm aware of. No torrent clients, no antivirus nothing. I checked my PC for malware but that didn't work. As a result of this, i keep getting high pings in online games and can't even watch videos in youtube anymore. like, some software to monitor all the programs that use the itnernet connection without my knowledge or something??My primary concern is gaming (Call of Duty 4) so I wouldn't mind this idle downloading (whatever it is) as long as the major chunk of my internet connection is directed towards Cod4!

I'm pretty much sure there's no downloading of any sort in progress that I'm aware of. As a result of this, I can't watch videos in Youtube or play online games due to high ping.

Today i saw on the router dir-655 log file that "UDHCPD Received a SIGTERM" and "received signal 15, good-bye" and the ip address was renewd after 14 days. I want to understand if it's normal behavior of the unit or not. I'm connected to cable modem that is stable more than 15 days.

Recently bring up a new Router connected to ISP A and the Netflow collector/server is located in different location and they are connected to ISP B. I have enabled snmp and netflow config on my router(2911) but not receiving the netflow packets are not reaching the server for due to some strange reason whereas other packets like ICMP for snmp are reaching the netflow collector.Finally,I created GRE tunnel between the two locations routers and set the route for the netflow collector/server to the tunnel other end IP. In this way the netflow traffic are reaching successfully to the server.

I noticed that they were mostly entries reading "DIR-601 local0.debug udhcpd[18594]: UDHCPD Received a SIGUSR1". The "Debug Information" option isn't checked.

I already looked around and know theres no way to check or adjust transmit power and saw its -15 to -8dbm on the datasheet.

my Dell laptop was working fine when suddenly I received the blue error screen. I ran repair and the computer started working, and only without Internet. Network troubleshooter finds problems with both cable and wifi adapter, and everything is fine on device manager, and but nothing shows up on ipconfog/all command. I am using a tplink router and it's working fine as as I'm currently typing this on my mobile.

Following are its interfaces & details:mgmt 10.49.5.251 on wlc1 & .252 on wlc2 access p 10.49.6.251 on wlc1 & .252 on wlc2 there is no AP manager interface seen on both wlc's nor configured. both wlc1 & wlc2 are connected each to two switch ports, configured as normal trunk link each.LAG is enabled on both WLC's.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThere are two Polycom devices behind ASA (Terminal HDX7000 and MCU RMX1000), ASA is connected to Cisco 1900 router which is connected to ISP.
Polycom devices are NATed (unique global address per device) on router and h323 inspection is done on ASA. The issue is that when trying to connect from outside to conference on MCU I don't receive any video (but MCU shows me like a connected participant). The same is true when MCU try to call outside terminals, they are shown as connected participants, but there is just a black screen. On ASA all ports are opened (both in and out) and there are no ACLs on router. And what means NAT configuration on Polycom devices, why it is needed when NATing is done on router (such configuration option I've seen also on Tandberg and another vendor's devices)?
One of our Cisco 3750G switches keeps showing this warning:
Description: Gi4/0/43: Unexpected BPDU received. Port has been Disabled.
Recommendation: Check Configuration of the switch, also make sure devices connected to the switch. Enable this port again.
However, there is no thing connecting to the port Gi4/0/43 as shown this link: [URL]. Why do you get this warning?
I am installing a small wireless network (for the firs time). The WLAN is connected to a router/firewall and consists of a Cisco 2960-C Series 8-Port Compact Ethernet Switch, a Cisco Aironet 2500 Series Wireless LAN Controller for Lightweight Access Points and a Cisco Aironet 1140 Series g/n Lightweight Access Points (five AP if I get it to work).
My problem is that when a client connects to the access point it does not get an IP-address.
In the WLC DHCP proxy is enabled and Internal DHCP server is used.
The scope is from 192.168.104.65 - 192.168.104.99
The WLC IP is 192.168.104.60
The DHCP server is given as 192.168.104.60
When starting the system I can see the the AP have the IP 192.168.104.66 so it seems the DHCP gives out IP-addresses. I can ping the AP.
When a client connects to the APit is asked for the security key and the client can be seen in the WLC monitor section. The client never gets an IP-address; in the WLC monitor 0.0.0.0 is shown.

When i issued sho arp command i have received more than 30 entries of MAC and IP address . I am wondering how i received this much mac in arp table.
I am trying to bridge internet connection received from my laptop to my desktop with an ethernet cable. Both machines are running win 7.When I try to connect to my local area connection on the desktop most of the time it fails and I'm left with 'Unidentified network' and no internet connection. About once a minute the router sends an unsolicited DNS message to the IPV4 multicast address 01:00:5e:00:00:fb with a destination IP address of 224.0.0.251. The unsolicited message is a DNS response with source port 32784, transaction ID 0, flags 0x8400 (standard query response, no error), questions 0, answer RRs 2, authority RRs 0 and additional RRs 1. The two answers both relate to the router itself: one has Name Cisco18738.local, type A (host address), class 1 (IN), cache flush true, time to live 1 minute, data length 4, and the address of the router. The other is the reverse of the same address. The additional record is for Cisco18738.local, type NSEC, class IN, cache flush true, time to live 1 minute, data length 5, next domain name Cisco18738.local, RR type A (host address).
When my desktop computer receives these messages it logs an error, for example: "Jun 23 07:39:22 sauterws02 avahi-daemon[1067]: Received response from host 10.146.9.1 with invalid source port 32784 on interface 'eth0.0'" The 10.146.9.1 is the router's IP address. I also see these messages on the wireless link from my laptop.I suppose the E4200 is generating these DNS messages in a misguided attempt to make sure there is no old information about its name. Is there a way to turn them off? If not, is there a way to report this to Cisco as a bug?
