View 1 Replies View RelatedThe PPPoE connection can be successfully established only if the PC dials up, but not if the router replaces the PC to do so.Both the PC and the router are identically configured for this purpose, i.e. using the same ADSL dial-up account(usr/passwd pair). As a whole, we can exclude any wrong configuration on the router itself.

Now for the problem....Saturday my husband bought me a wireless Velocity Cruz 7" color Tablet. I has been told in the past that all I had to do was buy a wireless router and plug it into the phone line. But today I called both Radio Shack and Office Max and asked if you could hook up a wireless router to dialup and both places told me absolutely not because dialup was too slow.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've moved a Cisco 887 router from a site where it was used to dial up on an ADSL line to a new site where we have a EFM circuit which terminates at a Cisco 1841 router managed by our ISP. I therefore need to re-configure our 887 router to work as a conduit from our servers back to the Cisco 1841 as its gateway.
I have asked from our ISP and they told me that i need to configure the 887 to use IP address 176.35.140.65 255.255.255.248 and its gateway should be 176.35.140.70. That's great advice in theory but I don't know how to configure this correctly
Our internal network is using subnet 192.168.42.XX which will need to be retained for local devices.
what or where is the ethernet port

I have an assignment where I have to dial into both a Windows server and an Ubuntu server to conduct some tasks (the actual process of dialing into the servers is not part of the assignment). I've been given the username, password, IP address, and protocol for each server. However, I cannot figure out how to use these to "dial into" them.I am running Windows 7 on a wireless connection

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy HP home vista keeps on disconnecting.I use dial up. The IPS service provider said to plug the computer directly into the phone jack without using the splitter which is a plug that has two openings(1 for phone and 1 for the computer in the event that the splitter is bad) I tried this and as soon as a connection is made about a minute later I'm disconnected again. Any ideas as how to resolve this problem? Also I was told that if I have DSL that this wouldn't be a problem

1. when using the debug command it shows how it works digit-by-digit till it match a pattern
2. It says in the study guide ( If a match is found, the router immediately processes the call - chapter 6) so I understand its not en bloc

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had a Sony Viao with Windows Vista for some years and I managed to create a bridge using the Sony Viao laptop and my o2 usb modem. That was some time ago and now I have a new laptop with Windows 7 ?I have to mention that I do not have wireless connections. I have an o2 modem and an ethernet cable. They are the only two connections that show up in my internet connections. The LAN connection has an image of a ethernet cable connection while the o2 connection has an image of a phone.whenever I watch youtube walk throughs it never looks like my set up. Ive tried everything over and over. Turning off UAC, turning on sharing but nothing has worked yet. When I just select the LAN connection and right click there is an option to Bridge. When I right click the o2 connection its not there. When I select both the option isnt there either.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have another odd issue (I get those alot) I have an asterisk box that moves around between 2 IPs, thus the dial-peers are unpredictable as to their target IP. They work as the dial-peer will eventually (after 1 min) time out and go to the other dial peer, but waiting 1 min sucks, and it's a tiny network, 5-10 sec would be WAY more than enouph. Does anyone know off hand a way to get them to time out faster?
