ok the connection is a dial up it doesn't give any static ip address when i connect it now it will give me different ip , when i disconnect it again it will give me another ip. an the message appear at the server and the affect the client.....the client are using satic ip address.

Client side subnet is different to the VPN side. VPN users are setup correctly (Router logs the user as connected) . Port 443 is not setup in port forwarding.

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor some strange reason I'm getting the error "WAN IP should not be a network address" when I type in an IP address under the Static IP Settings section in the "IP Address" field. My client has a static IP from his ISP and I'm trying to set it up on the router. I've updated to the latest firmware 1.0.4.17 but still the same error.
I'm not copying and pasting the address, I'm typing it in. There is no extra spaces or anything. What is this glitch? I could save the router settings and reset it and try that but I'm doing this all remotely and would rather not have to make another trip to do this onsite.
What I'm trying to go for is to make a Static IP so that I can forward my ports in order to play certain games. I have had my ports forwarded at one time with a different ISP (in the same area), however they used cable and the company I'm with now uses DSL. The company "Hawaiian Telcom" has provided me with a Motorola 2210 modem/router. I have had trouble trying to create a static IP with this router so (sorry if this was a stupid move) I decided to buy a linksys router to try to port forward with that. When my ports were forwarded with the previous ISP I was using a linksys router then. The now aged linksys router was replaced due to it getting wet, but that's besides the point

We got 4 WAP that we will connect to the switch module that needs power. So the switch module with POE doesn't give any power out.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy ISP gave me a Thomson THG520 modem when I subscribed to their service. It has 2 links and USB and an Ethernet link. It worked fine with our 2 computers but for several weeks or so I experiencing that it only gives me IP address only on one interface that one that's first plugged into the computer.
If I reset the modem and plug in the USB I get an IP address immediately. If I unplug the USB and plug in the Ethernet cable I don't get an IP address. If I reset again the modem and plug in the Ethernet cable I get an IP address but not on the USB link after I unplug the modem.
EDIT: after entering the modem's administration I realized it's firmware was updated (probably my ISP did it.). Also I read about how this stuff works, there is an evidence that my ISP set the CPE limit to 1. (so it seem only one computer connected to the modem can get IP address while the other can't.). And this configuration is stored on the modem somewhere. Is there a way to view it somehow?
I have a WRV4400n in my company and almost every day I have to reboot so people can get out to the internet, It lets you see the local network also if I put a desktop on line it will not give a DHCP address, untill I reboot the router. then all is fine, It has the latest greates firmware.

By default, access points are configured to receive IP settings from a DHCP server on your network. You can also configure an access point to act as a DHCP server to assign IP settings to devices on both your wired and wireless LANs.
The 1100 series access point becomes a mini-DHCP server by default when it is configured with factory default settings and it cannot receive IP settings from a DHCP server. As a mini-DHCP server, the 1100 series access point provides up to 20 IP addresses between 10.0.0.11 and 10.0.0.30 to a PC connected to its Ethernet port and to wireless client devices configured to use no SSID, and with all security settings disabled. I've got threeLinux Boxes (running Centos 6). They were all connected to my cheap WRT54GL-- DHCP worked every time.Absolutely no problems. Both the LInux boxes and the WRT54GL had MTU set to manual, 1492.I replaced the WRTt54GL with the expensive E4200. I set the new router's MTU to manual, 1492. NONE of my Linux boxes ever receive a DHCP address. I look at the logs, and they do DHCPDISCOVER, get DHCPNACK, try several different intervals, and then fail the interface and quit.ALL I did was unhook cables from the WRT54GL and plug into the E4200. Yes, the WRT54GL was powered off. NOTHING was changed in the Linux configs. Yes, DHCP is enabled, address-range assigned, etc. BTW-- one box is dual boot with Win7-- in Win7 (using the same card, obviously), DHCP works just fine. But, Linux doesn't work.
I can give the boxes static IP's, and all is well. Just can't get DHCP to work. I evfen tried putting in DHCP reservations (via MAC assignments) for the E4200-- still doesn't work. The new E4200 is on the 02 firmware (which I believe is cuurent). If I can't iron this simple task out, in a couple of days I'm taking the E4200 back, and getting a refund. I'll stay with my old WRT54GL... it works. Hate to give up on some of the new E4200 features, though.

I am trying to give an static ip address to a time clock on my network and for some reason when I connect time clock to network it will always get an ip address from a different network. for example my computer IP address is 192.168.2.70 when connected to network, my default gateway is 192.168.2.1, the IP address that the time clock always gets is 192.168.1.120, there is no way to tell the time clock what IP address I wanted to be it has to get it from router (that is what the manufacturer told me), router (16portLiksys) does not have DHCP enabled the guy who set up network left it disabled, on his notes he says server (dell server T110) is acting as router is that true that a server can be acting as router?what do guys think is going on here?all the computers hooked up to network have static IP address.I also notice that when I connect a computer to router it will get an IP address from different network the same as time clock.I tried to reserve ip address on router by entering MAC address from time clock but it won't work. I am not very familiar with the server settings I have not try changing settings on server, I am not even sure the guy who set up network is right about using server as router.

As a result, pcAnywhere will no longer connect, and this is a critical function of the office. This has to get fixed. I've attempted to put the settings back to what they were (The IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, etc...) but now the Server will no longer connect to the internet when you setup the Static IP. It was, and the problem is that my router switched to a dynamic IP after comcast installed a security system to my house. If I try to reset the router, the system goes down and takes a helluva long time to get back up. Whenever I try to switch to a static IP, however, I lose internet connection. Wondering how to fix this. Or do I have to switch back to my laptop - which might also not even work. (I'll go try that, but I'm using my desktop because it has extra RAM.)

View 28 Replies View RelatedI am trying to configure ASA to assign same static ip address to certain user(User1) every time when he connect to network via AnyConnect client. We have Windows AD and use LDAP AAA server for authentication of VPN Remote Access users. I found in document "Cisco ASA 5500 Series Configuration Guide using the CLI, 8.2" in section "Configuring an External Server for Security Appliance User Authorization" explanation and configured ASA and User Properties in AD on exectly same way:First, I assigned static ip address in properties menu(dial in section) of User1 in Active Directory. Then I created ldap attribute map where I mapped msRADIUSFrameIPAddressattribute to IETF-Radius-Framed-IP-Address attribute. At the end I applied this ldap attribute map to AAA server group LDAP.
Although I set this up, whenever I connect using User1 credentials from AD I still get ip address from vpn pool instead static ip address that I configured. In output of debug ldap 255 command I found line "msRADIUSFramedIPAddress: value = -1062718956" but not any line that prove mapping above mentioned attributes.It seems like mapping is not working.All AnyConnect users get parameters from defined internal group policy on ASA,including addresses form pool,dns server etc. I want that User1 get static ip address and inherit all other parameters from group policy.
