I have an EA3500, I have 30 Mbps download when I connect my pc directly to the modem. When I add in the EA3500 router it drops to only 10 Mbps download on both wired and wireless devices.

I put the dsl modem in bridge mode so the E4200 will do the logon to AT&T with my credentials. If i do a speed check using CNET internet speed test, from both a desktop (wired 1gb card) and any laptop in the house (all draft n 2.4 or 5.0), it ranges anywhere from 3 meg to 4.3 meg. I have 6 cat-e ethernet cords everywhere. I do have 2 switches but have tried to unplug those to see if any difference

If I put laptop near the modem speed doesn't change.Only change occurs when I change the channel. Client side subnet is different to the VPN side. VPN users are setup correctly (Router logs the user as connected) . Port 443 is not setup in port forwarding.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy ISP gave me a Thomson THG520 modem when I subscribed to their service. It has 2 links and USB and an Ethernet link. It worked fine with our 2 computers but for several weeks or so I experiencing that it only gives me IP address only on one interface that one that's first plugged into the computer.
If I reset the modem and plug in the USB I get an IP address immediately. If I unplug the USB and plug in the Ethernet cable I don't get an IP address. If I reset again the modem and plug in the Ethernet cable I get an IP address but not on the USB link after I unplug the modem.
EDIT: after entering the modem's administration I realized it's firmware was updated (probably my ISP did it.). Also I read about how this stuff works, there is an evidence that my ISP set the CPE limit to 1. (so it seem only one computer connected to the modem can get IP address while the other can't.). And this configuration is stored on the modem somewhere. Is there a way to view it somehow?

I first noticed it when using a program called jDownloader. I contacted the developer and he told me to increase the priority of the task "javaw.exe". This did not solve the problem. The problem also occurs during any form of downloading (Steam or browsers. I haven't tested torrents yet.)

(In other words, does traffic between two computers on the switch have to be sent through the router, or not?)

It seems, that after many hours of downloading at full speed (only one torrent at a time) the speed goes down, and up again, and becoming unstable. My max download speed is 1.5 Mb/s, and it can drop from that, to 50 kb/s, and then up again. and i have no internet access when that happens, but it only last 10-20 seconds and then its back again. Sometimes i get that yellow warning sign on the taskbar which says "No Internet Access" but not always.
Seems like its happening after many hours of downloading at full speed. im on the latest firmware, have tried different channels, 20 Mhz only on Channel Width, different names on the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz channels.. i use the 2.4Ghz channel btw. Otherwise its stable, and i have had no problems while gaming online.

For a good while now, at my home, the internet has been awful.Web pages barely load if at all, I can't play any online games, but when I start a download, either by torrent or regular, the download speed is perfectly fine, reaching the normal 500 kb/s. My router is TP-Link W9801G. We get TV through the router as well, and there never was any problem with it. It works fine, just like the download speed. The DNS and IP settings are all set to automatic like they should, and of course I've tried unplugging and resetting everything.I know it's not the computer's network adapter, because it's the same thing at my laptop when I connect to it wirelessly. The signal strength is at all 5 bars too

I have purchased TL-MR3040 especial for share my 3G account . I have connect it by ethernet port and made setups and it is in 3g/4g only mode. In system checks my modem indicated as " Identified" the modem is a Huawei E160E . My notebook and tablet connects by wireless connection to TL-MR3040 but the router does not dial ISP number *99# . The led on usb modem continues flashing. the 3G modem works perfectly with my notebook and tablet and I use the same parameters for TL-MR3040 with tablet.
