Sharing :: Access Audio From NAS On IPad?
Sep 17, 2012Im curious to know if there is a way, to stream music to my iPad from a drive connected on my network? Either by USB to the router or a hard wired NAS. Im aware of programs like Streamtome but this requires a mini server running on a PC which is want i want to avoid!
I know there are things like the slingbox etc but i cant believe its needed! If you can access the files on a MacBook on the wireless why not an iPad?

Feb 2, 2013I have a TP-Link TL-WN822N wireless usb adapter. It works well, as far as getting a signal.But whenever I use my earbuds I can hear static. When I unplug the adapter, I no longer hear static. It sounds like the static is the sound of data transfer, because the sound get busier and louder when I'm downloading something.I have the latest driver installed.

Dec 9, 2009We have setup the IP phone proxy on our ASA-5520, we had a couple of issues with the initial setup, but nothing major. It has been up and running for a few weeks and basically everything works perfectly just like we designed it except for 1 strange audio issue on outbound calls. We can make a call to anywhere, no problem, if the call is answered, no problem, perfect call setup and good quality 2 way audio. But if the person we called doesn't answer the call and that call goes to their voicemail we loose all audio from that point forward, we do not hear their outgoing message or get any prompts just dead air. The same situation appears to be true for any "recorded" service on the other end of the call.

The SIP client works fine when connected directly to broadband. I tried DMZ and that didn't work. Disabled SPI and that didn't work too.

All admin set up, wired pc connected, wireless notebooks connected, wifi printer connected, and 2 game consoles connected. All work fine!BUT, the router is located here on my desk by the wired pc, cpu, & speakers and we can hear when a software download, software update, or even a router speed test is conducted! What a record sounded like when played at too fast a speed, that is what we are hearing: static and fast high pitched sounds.Tried moving our speaker further away from the router but there is only so far it can be moved.

I have already written and recorded the material in MP3 format.I find that virtually everywhere I look I must pay, or the upload limit is so small that a story of any size can not be uploaded. I have an Ipage web site and two blogger blogs where I could post the link for listeners to download the text. I do need to do it all for free, since I am on S.Security.
Stated differently; I want to offer my audio books and audio essays for free from my blogs or website. I can not seem to find who will store my recordings (large enough to actually be a book) for free. The site should be easy to navigate so impaired patrons can use it easily. I did find one, yourlisten.com, but the user has to agree to buy something from their advertisers before they can download my audio text. For the user, then, the service is not free.Does any one know who will store and share my audio text for free?

Mar 24, 2012I am able to stream audio from a website when i connect directly to my cable modem but when the router is connected it doesnt work. I have tried resetting the router, ping the website and get "request timed out"The firmware is up to date version 2.25 I have tried other computers that access the same network and they also cant stream the audio.I have also turned off my windows 7 firewall with no luck I can access other sites I visit and stream audio just fine so I wonder if the router may be blocking something on this website?Is there a way to allow an audio stream to come through that may be blocked by the router?

Cisco VPN :: 5505 Intermittent One-way Audio Over NEM VPN
Dec 2, 2012I have a user that uses an ASA 5505 in NEM to have his/her laptop and Cisco IP Phone at home. The ASA 5505 establishes a tunnel to an ASA 5510, which is connected and speaking EIGRP to our core switch. Off of the core switch we have our CCM cluster.
The issue happens on the first call after a long period of no calls. After if happens on the first call, he/she can continue to make calls without the issue. I though it was a timeout issue, but his/her ASA configuration is the exact same. Also, he/she is using the same group policy, tunnel-group etc. as everyone else with the same setup.
This issue happens regardless if she has a PC behind the phone or not.Internal calls and external are both affected.
I am aware that most one-audio issues are RTP connectivity issues between the two endpoints. I can clearly see in the routing table of all of our routers, that the route to the subnet her phone is on has not changed for days, and she has had the issue within that amount of time.
I'm looking for a good place to start troubleshooting that doesn't require me to to a pcap. If all else fails, I will do a pcap.

Jun 5, 2011I've got an ASA 5505 running 8.2 configured for solely as an IP phone proxy, it is the default gateway for the cucm box and PRI router, its inside interface is directly attached to the same subnet as all internal phones as well. Calls can be placed from either end, but after call is established, proxy phones does not hear audio from internal or pstn phones. The proxy phone registers with cucm with the remote internal IP of the phone that obviously cannot be reached by corp network.
Debugging from pri router shows the rtp traffic destination is the internal ip address of the proxy phone 192.168.0.50, why is the phone registering with its internal IP 192.168.0.50 rather than its Natted external IP 50.50.50.50 that can be reachable by cucm and other phones?Proxy phone is a 7945, after it registers, I do not see it under sh phone-proxy secure-phones, or sh phone-proxy signaling-sessions while on a call.

But, when i'm home and i use remote access vpn (192.168.200.x) in cisco asa 5520 to connect to my computer A is okay. But, when i try to ping my computer B is not okay. I already do the exemption for 192.168.100.x and 192.168.10.x in nat rules for inside interface (192.168.100.2) ...
Should i put routing from outside 1.1.1.2 to 192.168.10.x by using 192.168.100.1 as a gateway?

Apr 16, 2011When I view my DCS-932L camera in the Main Console of DViewCam, I can here the sounds in the room being viewed. But if I record the video and play it back, there is no audio on the playback. I have the microphone on the camera enableI now have sound recording, however, the audio is about 3 seconds behind the video. Is there a setting somewhere to keep them synchronized? I have checked all the video sync checkboxes I can find.

Sep 26, 2012Advanced networking but have managed to get our small office IP PBX running over a SIP Trunk. The only real problem we are having is choppy outgoing audio when there is other heavy outgoing traffic on the network.
My understanding is that I need to set some QoS parameters, which I have played with but it didn't seem to be useful. I mostly dealt with allocating bandwidth. I now think I need to somehow prioritize the outgoing RTP packets from our PBX (which runs on a PC on our LAN) to avoid the choppy audio. My research shows this can maybe be done with something called DSCP 46 and my router does support that -- how to exactly set the configuration.
Our router is a Cisco rv180w.

Jul 17, 2012I recently bought a Bose Soundlink bluetooth speaker and have paired it with both my ipod touch and ThinkPad w500. The iPod Touch sounds great, but the audio coming through the speaker via the w500 sounds like it is clipping, especially at normal-loud listening levels. Both the soundlink and the w500 have the latest bluetooth driver updates installed. The clipping occurs even when the main volume (and iTunes/Spotify) is turned down to 50% power.whether there is a way to reduce the "power" of the bluetooth signal so it does not cause the speaker to distort. Audio played through the speaker via 3.5mm from the w500 sounds great even at high volume.

Oct 29, 2012On several calls i noticed that the outgoing audio stops for 5..15 seconds randomly. I'd say it happens on an average of every 5 minutes.
When this happens, i can see that the value after "Call1 Packet error:" increases by one. Why just a wrong packet may stop the outgoing audio for so long? i've much more packet losts (about 3%) but they give me no problem at all.
Since a little and cheaper Handytone HT502 gave me intermittent audio too, but the effect was much better (audio still stops, but in a second it comes back), i wonder if is there something i can do by tweaking the WRP400 settings, I'm still using firmware 1.01.00.

Mar 24, 2010We have a new deployment where we have 5 total 7921G wifi phones connected via 2 AP541n access points, one connected to a ESW520p switch and then to the UC540 and the other connected directly to the UC540. The wifi phones are intermittently giving no audio when calling each other, however, calls to the PSTN consistently do have 2 way audio. Is this a security issue perhaps? We are running the latest CCA software pack as this is a brand new deployment, also the AP's were upgraded to the latest firmware.
