I have a TP-Link TL-WN822N wireless usb adapter. It works well, as far as getting a signal.But whenever I use my earbuds I can hear static. When I unplug the adapter, I no longer hear static. It sounds like the static is the sound of data transfer, because the sound get busier and louder when I'm downloading something.I have the latest driver installed.

All admin set up, wired pc connected, wireless notebooks connected, wifi printer connected, and 2 game consoles connected. All work fine!BUT, the router is located here on my desk by the wired pc, cpu, & speakers and we can hear when a software download, software update, or even a router speed test is conducted! What a record sounded like when played at too fast a speed, that is what we are hearing: static and fast high pitched sounds.Tried moving our speaker further away from the router but there is only so far it can be moved.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have setup the IP phone proxy on our ASA-5520, we had a couple of issues with the initial setup, but nothing major. It has been up and running for a few weeks and basically everything works perfectly just like we designed it except for 1 strange audio issue on outbound calls. We can make a call to anywhere, no problem, if the call is answered, no problem, perfect call setup and good quality 2 way audio. But if the person we called doesn't answer the call and that call goes to their voicemail we loose all audio from that point forward, we do not hear their outgoing message or get any prompts just dead air. The same situation appears to be true for any "recorded" service on the other end of the call.

It is giving me problems with VOIP/SIP Traffic.My SIP client connects fine and makes calls, but I cant hear any incoming/outgoing sound. The SIP client works fine when connected directly to broadband. I tried DMZ and that didn't work. Disabled SPI and that didn't work too.

It was originally on DHCP & the 4 computers & 2 printers found their own IP addresses without problem.We added a Linksys router via ethernet (to a lan port not the wan) in another area of the yard. This was fine also on DHCP and connecting wirelessly from a laptop or mobile phone was a doddle.Then our oh so wonderful IT geek decided to put the Vigor on a Static IP along with all the computers connected to it. This has some how cut off the wifi capability of the Linksys router now.It is basically acting as a hub for two laptops and nothing else.In simplistic terms with some detail what settings need changing on the Linksys if any?The Vigors internal IP is 192.168.1.1Linksys is 192.168.1.4both on subnet 255.255.255.0I have been advised to set the Linksys to a static IP on the Internet Connection option but what set of figures do i need for that??

However I can't figure it out in this router as when I revoked the current address it wouldn't let me add a new one, and when I went to add one at .202 to be outside of dhcp range it doesn't let you and says to enter a number within the range, .100-.199

I have a routed /64 and a routed /48 from a tunnel broker that terminates on my DIR-815, and I want to hang the /48 off of another router that I have attached to my LAN interface(goes to my home lab setup that I use for my job). I could just move the tunnel endpoint to the other router, but I like having IPv6 access for all my other PCs on the LAN segment.

Then i change my 655 to PPPoE username and password, but when i give it the static IP, it won't connect. But when i change it to DHCP, it connects. Is this a Router issue, or a ISP issue. I am leaning toward ISP, but i wanted to check with DLink first.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI am currently having issues with the dhcp function on my DIR-615. The issue is some of my devices are never able to connect unless I set them up with static ip. Some of my devices are sometimes able to connect using DHCP but sometimes need to be set up with a static IP. In the log it says something along the lines of "sent out offer for IP 192.168.0.XXX" but the devices never receives the IP. The firmware says it is up to date. The hardware version is C1. Some of the devices having issues are PC's some are Macbooks and some are iphone and ipods. I'm not sure if it is related but when I look at who is using WAN some of the pc's who are connected to the internet have an ip address of 0.0.0.0.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the dir-601 as my main router. Its IP settings are dynamic, not static. My second router, the router I'd like to use as the access point is a Belkin Wireless G Mimo. My goal is to setup the Belkin as an access point downstairs away from the main router. I'd like to do this wirelessly. I'd like to phsycialy plug devices into the Belkin, while the Belkin receives access to the internet wirelessly from my main router, the dir-601.
Here's my issue. There's an easy option to use the Belkin as an access point. So I do this and set the Belkin router to an IP outside the DCHP range ( currently 192.168.0.100 - 192.168.0.199 ) to 192.168.0.250. My dir-601 will only recognize the Belkin access point while plugged in physically. I know this because when I did a ping test it only see's the Belkin when plugged into the dir-601 via ethernet cables. My ultimate goal is to simply set the dlink dir-601 to recognize the Belkin as an access point.
Ok I realise that the 825 doesn't have the ability to create static LAN routes. Is there a workaround or is this somthing that may be implemented in the future. It's a real let down to find this feature missing in an expensive router such as this.

View 7 Replies View RelatedNewly acquired DIR-615 E3 with F/W vers. 5.10. Router configured with IPv4 static address for WAN works fine. As soon as I configure the WAN IPv6 with a static IP address also, the configuration for the IPv4 static IP is corrupted. Other combinations of (WAN config) using static for either IPv4 or IPv6 with DHCP or other seem to work. Just appears to have conflict with two WAN static IP configurations.

The default gateway on the route is another router on the LAN. I have a choice to use interface pppoe (telstra), LAN/br01 (bridge) or no interface. I was assuming I didn't need to use any interface as this is not a bridge setup and is on the LAN, but when I select "no interface" it doesn't save the static route settings.Also, when I select LAN/br01, the routing saves but doesn't actually work (tracert shows not going through the right router).

Im testing 1 942L, I've upgraded firmware to1.11, but periodically the camera loses its ip address which is weird because it is set static. My wireless is set to Mac address security. Now camera is outside in a shaded area, over night the camera worked all night, this morning it has reset three times. Additionally, each time it resets/losses ip address it also loses the manually set time.

I have setup some static addresses but now some of them need to change... But I can't see how to amend the DHCP table..There must be a way of doing this beyond altering the DHCP range so I can put them all in againLAN Setup.JPG.
I am having some trouble configuring dual NAT on a Cisco 1841.
The 1841 has three interfaces.
Fa0/0 - LAN
Fa0/1- Different private network
Fa0/1/0 - Connection to DSL modem
NAT overloading is configured on Fa0/1 and we have traffic that must be router there. We would like to have all internet access go through the DSL modem. Currently internet access is obtained through fa0/1 but is not ideal. I have floating static routes configured if the DSL link goes down. (Which is currently unplugged) I do not have physical access to the router at this moment. We would like to keep the config a simple as possible. It seems like route-maps may be one of our only options.

I have an Optus Home Zone (mobile cell tower) that requires ports open.

I have assigned the Home Zone a Static IP outside the DHCP range and set the above Ports on the NAT, Virtual servers to that IP address.
I have used nmap to scan the ports and it provides open/filtered status for all of them.
Here is the kicker for me, i use a DGN3500 netgear (which keeps dropping WiFi hence its replacement) and enter the ports and it works straight away. Un plug and put the Tp-Link and nothing.
I use Eset Smart Security, could that be the problem?
My old modem from Roadrunner (Time Warner) died and the service man replaced it with a Arris TG852 modem/router. then my problems began. I would like to have the Arris modem act like a modem and not a router. The network governed by the DIR works fine but none of the clients can connect to the internet. Below are the steps I have tried.in both steps below, The DIR is connected to the Arris using the Ethernet not the Wan port.
1. I tried disabling DHCP on the Arris router and setting a static IP address for the DIR router. This worked for a bit and then quit. Some of the computers said there were duplicate IP addresses on the network. If fact the same IP address showed up in the DNS list of the Arris and the DIR routers.. even though the Arris router had DNS disabled.
2. After reading other forums. I enabled DHCP on the Arris and set it to passout IP address between 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.99. I then setup the DOR to pass out addresses between 192.168.0.100 and 192.168.0.200. then moved the DIR into the DMZ of the Arris. Still no access to the internet.
Today I installed the 1.0.2.6 Firmware on a RV180W. I only have now two problems regarding the Static DHCP support in the GUI.
1. Via the Networking > LAN (Local Network) > Static DHCP I have no buttons to Add a new static Lease.
2. Via the Networking > LAN (Local Network) > DHCP Lease Clients I can thick a Lease and click on Make Static IP. The result is an error: Operation failed.
I have a DIR-655 that I have been using for a while (b1 revision). and suddenly I noticed my wifi speed fluctuates constantly. My lenovo Y580 sees speed drop to 130 immediately and then it can slowly progress to 1 Mbps until the hardware is all rebooted. Same happens to my Nexus 7, Dell XPS M1530 and to my roku. Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic. Independent of issue, not a factor
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing. Wired works perfect.Check cable between Modem and Router, swap out to be sure. Cat6 is recommended. Wireless issue.

Today I bought a new TP-Link Wireless Router in China, (TL-WR845N), and set it up with followed instructions with the router IP setup too with 192.168.1.1. Before, it was only LAN and now I bought the wireless to use my iPhone with it. Now LAN wont work at all on either of my computers. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Ethernet drivers, rebooted/checked the modem and router, but still couldn't get it to work. My Windows XP shows connected, but Chrome says unable to connect to the Internet.
I've checked TCP/IP settings, made it automatic, still nothing.
I have a desktop and DIR-655 router upstairs [small house]. Downstairs I have a laptop and a new Panasonic Viera tv with built in WiFi. Panasonic's instructions are simple and suggest a click on the remote and the tv will be recognized. It has not happened. Error message states no connection to the router. View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been having strange problems since I got my DIR 655. Set it up, run through factory wizards, and everything works great for a little while. Maybe week, or as soon as a few minutes I'll lose internet connectivity over wifi. Connection is 100% to the router. I can still log into the router via, but not get out of it to the net. If I plug in my pc via the wired ports everything is still great. Factory reset, and set it up again and It might bee good for a little while. Occasionally I'll get a warning on my PC that there is an IP address conflict when its been on for a long time. I've gone back to my WRT-54g since it still works perfectly. I just want my N bandwidth back. I've gone through and toggled just about every setting that I can think of. Advanced DNS is off.
