View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a server running Windows Server (can be 2003 or 2008 if it matters). The server has multiple IP addresses allocated to it.I want to use the IP addresses *as if they were remote high anonymous proxies*. I want all traffic to and from each application to use the same IP address and I want to be able to add the IP addresses to applications in the same way I would a remote proxy (presumably using 127.0.0.1 ort)So for each 127.0.0.1 ort address traffic travels like so:
application <-> localhost <-> internet facing IP address <-> remote site
Is this even possible? I know I can do this using a seperate Linux VPS running squid but I'm curious as to if it can be done on one server running windows.
In setup for old RV042 (V1), when updating / adding Mac addresses, the table is always sorted by IP addresses. But in the new oneRV042 (V3) I have, even with latest firmware 4.2.1.02 the list is random, thereby increasing the chance of user entering DUPLICATE IP addr with diff Mac addr. That will result in conflict. If the firmware sorts the DHCP entries by ip addresses, user would be able to catch duplicate ip errors even if the system does not flag the errors. All Cisco smart engineers can you all get the dhcp entries SORT by ip addresses.

I have to reset the wep key using my desk top PC and each times the default setting is NOT the password I use. after resetting the lap top recognises the web and I can gain access again. Howver this cycle keeps repeating itself!!! Do I have a hacker who keeps resetting my wep key for their own use?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have an ASA5510 which keeps resetting itself for no apparent reason. It does this several times a day and I cannot see any pattern to the times etc. I don't believe it is load related as it also happens overnight when very little is going through the device. When it happens the device just drops off the network (all interfaces) and then when it comes back a few minutes later we can see from the system uptime that it has in fact rebooted itself.I initially thought it was faulty hardware, so I swapped the device for another 5510, but that does the same thing. I then added a third 5510 and configured it in with the second one as an Active/Passive failover pair. Both devices do the same as the first, the only differences now is that the passive device kicks in and takes over, so we have a little less service disruption each time.

If I take the aircard out, the router is fine (of course doesn't have internet connection), and I can plug the card into a PC and it works fine. I talked to Verizon, and they told me that the air card that we DID have wouldn't work with a router, so they exchanged it and gave us a newer one. The 4G card is the Pantech UML290. I've tried everything I can think of, including updating the firmware on the router (and the router's 4G firmware), I've reset the router to default settings in case a setting got messed up.The guy at Verizon told me that I should basically be able to plug it in and have it work.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI work for a company and I am currently trying to make some changes to the security on our NAS drive, (I will give specifics of the equipment we are using below). The NAS drive we have does have some security functionality on it however we don't have the username and password (it was set up before I arrived and now no one knows anything about it). I am able to restore the NAS to factory settings which apparently will not affect the content of the drive however it will in addition to resetting the password and username, reset the IP address. Now the concern I have is that once I have reset this, then will the computers which are connected to it be no longer able to access the drive which is essential for the business.
The NAS is connected to a switch which then feeds off via Ethernet to 8 separate computers (6 running XP, 2 running Windows 7), will this mean that when the IP address is reset the computers will lose access to the drive or will they be okay as they are still connected via Ethernet. If they will lose access what will I need to do to 'reconnect' them. [code]
For the past 3 days, my connection to the internet has been resetting itself. I get the following message: The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Please try again in a few minutes.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the web.
Now, this happens with only certain sites. The sites it mainly happens to are Playlist.com, MyYearbook.com, and Vampirefreaks.com. I can be on youtube and facebook, and it will be perfectly fine. But once I go to one of the other 3 sites, I get that message, and it completely makes me incapable of browsing the web. I'm forced to close out of everything, and wait at least 5-10 minutes. I've looked around seeing what could be the problem. I've deleted cookies, cache, temporary internet files. I've made sure Firefox was permitted to access the web; used a different browser. I even did system restoration, but all it did was take me back exactly 3 days ago, when the problem first began.I use a lap top, called Asus. It's a 64-bit, Windows 7 operated. I connect to my parents' internet. Our service provider is Comcast. We called them to see if they were having a problem and they said no, everything was perfectly fine on their end; and they refreshed the modem.
I just got Charter cable internet and decided to purchase my own cable modem instead of paying 5 dollars a month to rent one. I got a D-Link DCM-201. I know it is a little old but it was brand new/unused so I figured it would work out well. Ever since we got it hooked up every few hours we lose internet connectivity. The power, cable, and status lights are solid green and the Ethernet light is blinking green. The only fix I have found for this is to power cycle the modem. The problem is this happens about once every 4 hours...having to reset the router every few hours is making having cable internet a much more painful experience than it should be.

I forgot my wpa key, also my default password Is not "admin" I'm pretty sure I changed it after I got my router.
I added a VOIP fax line to my network and in doing so, was forced to reset my router, as it would not go on-line. Now the printers are all off line and I can not get them back online. I followed instructions within admin and it did not work. My network is a 2 computer network. My computer acts as server and then one other computer.

we hadn't have the WEP key on our Linksys wireless router, so we decided, about a month ago, that it was a good idea to lock our wireless connection. So we did. For a couple of weeks, everything worked just fine. But then we bought a new printer, which happened to be a wireless network printer, and in the process of installing it, we mistook the reset button (I think) on the router for some other button and ended up resetting the router. When we did that, we undid WEP key, thereby unlocking the router. Then, we locked the router again, at which point one of our computers--which happens to be mine--ended up not working. All other computers and phones and iPads work just fine, but this one laptop of mine just doesn't work (with respect to wireless internet connections, of course).
- pressing the reset button on the router again. It kind of works. The internet works for about five or ten minutes (which is unbearably annoying because I have to reconnect it every five minutes), but my computer somehow disconnects itself from the internet connection. Also, although the internet technically "works," the wireless network icon thing on the bottom right of the screen has an "X" on it, which I thought meant the internet is not working, but it apparently doesn't, because my internet is working now. And, if I click the icon, it says that I'm not connected, but, again, the internet works. (for about 5~10 minutes, if I unlock the router)
- changing the internet protocol information (I don't think it does anything, but.)
- changing the wireless internet connection property to WPA, WPA-PSK... everything.
*All computers in the house have wireless internet connections but mine.
*When I reset the router, the internet works, although the computer says it isn't connected, and it disconnects itself every 5 or 10 minutes.
I had to send my HPg61 laptop in to check out a heat issue a few months ago. When it came back, I got a headphone jack issue (now resolved) and a Wi-Fi problem - I used to have great wifi from my bedroom to my parent's study which is where the modem is, even when I did have the heat issue, but when I got it back, that all changed. From my bedroom, my laptop would say "no connection detected" and had a red x over the wifi icon in the taskbar, but would have good connection if I were in the living room with it. This didn't last long - one day, the icon turned into a computer with a red x over it.

For some reason, it just stopped working yesterday. I initially checked all my cabling etc and everything seems fine. I next tried resetting my modem/router to factory settings. When I tried to install the Belkin software I fell at the first hurdle with a message saying "The setup assistant is not able to connect to the router". After googling my issue, I followed others advice and running the cmd setting and typing in "ipconfig" only to find that my media state was disconnected.

This is becoming extremley frustrating as I do online gaming with my XBOX 360.I use wired connections using ethernet cables. One to my laptop. And one to my XBOX 360.I have contacted my ISP who have done line checks and I have had an engineer look at my line and all is good. I have also replaced all cables to/from the router including phone cords and ethernet cords. EVERYTHING is new.I recall one incident in which my internet was down and I just couldnt get connection AT ALL. I rang my ISP and they got me to log into my modem settings. The settings were all altered for some reason and I have no idea why. When they told me to enter the details in the settings the internet worked immediatley.
My roommate and I recently got a WRT120N to replace an older Linksys router that was exhibiting the same problems with less frequency. Indeed, the entire reason we got the new router was to fix these problems. Alas, they have become worse.Anyways, what's happening is that the router constantly resets itself. It does this every 20 minutes to an hour and doesn't seem to be related to how much traffic it's dealing with. It's not just the internet going down, it's the entire network, and not even just the wireless part. My computer has a wired connection to the router and, and I get told "A network cable has been unplugged" every time it happens. Then, if I look down at the router, I see no flashing lights, just the steady glow of the power light. It always fixes itself after 10-15 seconds, but it's very annoying. Certainly, playing games online or having a conversation on Skype is made more difficult. As previously mentioned, we replaced our older router because it was exhibiting the same behavior, but the new one does it with greater frequency. At the very least, the router does reset itself instead of needing us to cycle the power. The setup was slightly different with the old router: I was using a wireless connection with a WMP54Gv4 which I've had to disable since it bluescreens the moment it so much as sniffs a signal from the WRT120N?
