Is it possible to enable an absolute value rate limit using QOS on a HP ProCurve 5406 switch for a particular IP range on a specific port? Is there a way to configure our HP 5406 with an absolute rate limit on "WAN" port for that server's IP range? I would like to limit it to only being capable of sending 1Mbps worth of traffic over the head end at once.Everything in the documentation points towards priority queues, which as far as I can tell, isn't really what I want.Baring accomplishing this goal using rate limiting is there a better way to prevent our services from accidentally saturating this connection?i thimkong about somthing like that:
class ipv4 rate-limit-port-A1
match ip 10.136.0.0/16 any
exit
policy qos port-a1-ratelimit
class servers-to-be-slowed action rate-limit kbps 1000
exit
interface A1 service-policy port-a1-ratelimit inI'm not sure about this.

Not really a big problem, but not knowing the answer is killing me. This is what I have:
Host 1 <-> ASA 5505 <-> VPN connection<-> ASA5510 <-> Host 2
The problem is when one of the hosts trys to reach the inside interface of the remote ASA. E.g. Host 1 trying to ping ASA5510 inside interface. Again Host 1 and 2 have the same subnet address of 10.1.1.0/24. I have configured the ASA 5505 to do the the NAT translations.

I have VOIP and was provided a modem, a Tilgen Router (Vood 452_A). I also currently have a Linksys WRT54G router. I also have a home surveillance system with a DVR that can be accessed via the net. I am trying to allow the ports to open so that traffic can navigate down to the DVR.My IPs:My VOIP has provided me with 6 static IP addresses. For sake of this issue they are:
67.xx.xxx.153, through .158My subnetmask is set to:
255.255.255.248My Settings:
The Modem is connected to world. To the modem I have the Tilgen Router connected. The Tilgen is set with an ip of .153 and the subnetmask listed above. DHCP is turned on and has IP range set for .154-.158. It is set in Bridge Mode with NAT and Firewall turned off. To that I have the WRTG54G router connected and assigned the router an Static IP of .154.. The cable is going into the Linksys WAN port.From a computer connected to a LAN port on the WRT54G, I see my public IP as .154, currently my internal IP is 192.168.1.15 so I believe I have to assign one of my Static IPs to this PC, however when I try to connect to the Linksys Router (.154) from the outside web, I am get a time out error. (also from a ping test.) My thoughts are to assign the Linksys to DHCP and use a range of .155-.158 to give each lan item a static IP. My question is will this work? Will each item in the network have its own IP and if I forward the port to the DVR that i needed, ie 80 for web client or 6100 for desktop client, will that forward through?Or do I set it to Router Mode and use the Tilgen to assign the ips.
On the Tilgen I also have an option for a DHCP relay or to turn off DHCP.
For clarification here is the setup chain
Broadband/DSL Line>>Tilgen Modem>>(LANPort1)Tilgen Router(LAN Port2)>>(WAN) Linksys(LANPort1)>>DVR/Computers
Found this walkthrough on setting the WRT54G into a Switch. If I did this, in theory the VOOD would assign those computers/dvr connected downstream via the WRT54G a static ip from my range set on the router. Then in theory I would not need to port forward port 80 since the DVR would be on its own public IP.?

We have the following proplem with the RV 120w router with the last firmware. We can't manage to set up port forwarding. So the situation is like this: we have WAN ip: 192.168.2.68 and our router connects to VPN server and gets an IP like 10.0.10.X. In the inner network we have PCs and a DVR (digital video recorder) with ip 192.168.1.215. Our DVR uses 3 main ports like 81 (http) and 37777 (tcp), 37778 (udp) and we try to make port forwarding with the router interface like the manual says (look and the sceenshot). But when we try to enter our DVR and see the picture from the outside network (we type in browser 192.168.2.68:81) nothing happends. It just dosen't work.
Before cisco we used d-link router and everything worked just fine with the same port forwarding rules.So we need to enter WAN address in Cisco and show the 81 port in the address bar and see the picture from the DVR 192.168.1.215 from the inner network.

I replace our aging rv082 routers with wireless rv220w routers. The gateway to gateway vpn works great, however I am no longer able to manage our print servers port 80 management page. I can ping any host with success, and I can manage hosts that have a port 10000 or 8000 web interface - but no port 80 ones... I had no issues when using the old rv082 routers...

I have a Buffalo NAS with IP address 192.168.1.30 linked to my router, which has IP address 192.168.2.1. Both have the same subnet mask: 255.255.255.0.DHCP on the router assigns IP's to my computers on the network (192.168.1.xxx). How do I access my NAS?

I have a supplier which i need to connect a site to site ipsec vpn connection to (from a draytek router). I have already done this on our main site with no problems using the local ip details of 192.168.1.0 and subnet 255.255.255.0 however i need to do the same on our DR site which uses the ip details of 10.1.0.0 and subnet of 255.255.0.0. Our supplier told me the 255.255.0.0 is already used at there end by a different customer so we are unable to connect the vpn and communicate (in theroy we can connect but our supplier cannot reply). We can setup a connection to another spare server on a different address using a different subnet but effectivly this would mean that communication would stop at that server and communcation to the overall network or specific server the supplier needs access to (on the 10.1.0.0 255.255.0.0 network) is not possible. I was thinking maybe an internal vpn server to server connection through win server may do it, 2 nic cards or routes in the server routing table but this all seems a bit messy. Our network consits of win 2003 and 2008 R2 servers and is basic network with modem-vpnfirewall-switch and devices on the internal network connecting to the switch.

How can one forward a range of ports?
Suppose I have defined the following service:
Service: TEST
Port type: UDP
Starting port: 5060
Ending port: 5070
and I want to forward it to a specific IP. Then, if I create a new port forwarding rule for this service it asks me to specify a single port number to be used internally as:
Action: Always Allow
Service: TEST
Source IP: Any
Destination IP: 10.0.0.100
Internal Port: ?
I want to forward all ports from 5060 to 5070 to the internal range 5060 to 5070.

I am not a tech guy but have to take care of some basic IT stuff. I had Ether fast cable/DSL router and it got changed with RV 120W router. there were comment that internet is now working slowly - what could be the reason for this?
I copied most of settings. First big technical problem was with phone. It stopped working - call could get through but when answered there was no sound. We use linksys modem for VoIP. I called operator and was told to disable sip alg. I did that and service improved a little. When answering a call sound could get through but would stop for few moments and then continue. Operator told me to forward port 16384 to 16482 to VoIP modem IP. But I can only set forwarding for one port at the time in "Port forwarding" settings. Is there a way to forward to port range?

I am trying to connect to my office PCs via VPN and/or RDP. The office uses Qwest DSL and has a dynamic IP address. I use DynDNS.org to keep the DNS updated with the WAN address of the router. However, any attempt to access the network fails. I have tried remote management access (I enabled it on the router) but that fails. I forwarded RDP ports on the router to one of the PCs but can't connect to it. I also set up a VPN server but cannot connect to it either. Something tells me that all requests to myoffice.homeip.net are not getting to my modem/router. I have even tried the IP associated with the name (Yes, I did check that it is correct!) but nothing works there either.

I have two locations in the same city and I want to connect them together so I can share files and printers. Each of the LANs has a router and is a simple workgroup. LAN A uses 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0; LAN B is 192.168.2.1 255.255.255.0. What is the best way to connect these two networks together so I can share printers on both sides? My boss is asking me to write a batch file or use a utility to monitor the uptime of 16 different ISP accounts that we use across several stores. Most stores have several ISP accounts setup as failover, so they're not always active on our network but the ISP should still be up. He would like this to run from one of our servers. He is suggesting the 'gateway' for the ISP however I am not sure how to find this IP. The tracert utility returns IP addresses which are different than the gateway address in our router settings so I am wary to use those IPs.Which IPs would I ping to monitor the uptime and where would be the best place to find them?

I have a brand new RV042 v3 that I just updated to the latest firmware (v4.2.1.02) and have stumbled across an anomaly... I can only access the router from the WAN port using port 80. I happen to have it set to port 8080, but that doesn't work; I have to use standard port 80.
I have two other RV042 units running older firmware and they work as expected and follow the port that is filled in. This one has me puzzled and wondering if this is a bug in the firmware.

I have a Cisco 678 connected to my ISP (Qwest) using DHCP. This is connected to a Linksys WRT54g router. I also have a home server running for remote access to some files and media streaming. I just installed security cameras that I wish to monitor remotely via the internet.I can access my home files over the internet with no issue. However I am unable to access my cameras using the internet. Looking at my router incoming log, I see my request arriving, but I never get to the DVR attached to the camereas for remote viewing.I enabled bridging on the Cisco 678 but this did not solve the issue.

I have a RV120W; configured to perform port forwarding. I have Configured a Port Forwarding and Access Rule
* Sample Firewall: Access Rules:
Action | Service | Status | Connection Type | Source IP | Destination IP
[Code]....
Everything works, but in my destination server, i see as remote address the IP for the RV120W. I want it to forward also the originating IP address of the client (the remote address)
Is it possible to configure this?
I have also configured DMZ for my server, but see same behaviour
Firmware: 1.0.3.10

I know some business routers need to be registered to have certain functions work. I have gone through the knowledge base and there seem to be a few with my issues. Sadly I have been doing IT since 86 and playing with larger Cisco boxes for over a decade. So that's a little of my back ground, I also have a MCSE (W2K), A plus, Net Plus etc... so I know its got to be something stupid that I missed or something wrong with router. It was purchased new just before the holidays and I tried calling the posted Cisco number and the auto phone wanted a PO agreement before it would connect me. OK so alI need to do is Port forward two ports (3389, and 82) same ports internal and wan side. The internal is being sent to two different IP address, one per port config. So I did set up the UPNP, set up the service as enabled, and really looked in the knowledge base to see if I was missing something. So I left the site although just before I left I set up the remote admin login from the wan side. This does not even pick up, There is no other firewall between the device and the internet except for the T1 dmark.
This is a RV 08 new router so need a phone number for small business cisco for new products. I miss those good ole days where everything you needed to open and forward a port was located in one area in a router firmware setup.

Mgmt Vlan 1 (default) Data VLan 10 (with access to internet) Is there a way to have a PC attached to a SG300 switch such that it can both access Vlan 10 for data and Vlan 1 for managment ? The PC's port clearly needs to be untagged PVID on vlan 10. I have tried adding vlan 1T and setting the port as a trunk port but to no avail, The switch is currently level 2. I am guessing this might not be possible in level 2 without setting the mgmt vlan to 10 ?.

I have the E3000 wired/wireless router and want to be able to manage my two SLM2008 switches with 192.168.1.253 and .254. Following the guides with adding vlan 2 and tagging the ports in which the two switches are wired together disables my ability to manage them seperately. I have added the gateway on 192.168.1.1 to both switches and told them that management vlan is 2 but no luck accessing them still.

I have followed directions and forwarded the two ports to the local machine. I looked in the router setup to find my current public ip address from Comcast say its 98.221.99.99. If I am on the same network as the machine that is receiving the port forwards, and I type http:// 98.221.99.99 in a browser, the forwarding works fine.If I am external/not on the same network, typing http:// 98.221.99.99 in a browser times out. I have tried http:// 98.221.99.99:9000 too (9000 is the port I need forwarded) and that doesn work either.But, I do have remote management enabled for the router and if I am external/not on the same network and I enter http:// 98.221.99.99:8080 in a browser, I get the router login screen and can enter my user name and password and login to the router just fine.

I've opened the same port on my firewall in windows 7. I've disabled my firewall completely. Everything should be cool, but still, checking with canyouseeme.org and asking friends to join. It is still blocked. It simply doesn't work.. I checked my router for any firewall but couldnt see any.. So yeah I'm 100% I fixed it on the router, unless someone is gonna tell me that there is still an option in the router that might fix it.. but I think I did something wrong in the firewall..Although I have been trying to get this to work all day.. I'd rather get some advice on the firewall or other options in my router. Btw, I am using AVG free edition, and I am pretty sure there is no firewall in that version, but there might be something I have to disable in order for this to work ?
