Sep 19, 2011I've just setup my router and dvr system. I have my DVR wired to a Linksys E1200 router. At home view by using url....it then prompts me to log in and voila I can view. I tried setting up the port forwarding although I'm not sure if I did it correctly or not. I got onto my routers webpage. Went to "applications & gaming" Named port, selected both, put in DVR's ip address and clicked save. Came to work and tried to view it and I just get the "cannot load webpage" page.

Jan 12, 2011My work has a main office and a backup office which is off site. What I am trying to do is copy a folder from one computer at the backup site to another computer at the backup site, all while sitting at my computer in the main office. Let's say the two computers at the backup site are called comp1 and comp2.Whether I use Windows Explorer, or .net VB script, or XCOPY from the command prompt, if I try to copy \comp1c_drivefolder to \comp2c_drivefolder from my computer then it takes an extremely long time - around 5 hours for 2Gb of data.
However, if I Remote Desktop into comp1, and from that machine copy C:folder to \comp2c_drivefolder then it only takes 5 minutesI can only assume that when I try to copy the folder from my computer remotely that it is transferring the data from comp1 -> my computer -> comp2, and with the computers being at different sites it's very slow. What I need to know is if I can do this remote copy using VB without the data going via my computer, i.e. straight from \comp1 to \comp2.
I thought this was the way Windows handled copying between networks anyway, i.e. straight from one to the other, my only explanation for the terrible speed is that it is going via my computer. I'm writing a basic folder-backup program in VB and would REALLY like to cut that 5 hour transfer time down to the 5 minutes I know the network can do

Sep 8, 2011In regards to QoS profiles on the WLC. I have applied a profile to a newly created WLAN and set the Per User Bandwidth to 512k and it seems to be kicking in on the ingress only, this is supposed to work ingress AND egress or is it just designed to work one way? I have a 4402-25 with Cisco 3500 AP's and am running the 7.0.98 code. If it is designed to work one way only is there a different way to apply it ingress and egress simultaneously off the WLC?

May 12, 2013We have two L3 3560's. One 3560 has an upstream MPLS router. The other 3560 has an upstream backup VPN router. Both of these 3560's are L3 switches with IP routing enabled. I created a PBR on both so that specific traffic routes through the MPLS router, while other traffic routes over the backup VPN router. I'm trying to apply the PBR to the SVI's, on each switch. However, when I do a "sh run", the PBR does not appear under either SVI. I've enabled the SDM Routing template, made sure that ip routing was enabled, and even verified that the IOS has the capability. Not sure what else to check for.

Jun 3, 2012I have an issue with applying a patch to an ACS 1121 appliance running version 5.2.0.26. I have 5 units that needed updating and the first one is the unit with the problem. The subsequent ones updated with no issues.
When I do a show version the 5.2.0.26.10 does not show. When I try to do a reinstall I get back patch all ready exists. When I try to do an uninstall I get back patch does not exist.
Is there a command can wipe out patch 10, so I can start over? The CLI factory-reset only wipes the web configuration not the running-config or IOS.
D-Link DIR-655 :: IP Camera Cannot FTP Images
Feb 20, 2011I own 2 different Panasonic IP cameras (BL-C30 and BL-C210A), which in the past have been able to FTP captured images to a host (in this case, the UGOLOG service). Upon upgrading my router to the D-Link DIR-655, this ability stopped. I also tried HTTP transfer, and this too is now unsuccessful.I can access these cameras from the internet, so the router is properly opening the ports. In my testing, I was able to FTP directly to the site via browse (ftp://) with no issues at all. The port/userid/password was accepted. On the cameras, I've played with login timing and data transfer method (active/passive), to no avail. The cameras report: Could not connect to FTP server. (panasonic error code: 133 80005008H) and FTP error 426: Connection closed, transfer aborted.On the DIR-655, firmware Version :1.35NA.

Dec 23, 2011Verizon recently sent an e-mail to a friend of mine suggesting that she modify the server settings in her Windows Mail (her OS is Vista -- ugh!) to use SSL. It's an easy change (have to change the POP3 port to 995 and the SMTP port to 465, and choose SSL/TLS for encryption).I know nothing about encryption protocols and what advantages they provide over unencrypted e-mail. For example, earlier this week, she received a hacker e-mail (the infamous "shipping confirmation" that appears to come from Amazon.com, but all the links open "redpouch.com", which immediately tries to upload malware to your computer). She (and I) have no idea how the hacker got her e-mail address -- or those of a dozen other addressees all of whom have the domain "verizon.net".It would appear the hacker got into Verizon's server and stole the addresses. Would using SSL make that impossible to do? If not, what extra security does it provide?

We provide internet access for a number of clients sitting on our WAN, at present they have un-restricted access to the full bandwidth of our 1Gb internet pipe. As they are only paying for a proportion of that we want to set a Mbps limit on the clients, and idealy the device should be transparent between our router and the clients.
I have been trying to set up rate limits on a bridge on our 1841.

I have tried many combinations but can't get this to limit the traffic, the client still draws as much as they can.
Does rate limit work on bridged interfaces? or am I going to have to try it routed instead?

Jan 25, 2012Whenever I load a gallery of images or even when I open up a couple of websites, sometimes the image/website won't load and is perpetually loading, only to time out minutes later.I've tried out different browsers (Chrome, Firefox) on my wired desktop and tried this on my Laptop through WiFi with the same two browsers. The result was the same each time. So it's not about faulty computer hardware, software or malware on the machines. [code] When I ran a Speedtest.net test, this weird issue happened on the end-result screen. Normally when you do a test there, you can share/compare etc. But for me, that content did not appear.On Reddit I browsed a couple of ragecomics for my leisure and then some of the img.ur hosted images won't load. I know this issue still exists, because I use Randomly ordered wallpapers / Wallbase.cc to test out the case. By using this link, you're presented with a bunch of random thumbnails. So I scroll down and keep loading thumbnails as fast the website and I can endure. But at one point, it will stop at a random thumbnail, load the first 20% of the image and freeze. Or it will load 20%, freeze, and continue loading the rest. I also tried this out by opening wallpapers, closing them with CTRL+W, repeating this process until one of them refused to load, but when I refreshed the browser it would magically load the image.
I have reset my modem and my router, the router has been restored to factory defaults. So I'm clueless on what could be the cause of this weird issue. Nothing in the LAN has changed, this started about a week ago. I've narrowed it down to the router, but there's nothing in the settings that would cause this behaviour.
