I can't even watch youtube videos with just one laptop connected because the ads take 5 minutes to load. Is this normal behavior for this router? Do I need to upgrade to be able to Skype?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a EA3500 router and the setup went fine. I have two computers on the network and both have acces to the Internet. But on one of them which runs Windows 7 and MCAfee Antivirus I cannot watch any videos from Youtube. On the other one which runs Windows XP all videos are running great. I've check the firmware version and it is the last one. I've try to disable the firewall in McAfee and it still does not work.

I heard about Roku & thought that is what I wanted or Blueray with DLNA. But Roku just pulls streams from subscriber sites like Netflix & Hulu. DLNA will allow you to view video you have on your HDD but will not let you stream live feeds like watching a live event that is streaming on your PC. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have some 1080p video files on my PC. Since my PC isn't powerful enough to play the files smoothly, I have been streaming the content to my PS3 using Windows 7 media sharing.
This works well with no noticeable loss of quality.
My problem is that I have to go into the services on my PC and restart the WMPNetworkSvc service every time I switch the PS3 on, otherwise the PS3 doesn't detect the PC.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I got 8MB/1MB internet at home and so far I haven't been able to fix the problem I have: if I watch youtube and try to play pretty much any game that uses internet, i go from 70ms ping to 300ms++ instantly. Even if only two computers are on and both have the same game on, just opening a Google Chrome with one youtube tab on causes a HUGE ping. Two computers with youtube and CS 1.6 on shouldn't cause that.My setup is as following: old ZyXel ADSL-modem 660 series with one LAN port and web config (so it has settings to be modify) and a Linksys WRT54GL with DD-WRT v23. All computers I use run either 32-bit Windows 7, Vista or XP. However, it doesn't matter which computers I use; I've tried this with more than 5 computers already. All cables have also been tested and changed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was able to play youtube and open the website but last 3-4 days every time i try to open the website it say's "Server not found Firefox can't find the server at www.youtube.com...". every other website is opening fine i tryed IExplorer, google chrome and it's the same, scaned for malware, no problems in hosts file, cleared cookies, fixed registry with CCleaner, and still have the problem. My pc info: Win 7 ultimate 32-bit SP1, intel pentium dual cpu E2200, 2.0GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT, with avast anti virus.

(perhaps a custom role?)I've been able to customize the dashboard for my own account to show what is most relevant, but am unable to figure out how to apply this layout and setup to all other users.
Basically, I have a number of folks that need to see this data, but that I can't exactly count on to setup their own dashboards to show the important details. I can not add FTP to this website, we have to completely redo it with code and whatnot in order to have access to FTP. We would like users to download a template from our website (no problem) and then send us their artwork files back to us. These can be upwards of 150mb. Is there another option that i am not aware of to do this? Can't use email, has a limit of 25mb.

I also wanted to add addiontal users. The help indicates there is a User List Add Entry option but from the Administration bar, the left hand menu option shows User Management & User Privileges options. On User Management, it is possible to change the 2 default user names, but I wanted to leve them and create new ones.
I would like to know how i can boot other users off of the wifi network temporarily. How can i do this? Ive tried adding their mac address to the router admin, not sure if ive done it correct though, its a dlink login.Failing that is there any programs that can do this?? Ive come across one called wifijam but its only available for mac.

The three computers are Windows 7 64bit desktop, Windows 7 64bit laptop, Windows XP Professional 32bit desktop.
What I tried so far...
Right-click on folder I wanted to share
Click on Sharing Tab
Click on Advanced Sharing>Permissions>Add...>Locations
I only see the name of the local computer, I don't see the two other computers on the network. The window looks similar to this, how I can find the other computers in my network, in the locations window.
I've got an HP Microserver, running server 2008 R2 foundation, and I'm using it for file sharing. All files are in a single folder with subfolders, and located in drive C.
The problem is that the server limits the number of LAN connections to it to 31. I've already changed the max. number of connections to the maximum, but doesn't seem to work. Network discovery and file sharing are on, firewall is off, full access rights for everyone.
The error I get when trying to access the shared folder is: 'Microsoft Windows Network: No more connections can be made to this remote computer at this time because there are already as many connections as the computer can accept'
Right now every computer is connected through a workgroup and some computers are sharing files to everyone and some need a login to share other files. I want to run a main server where all the files are on that computer and have it share all the files to everyone else on the network. I'm not too familiar with Windows workgroup networking and file sharing.I want to have certain files accessible to certain computers and certain files accessible to everyone on the network. I'm under the impression that I have to have the main server with all the business documents. Then create separate accounts on the server and hand them out to each individual computer. After, go to each document and specify who can access what with read/write. Can I share some files to everyone and have certain files limited to other computers at the same time? How would someone access the shared files when you need a login and will this login conflict with files shared to everyone and files shared to certain people. I remember on my small business network I need a login for certain computers because it is shared to only certain people then how would I access the files shared to everyone when I have to login to see the server files to begin with?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI thought that there are more security issues than LAN issues, I have a network with 11 computers of which 1 is SME server and 10 are clients (mainly 256MB DDR1 tech machines withceleron D processors, onboard VGA and sound; there are few 1024MB DDR2, AMD Sempron LE processors). All clients have XPSP3, .NET framework 1.1+2.0, Office 2003, AvastFree 7.0, Mozilla Firefox 7.0 and several utilities not very important. Every client has 2 users (Admin and User) on Local Machine and 1 on DOMAIN (UserDomain). Both User accounts are limited. First, all computers were in same workgroup and not part of DOMAIN. In that time, printers on clients were shared among themselves and worked flawlessly. After joining the clients to the DOMAIN, the work continued without issues. One day, I have changed the name of the SME SERVER computer and the issues have started. Several clients can not connect to those shared printers, even others are using them well. When I want to add shared printer I can not browse the particular computer on which the shared printer is (through ADD PRINTER wizard). I manage to do it writing the full path of the particular computer and there I can choose the printer.
After selecting it, username and password is required to finish the adding. Of course I use the Admin username ad password, and after typing it error message pop up (printer is unavailable or can not connect to it). After this I close all windows, start the adding procedure again, and then I can add the printer normally. The problem continues, because, on those computers on which I have had this complicated way of install, after several days shared printers refuse to print saying Access denied. Then I have to delete the printer again, install it twice and hope to work after that for a weak at least.
The problem is getting bigger, as on one client computer I can not print from browsers (Firefox 7, IE 8) but from Office there is no problem. Of course I have checked other topics about this and use setups-modifications-advices but they did not solve printing problems. I have even reinstalled that computer, but the problem remains.
