We have a server with lots of home videos on. We currently run HFS so that the files can be accessed by anyone on the home network and download them.
What software would I use to be able to stream the videos in realtime through a browser?
I have some 1080p video files on my PC. Since my PC isn't powerful enough to play the files smoothly, I have been streaming the content to my PS3 using Windows 7 media sharing.
This works well with no noticeable loss of quality.
My problem is that I have to go into the services on my PC and restart the WMPNetworkSvc service every time I switch the PS3 on, otherwise the PS3 doesn't detect the PC.
how to make this a permanent arrangement?
My kid is often watching youtube videos,i dont want to block that, i want to slow them, slow video streaming any one tell how to make video site slower.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I got 8MB/1MB internet at home and so far I haven't been able to fix the problem I have: if I watch youtube and try to play pretty much any game that uses internet, i go from 70ms ping to 300ms++ instantly. Even if only two computers are on and both have the same game on, just opening a Google Chrome with one youtube tab on causes a HUGE ping. Two computers with youtube and CS 1.6 on shouldn't cause that.My setup is as following: old ZyXel ADSL-modem 660 series with one LAN port and web config (so it has settings to be modify) and a Linksys WRT54GL with DD-WRT v23. All computers I use run either 32-bit Windows 7, Vista or XP. However, it doesn't matter which computers I use; I've tried this with more than 5 computers already. All cables have also been tested and changed.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI use to could be able to watch videos and listen to music, and download at optimal speeds, I could even watch HD if I wanted to, but now all of a sudden (starting at least 3 weeks ago) videos, downloads, and music seem to run super slow no matter what quality I have it on. It takes 5 minutes to buffer a 3 min video, and if I want to watch a show, it take like 2 or 3 hours to fully buffer. My internet still goes fast, and I have trendmicro antivirus, as well as ccleaner, i updated my drivers, i have ie9 and adobe flashhplayer 11.1, i updated everything in windows update, i unplugged the modem for awhile and shut down more often, and opened it up and blew all the dust out. I don't know what else to do. I do have a cisco E2000 wireless router if that's a problem, and both my ps3 and my computer are on the connection, but my computer was working fine with both on the same connection for a year. I go on the http:192.168.1.1 cisco place, and i renewed ip settings, and nothing worked.

Now working in HD (1920x1080) and find that the TV does not even see the mpg files, let alone play them. If I convert the HD files to SD they are then visible again. It seems odd that a HD TV cannot see and play HD videos.

Both a gateway laptop and an HP laptop also work hardwired.When I use a Wireless Access point, it works fine with the laptops. However, when I use the Lenovo desktop connected directly by wire to the WAP, I only get "partial" internet access.I can ping yahoo, I can get a google page. But any "thick" content seems to be blocked.I can't play any youtube videos on the Lenovo via the WAP, or view websites with rich content.I get the youtube page, but it hangs on play. the laptops work wether wired to the router, or wired to the WAP. View 6 Replies View RelatedThe problem is- in the last week our internet has been very slow and has never been like this in the 4 years that we have had it, we havent moved or disturbed any wires or the router or changed any settings, im thinking its a problem with the hub it self because its the laptop, pc, mobile phones (wifi) and bbc iplayer on the wii that are affected which all worked fine upto a week ago and now we cant play videos as they just keep buffering the wii say it cannot play due to insufficent bandwidth? When a machine is on the local subnet, it can see the video; however, when it's moved to the DMZ, the unit can be accessed, but all video screens are black and an java script error pops up as follows: URl This message does not pop up when on the local subnet. Additionally, in the login screen, there is a language selection, and sometimes all languages are blanked out. There is a space for them, but they don't display. I've tried this on a half a dozen machines, either XP or Win7 with IE8 and IE9, and they all do the same thing. I disabled http inspection, but that doesn't work. I also did a packet capture, and the only packets that traverse the ASA.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI noticed my tumblr dashboard was loading corrupted thumbnails. I first thought that tumblr was having problems, until it started happening on my deviantArt, and YouTube. I was worried that it was my computer, but then the same thing started happening on my moms' Macbook, and then her Wi-Fi streaming television started corrupting the video. And then, sometimes a website won't load fully, but will instead load part of it's code, or instead my browser (I've tried on Google Chrome, Firefox and IE) tells me the webpage is unavailable, or doesn't exist. It'll load up semi-properly (with the corrupted images still) after a refresh or two, but it's tiring and worrisome.

I keep getting disconnected from internet every once in while. Maybe for a minute or less, but there was never any obvious sign of disconnection, IE. my tray icon never says disconnected or limited connectivity. But there are signs of getting disconnected when I am either gaming or watching videos online. The video would buff a bit then get stucked, then loads after a few to 30 sec delay. When gaming, I would lag out or have everyone waiting for me to connect back (warcraft3, starcraft When I am downloading files, this does not ever happened, no matter how big the file size is. This problem started a few days ago. I tried restart the modem but I cannot possible do that every 15 mins. Another problem that could possibly be also be the same is that I am connected but cannot browse websites. If I am downloading anything, it will still keep download, i just can't browse or log on to online games.

I can search and browse youtube, but when I click on the video, the page loads but the video just doesn't load. I can see the play/pause button and the circle telling use the video is loading. Then that's it. Nothing happens. When I plug back my WNR2000, Youtube videos load fine. Same thing on my roommate's laptop. It all started when I updated my DIR-655 to the newest firmware 2.07NA because I wanted to have an Open NAT for my PS3 because it was set on Strict and I wasn't able to fix it other than updating my router. I have just purchased 3 DCS-932L'S and installed 3.11 D-ViewCam software. I have done my best to configure the mainconsole correctly so that my cam's will record on motion based occurances on a weekly schedule of 24 hours a day everyday. I have a lot of evidence that the system is recording as when I have the console open that there is motion detected and there are 3 folders in my nas unit that has tons of .dat files in them. My problem comes in when using the playback system. When I select the search by date/time button and locate the folder that is for a the camera I am interested in playing video for the results never show up!
