Switches :: Can't Connect Internet Through Router

When I moved in with my new husband, we kept his internet provider, but I wanted to use my new wireless router with his modem. I can connect to the internet straight from the modem on both our PC and my laptop, and can connect to the wireless router (excellent strength). When I connect the modem to the router, however, the internet connection is lost. For some reason (I never had this issue with my old modem) I can not get the two to communicate with each other. I have tried resetting my router to factory default, and shutting everything down and going through the manuals step by step. I can not get the USB connection to work with the modem (driver won't install/can't be found on the disk) and both the modem and my laptop only have one connecting port for the Ethernet cable, so currently I can't connect the router to the modem and my modem to the computer at the same time.

I'm having trouble connecting my 02 dongle to the internet using my router. My router is a TP-LINK MR3420 and my 02 modem device is E1752. I checked to see if the modem is compatible and it says it is. I went through the configuration that was given to me with the router and I tried using you tube but nothing. Do i need to get a static I.P address off my Internet provider? If I plug my 02 USB dongle directly into my computer it works perfectly and I got the router to work using a Ethernet cable and plugging it into the WAN port at the back of the router but I would prefer to let it connect through the 3g port

I have a Netgear N300 Wireless Router (WNR2000), and I am trying to connect the internet through it. The internet light stays amber, and though the router recognizes it, I can not connect to the internet. My computer also doesn't seem to recognize the router at all. Installation CD will not work either.

with a networking issue that I'm having with the 2nd computer I have trying to connect to the interntet via my Westell 7500 DSL router. I cannot connect to the Internet. I have a d-link router/modem combination DSL-2640B that was working on my old XP pc that died. My new laptop is a 64-bit Windows 7 machine that cannot see my router. I can connect to the Internet using my iPad. When I enter http://192.168.1.1, I get an error on EI 9 that says Internet Explorer cannot display the web page. Ipconfig returns an auto configuration address of 169.254.46.231 I cannot ping the router. I can't figure out how to get into my router to reset it. I have unplugged everything, flushed DNS, and restarted with no difference. I can't cut and paste because I cannot get to the Internet from my Laptop.

I have installed 8 cameras that go to my 8 camera DVR. I have a 4 channel router that goes to my Comcast cable modem. I would like to view my cameras from anywhere that I can get on a computer. I have the DVD that came with my DVR and I don't know much about doing this kind of work. What do I have to do to view my cameras from any computer? My problem is I can not connect to any ftp server or any database server using my home internet connection. But i can connect to the same servers using my work internet or even using my 3G mobile connection.I tried to contact with my service providers with no luck.I am using a Zyxel wireless router. I have a stack of 6 switches and I want to add another over the gbit connector using fiber. I already connected but I can acces the network from the new switch. I don't have any issues on my Stack all resources are available Do I need to do some special setup or connection to enable this? Can be stacked like the others? I just bought a new Netgear N300 router to go along with the Mediacom cable internet I just signed up for. I can plug the ethernet cable straight from the modem into my computer and get internet. Unfortunately this only works after I run the windows diagnostic to correct the errors that wont allow me internet access (unable to connect to IP address, lack of DNS server) but eventually I get access. The instruction then tell me to run the ethernet from the modem to the router and then another cable to my computer from the router. When I do this, I lose all internet access. I thought I just had to instal the router using the provided disk but it never gets past the internet connection test.I have tried to provide the correct IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and dns servers like requested but clearly I am messing something up.

My internet keeps dropping off since my last device connected to my wireless home network and we have to keep hitting the reset button. Do different routers support more devices than others?

I have an Iball Baton Router. I am not able to connect to it from my PC. However, I am able to connect to the router from my Laptop.I have tried isconnecting and renewing the ip. Can see that ip (192.168.1.102) is issued to my PC and can ping to the same. But, do not get any reply when I ping to the gateway (192.168.1.1 - ip for the router). My OS is Windows 7 64 bit.Let me know if you need any more information

I have a linksys E3000 gigabit wireless router with 4 ports, two unmanaged Trendnet 8 port gigabit switches and one unmanaged Trendnet Poe 8 port 10/100 switch. My question is what is the right or best way to connect these together? (The majority of connections are just to unused wall connection plates, the used connections are to a home automation controller, a security dvr, a roku, a wdtvlive media player, a NAS, a network printer, a security screen and two desktops computers) example
1. use a standard ethernet cable for each switch to the router?
2. Use a standard ehternet cable from the router to switch 1 then from switch 1 to switch 2 to switch 3?
3. Use a standard ehternet cable from the router to the 1st switch then a cross over cable to switch 2 then cross over cable to switch 3??
