I'm unable to connect to the router IP in my address bar as stated above and I don't know what to do to find out what the issue is. I've looked in many topics in the tech support but couldn't find a fix. I run my internet on this computer with an ethernet cable plugged into the wall.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I moved in with my new husband, we kept his internet provider, but I wanted to use my new wireless router with his modem. I can connect to the internet straight from the modem on both our PC and my laptop, and can connect to the wireless router (excellent strength). When I connect the modem to the router, however, the internet connection is lost. For some reason (I never had this issue with my old modem) I can not get the two to communicate with each other. I have tried resetting my router to factory default, and shutting everything down and going through the manuals step by step. I can not get the USB connection to work with the modem (driver won't install/can't be found on the disk) and both the modem and my laptop only have one connecting port for the Ethernet cable, so currently I can't connect the router to the modem and my modem to the computer at the same time.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new Netgear N300 router to go along with the Mediacom cable internet I just signed up for. I can plug the ethernet cable straight from the modem into my computer and get internet. Unfortunately this only works after I run the windows diagnostic to correct the errors that wont allow me internet access (unable to connect to IP address, lack of DNS server) but eventually I get access. The instruction then tell me to run the ethernet from the modem to the router and then another cable to my computer from the router. When I do this, I lose all internet access. I thought I just had to instal the router using the provided disk but it never gets past the internet connection test.I have tried to provide the correct IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and dns servers like requested but clearly I am messing something up.

I have a WD, 1TB, external harddrive with a USB connection and would like to know if it is possible to get a USB hub with an ethernet connector to connect into the back of my router. I checked to see if the modem is compatible and it says it is. I went through the configuration that was given to me with the router and I tried using you tube but nothing. Do i need to get a static I.P address off my Internet provider? If I plug my 02 USB dongle directly into my computer it works perfectly and I got the router to work using a Ethernet cable and plugging it into the WAN port at the back of the router but I would prefer to let it connect through the 3g port

I need to buy a new wired and wireless router so I can sync my new Android 4G phone (I'm in an area with bad cell coverage but I can sync with wi-fi).
