So I have to complete a lab using OPNET and I've attempted to complete it using the the step by step lab outline 3 times now, and each time, it fails to capture the Client_HTTP Page Response Time statistic on the 10-T lan based in africa. It's failing to capture it in all 3 scenarios, so something must be wrong in the configuration. As I've said, I've redone this lab 3 times, so something must be wrong in the manual.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have managed to simulate to Cisco ASA's on GNS3 - ASA1 and ASA2. ASA2 is configured as multiple mode to enable contexts while ASA2 has been configured as single mode.
On ASA2 I can assign an IP address to its gigabitethernet interfaces as normal, however I'm unable to assign an interface to the gigabitethernet interfaces on ASA1.
My objective is to analyze company network and enhance it.So I went to this company and ask them to give their network design.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI do not have a modem in my flat from ISP, only a cable, since the internet is set for every apartment in the building. I have a username and password that I use to connect. There is no problem connecting with the cable. I set up by Belkin wireless router and I'm actually connected to internet wirelessly but it only works if I also enable the primary ISP connection on my computer - so my laptop is connected to internet without a cable. But this weird connection does not allow me to connect my phone to wireless or any other computer. Also the router settings site says not connected to internet and the internet light on Belkin is off

My firmware was 1.0.0.30 and i Update it to 1.0.1.9.
When i was try to connect with my VPN i am unable to reach it with error 800. MS says your firmware is too old so you get this error.
At the same time for VNC and some other stafs was necessary to open ports. Until now it seems that the router is not opening the ports.
What i should do? Return to the old firmware? Any extremely changes at new firmware so they had add more options for the ports? All the configuration is exactly the same as it was before the upgrade.
I have an Inspiron 570 desktop that has worked fine for at least 6 months since the warranty expired...we had a power surge last week while I was gone and when I returned I was unable to get the wired network to work. I ran the diagnostics and it said that my cable was not plugged in...it was. I rebooted, reseated cables, etc. with no luck. I reset the cable modem and router, reseated cables, rebooted, etc with no luck. I plugged the cable into a laptop and it worked fine.
The diagnostics tools on the desktop indicate there are no issues with the network adapter and that it is allegedly working fine. What I have noticed is that the light indicators on the RJ45 jack on the back are steady state yellow and orange, regardless of whether there is a cable plugged into it.
I've been otherwise very happy with my Linksys WRT54GL but have not been able to work from home without my work VPN from disconnecting/reconnecting multiple times throughout the day.
The IT guy said that a lot of people have issues with the older Linksys routers, and recommended I get something more modern. Assuming that is correct, what would be a good upgrade for me? I really don't want to spend too much time setting up the new router, but would love QoS if it comes out of the box. I have about 4 wired connections and about 6-8 wireless connections, on a 20MBit connection.

I got the HP Officejet 6600 and successfully connected it to the network at home. I managed to connect the home desktop (Windows 7), a laptop (Windows 7) and a Macbook Pro. These are all the personal ones.However, when I tried to install the the HP Officejet 6600 on the work laptop, the installation wasn't able to find the printer on the home network when doing it wirelessly. I managed to install it the USB cable but that was about it.Also, when trying to install it wirelessly, it found our home network, couldn't find the printer so it prompted me to type in the IP address for the printer, which I did, however, it still wasn't able to find it. The work laptop is connected to the home wireless in the network connections and the American Express server.Is there a way to get around this issue so I can connect the laptop to the printer wirelessly as it would make life a LOT easier.
I have gone through the docs in creating a static NAT. I have gone into firewall/NAT Rules and set the internal / external entries, set access rules for the various services. However, I am unable to make a connection remotely. Somewhere along the line, I must be missing a command or something.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a DIR-655 B1 router. The firmware is 2.00 NA. Just to clarify, the DSi itself does work with WPA, but the games only work with WEP. I made a guest account and set it to WEP and it still does not work. I have tried making the main connection WEP as well, but when I go on the game and try it, it says it is WPA and not WEP. My friend has a DIR-655 as well, but the hardware and firmware version are different. Her games work flawlessly.

Since thunder caused a brief shortage a week ago, I have been getting this error a lot:So when and how does this happen? Some of the time, all sites work perfectly. The rest of the time, about half the sites I try to visit yield this error. I might be browsing Website X for a while, and spontaneously, I start getting this blank screen error message for every page on that site. Unreachable sites usually start working within ~10 minutes though. Some sites always work (e.g. Reddit and Google, but not always the images in Google Images).If I try this on my laptop, using the same network cable, everything works perfectly. My computer is the only one in the house that has this error, for some reason.I have tried "ipconfig /flushdns", "ipconfig /renew", Google's DNS and OpenDNS, the "repair connection" thingie in Windows XP, restarting the server (well, my dad has), opening sites in Internet Explorer (I usually use Firefox) and unplugging/replugging my router.I haven't had any success although I have twice been tricked into believing that I've solved the problem, since all sites have randomly decided to work for a few minutes (non-reproducable of course).
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've never had this problem before with my ISP (Knology).But supposedly they had a scheduled maintenance real early this morning before 6 AM.Well, ever sense they did maintenance the router will not work and neither will my old one. The new router is a netgear, the old one is a linksys.I called them a few times and everything they had me try did not fix the problem.I can get internet access connected directly to the modem just can't get the router to work.When I right click and diagnose the problem it tells me that it's a connectivity issue with the modem. When I use my old linksys router and diagnose the problem it tells me that the DNS server is not responding.I have also tried resetting the new and old routers to default settings and started fresh.

View 7 Replies View RelatedThe host computer runs Windows XP (SP3), and the client - Windows 7 Ultimate. The host computer connects to the internet with a USB wireless modem (HSUPA USB modem by ZTE). So I enabled sharing and connected the two computers with an Ethernet cable, so the first time it worked. The next time I turned on the computers I wasn't able to share the internet, I wasn't able to load any pages on the client computer, however Skype was working. I tried to use various guides on how to input IP addresses manually etc, but that didn't work, finally I felt like I had changed so much that I decided to restore both machines to an earlier point and start over, that still didn't work.
Then I bought a Cross-over Ethernet cable, and the first time I connected the computers - the internet was working on the client computer, I reboot - only Skype works.When I try to diagnose the problem on Windows 7, it usually can't find anything (it says that I have access to the Internet, but in the "Details..." it says that IPV6 has no internet access), or once it said something about IP addresses but wasn't able to fix it, the other time it said that DHCP wasn't enabled on the client computer and it enabled it and the internet started working. Right now on the client computer in LAN "Details..." it says that DHCP is disabled, but the diagnostic tool doesn't detect anything.
What numbers I should blur, when I restored, on the XP (host) computer the antivirus broke down (avast, free), so I had to uninstall it with a special uninstaller through safe mode and install it again, so when I reinstalled the internet sharing was working again, so it made me think that it was avast's fault, however there's no firewall in my free version so in avast forum I was told that avast is not the problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am delving into the world of Certificates and the ASA. I am having the HARDEST time grasping this though. I've poured over Cisco whitepapers, been reading through books and things just aren't solidifying in my head. So my question is, how do Certificates for SSL work on the ASA? Where does the data transmit and how does an ASA talk to a CA and User for things?
Lets do this basic topology for the discussion:
End User------SSL VPN---> ASA--->Internal CA
So in theory we are supposed to create a certificate and install it on the ASA and then set the outside interface to trust that cert?
How do identity certs and root certs also work out on the ASA? I have instructions that pretty much say
Create RSA key
Create new trustpoint
cry ca auth newtrustpoint
cry ca enroll newtrustpoint
cry ca import ?
So what are all of these steps specifically doing? Also in ASDM it shows a normal Certificate and an Identity Certificate. I can't really figure out the difference between the two. Does one cert talk to the CA and the other identify the ASA to the CA?

Whenever I try to go on safari, I get the message that it can't connect to the internet. However, when I use Opera, everything works fine, so it's not something wrong with my internet. At the same time, the website omegle stopped working for me, I don't know if this is related. When I open firefox, I also get the message "TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined". I don't know what that means, but it's probably involved.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm playing around with CBAC, trying to get a feel for it so I can manage it on some of our routers. I think I have the basics down, but for some reason I'm still having these issues with a 2801 running the attached config:- I had to add the "router-traffic" option to my ICMP inspect line to be able to ping anything at all on the 10.10.2.0 side from the router. We have a router doing firewall duty which is using CBAC but does not have the "router-traffic" option on its ICMP inspect line, but pings from it still work. What gives? I've read that by default (without the "router-traffic" option) traffic originating from within a router will not be inspected by CBAC, so it looks like my lab router is working as expected, I just can't figure out why pings work from the production firewall router.
- I can not copy a config via TFTP to 10.10.2.97. Other network devices can access the TFTP server on .97, so it's my lab router that has the problem. I can ping .97, it can ping this router (.5). It looks to me like I have TFTP allowed through this router, but it doesn't work. When I do a copy command, my TFTP server on .97 sees PUTs coming in, but then says it's not getting responses from the router, so it looks like traffic is only flowing out from the router but not back in. I thought the TFTP inspect would fix that. There doesn't seem to be a "router-traffic" option for the TFTP inspect[CODE]
My wireless internet works fine, but its slower (or i assume) than wired. When i first got my comp, i didn't have the money for a long ethernet cable, so my friend gave me his wireless adaptor. I've been wanting to switch as i now have a cable that connects to my xbox from my router and i can switch from xbox to computer, but when i plug it in and undo the wireless adaptor my computer doesn't register that there is any internet at all. My wired internet won't work and i have no idea why.
