Linksys Wireless Router :: E1200 WLAN Configuration?
Jul 22, 2012The E1200 is connected to a router (BEFSR41) that is acting as DHCP server. So I have disabled the DHCP Server option on the E1200. Once configured, the wireless connection is working by unexpectedly only as guest user (I tried via PC XP, PC Win 7 and IPad) on the guest network. The problem is that once configured, the E1200 is no more reachable unless I reset it and I reconfigure it. If I try to access the IP 192.168.1.1, I get the setup page of the router (BEFSR41) and not the E1200. From another computer the IP Scan discover the E1200 as 192.168.1.103, but I am not able to reach it at that address.

Sep 8, 2012I am implementing wireless lan controller for a customer's site. This site uses Cisco WLC2112 and AIR-LAP1041. I configure via start-up wizard and WLAN security configuration. The client joining via WLAN seems to work fine, able to browse Internet. But when adding a shared printer or sharing files, the machine's unable to find the computer name. When test pinging, it replies when pinging by IP only. This is not happened when using a LAN wire.

Each time I try to launch the Dell WLAN Utility I get a message:
"Internal configuration is inconsistent. Please restart the machine to resolve the problem."
Restarting does not solve the problem.
The wireless card connects fine with Windows managing the connection. But what about the Dell Utility? What can be done so it will launch and I can let it manage the wireless connections?
I have reinstalled the Driver and utility using R115319.EXE

From time to time (in some cases after few seconds since the connection was made) it's loosing the connectivity with the router. Normally it's loosing the connectivity when the connection it's not used by any phone application.Is this normal? I would prefer to connect the WLC Guest port to an ASA 5510 and the WLC Staff port to an internal 2960S switch. Will this work? I haven't setup a 2500 series controller previously.

Luckily it is possible to switch out the usb-networking module in the devices kernel to make it appear to windows as a generic RNDIS gadget. Plugging it into a windows PC I can now ssh into it, I can open an sftp session, everything works perfectly...
Except I can't access the web. I can't view other network resources. I look in the network connections section in the control panel and see my two connections, but I don't see any way to set which one to use for what. Seeing as I only use usb0 for ssh and eth0 for everything else, it seems I need a way to set it up so that usb0 only gets port 22 or something similar.
Is there any way to achieve this, or another method by which I could leave my phone connected to my Pc while using it for other network tasks?

Too bad I can't use 5GHz as Nokia mobile phones that use our wireless connecion are only G capable. Even iPhone 4 cant fully use 5Ghz in 802.11n.

Dec 14, 2012I have webcams that need port 8081 opened and I did that, everything worked fine until my DIR655 jammed up and power cycling it and the modem 3-4 times DID not make it work: no internet access and it was definitely a DIR655 problem. So, out with the paperclip to do the big reset, causing me to lose my configuration. When "most" of it came back up with my new config (I had screen prints), all was okay EXCEPT the webcams. Addresses and ports were all configured properly, address was fixed too on the client computer rather than use DHCP. I had a DNS relocation service running (DYNDNS) for the WAN side, but that address (My IP) didn't change either. I tried EVERYTHING. Finally, I realized in all my screwing around that I had enabled UPnP in my application, something I hadn't done before, but did this time as a desperation move. UPnP had always been checked off in the router. So.....I REMOVED my port forwarding and virtual server settings (either one worked before), and voila, everything working, Is this a normal occurrence, that if you have UPnP running, that this auto configuration overrides any manual configuration?
