I discovered that my LAN port was not found anywhere, even though it was enabled in BIOS. This prompted me to buy a netgear USB wireless adapter which gives me internet access but I'm having several issues now.I am unable to synch my internet time with any server, and therefore cannot use windows update which requires time to be synched for whatever reason.

My laptop won't connect to the internet at all and status shows limited access to router. It was fine a few days ago until a Windows update. I did a system restore on it back to before the windows update and the internet was working just fine but then there was an automatic windows update again and the connection is gone again. When I try to troubleshoot it says the network adapter is not working properly. I'm currently using the main computer in the house. I can't access any network at all on my laptop and I'm nearly in tears. This has happened before about 7 months ago after a windows update. At that time I did a system restore and reinstalled the updates and it worked just fine. This time nothing. I have tried to check for updated drivers for the network adapters but windows says I'm running the recent ones.

The map shows it connected to the network. We have several other devices on our network both wired and wireless and all of them are working fine.
I was able to use system restore yesterday to roll back the update. It still did not work. However, I tried connecting to a neighbor's wireless. It said something about refreshing the adapter and then it connected to our network and was working fine. Unfortunately, when she shut down last night, the windows update was reapplied. I turned off automatic updates and tried using system restore. It did not work this time. I removed every update that was applied in the last 48 hours but I still cannot get the computer to connect to the internet. However, it does connect to the internet when I bring it up in Safe Mode.
All the internet access from my company needs to be pass through a proxy server from the Global server which needs a LDAP user name/password in order to access the internet resource. Recently, I purchase 2 set of Windows 8 professional 64B OEM machine, the IE is ok as I embed the proxy IP/LDAP user name/password etc.. I can also install some Windows APP from the store, however, all live feed seems blocked..Tried quite a lot work around but no cure. Could I setup another internal proxy server (linux based) which store my LDAP user name/password in order to access the external resource and all Windows8 machine shall point the proxy to this Linux proxy server so it can use my LDAP user name/password.

Have been running win 2000 pro for last 5 yrs with trendnet pcitxr 1 gigabit nic card. Never had any problem running & connecting. Now cannot access internet @ 1 gigabit, ok @100mbit, for the most part. sometimes browser will lock-up, firefox or IE. Never had any problems like this before. Have changed nic card, replaced cable modem, wires. Have delete trendnet software and reloaded, ran winsock fix, move router cables, ran directly from cable modem, bypassing router, move nic to new slot, ran ipconfig /release & reset. All to no avail. when I ping comes back good. NIC cards I have tried all seem to be working.

I just bought an alienware M14x and about 3 weeks after i set it up the LAN and WAN adapters stopped working and i couldn't get a wireless connection or hardwired connection.
I called technical support and they informed me it was due to a generic windows update that wasn't really compatible with my alienware machine. So i did a system restore and now its working fine and i disabled automatic updates.

I just wanted to note that the 3.2.7 driver obtained from Windows Update doesn't work well, drops connections and takes longer to establish a connection. I'm running into an issue trying to update my NAC from 4.8.3 to 4.9.1. I have also tried to update to 4.9 and got the same error. I keep getting Error: Failed to upload file Content length exceeded (669550974 > 524288000) which indicates to me that the NAC is expecting to see a max file size of 524288000 but the tar.gz that I'm sending is the 669550974. I have not seen anything in the release notes about having to do anything special to get this to upload. Has anyone else run into this issue and got it resolved?

I just finished a new build and updated windows and gpu and mobo drivers but my internet downloads are really really slow. Next to network controller it has an exclamation mark and when I run check for updates it say it was unable to find drivers for it. My motherboard is an asus maximus v formula and I did update the lan before connecting to the internet through usb with another computer.

I've been beating my head against the wall trying to get this router to properly forward ports for a bit torrent application, but it not only won't do that, it doesn't want to save DHCP reservations and it doesn't want to recognize my computer on the LAN if I set a static IP address (although it does allow my computer to connect and get an internet connection). From the D-Link website, the description of firmware update 3.12NA looks like it might take care of these problems, but I can't get the router to update. The D-Link website offers update 3.11NA (4/20/09), 3.12NA (3/8/10), and 3.13NA (9/30/10). Why does the website offer me a different update than the router itself? I downloaded 3.13NA and unzipped the folder, which has a text file and a .bin file; I presume the latter is the update.
