So i set up my trendnet ip camera. It stopped working so i called their tech support and they gave me another ip number. My question is what is the range of ip addresses.? ,my address is 192.1.1..xxX do they just pick a random number??

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a device(internet radio) that seems to require an address format of 192.168.xxx.xxx. The router does not do this range and I cannot set it to that range ( the first three xxx). If I try the router defaults back to 192.168.x.xxx. Any way to over come this so I can connect the radio (which works fine wired as the ISP can supply a 192.168.xxx.xxx IP address).

My own WiFi network is fine, but while I am connected to any public hotspot I get the 'no internet access' message on the wifi symbol.While connected to my own network, ipconfig/all shows that I have an Autoconfiguration IPv4 address in the (correct) 192 range - but when connected to a hotspot, the address is in the 169 range, or occasionally (as in the instance below) in the 10 range. Clearly this is the problem, but I cannot figure out what has caused it. Is it hardware? Software? Malware? Or user error?I have run the Wireless Test and the log results are pasted below.

The IP adress range setup does not accept 1 (example 192.168.1.245) as a range setup for IP address. How do i get in communication with the unit when I can't view the setup due to the factory default set as 192.168.1.245? I keep getting some additional IP addresses logging onto my home network that have an address outside what should be allowed by the router. The server is running at 192.168.2.1 and is set to only allow clients from 192.168.2.2 - 192.168.2.10 so a total of 9 clients should be allowed on.The problem is that something keeps logging in with an address of 192.168.169.2 or 3 etc. Sometimes more than one device at a time.I have assumed that it is some automated or virtual client as I'm pretty certain my network has not been breached. I have a 9 character password with a relatively random alphanumeric combination, although I haven't tried changing the password (I live in a share house with with a bunch of devices using wireless, so I haven't yet bothered). What I don't understand is how it has connected with the xx.xx.169.xx range at all. I have a Belkin 'Share' Wireless N Modem Router and at some stage there was a 'guest' network but that has since been disabled and I still am seeing the extra address. I have attached a screen shot of the DHCP client list on the router.The following is a list of devices that may be on the network at times, I'm thinking one of these may be responsible for the problem:

PS3
Macbook
Epson wireless printer
Android HTC Desire Mobile Phone
Laptops running various Windows versions (XP, Vista and 7)
A few thoughts I had:
- the android phone is capable of running a wireless hotspot, may have to look into it to see if if has been operating as an access point into the Belkin router, but assumed this wouldn't bring up clients connected to the phone on the home router.
- The desktop has PS3 Media server installed to stream video to the PS3 over the network (not that I have ever managed to get it to work), however this is not ever open on the desktop.
Using Android phone and have to set up Port Forwarding to access the cameras. I have to change the IP Address to a static one instead of the one issued by the Router. How do I change the IP Address of the camera to one outside the DHCP range?

I have configured Stateful NAT as below
157.220.100.61 is Static NAT to 10.1.1.3 using redundancy
Though HSRP is working good, when RTR-1 is down, I am not able to reach Webserver (10.1.1.3) using RTR-2
We found in the that ISP Switch, that even when RTR-1 is down, the MAC address for 157.220.100.61 is still present one pointing to RTR-1 and other pointing to RTR-2. There are 2 MAC address entries for 157.220.100.61
Got an ASA5520 running V8.2(3) and we want to upgrade our internet bandwidth. Our ISP says OK but we need to install different physical circuit, upgrade CPE router, etc.
Then they say, btw your globally allocated IPs will change - this is a problem as we have Site-to-Site VPN Tunnels, IPSEC RA, etc.
ISP are proposing to give us a 3 month period whereby old & new IP blocks will be routed to our ASA (by means of secondary IP address on their Cisco CPE).
Multiple IPs on the same physical i/f on the ASA require sub-interfaces/IP Addresses/VLAN ids on my "outside" i/f.
Is this going to horiibly break Site-to-Site VPN Tunnesl, IPSEC remote access ?
Will VLANs work at all with IPSEC on the "oustide" i/f at all ?
I was wondering how to tighten the security of my email delivery to a range of ip addresses (I know how on my old firewall but the cisco is quite a bit different). Right now anyone sending email to a particular ip address on my firewall can do so. I want to restrict that to two ip address ranges it will accept deliver from. I'm thinking I need two network objects for the two ranges then add to a network object group. Configuring the ACL for delivery using that group if I'm correct about that ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedISP assigned us the following:xxx.yyy.zzz.32/30 as the outside interface network.This means .33 is the next hop, gateway, or default route.This means .34 is the outside interface on the ASA.xxx.yyy.zzz.64/26 as the ip address pool.This means xxx.yyy.zzz.65 to xxx.yyy.zzz.127 is the address pool.xxx.yyy.zzz is identical in all cases.Addresses .35 through .63 are owned by other parties and are not usable to us.The 33-34 setup works using static routing - IPSEC VPN is setup and functioning properly using these addresses.

we have a 3560 switch configured with EIGRP with dhcp. We have a user that we cannot ping, however the interface show up / up and no errors on interface. the ip address is 10.2.0.199 - however we have dhcp configured to exclude the range from dhcp ip dhcp excluded-address 10.22.0.1 10.22.0.200 how can this work station get a dhcp address if we have that ip range excluded from the dhcp pool?
The user is off a different switch that is a uplink to this distribution switch. Traceroutes shows that the problem is with the distribution switch.
I have a XSR-1805 (Version 7.5.0.0) enterasys router here. Got SNMP server to work successfully. The thing is that I couldn't make the router restrict a range of address allowed to use a community. Only 10.1.0.13 is allowed to use SNMP in this case.

Router says "Invalid IP address" when I try to make a manual IP address reservation of the IP address range.
Example: local network 192.168.1.0/24, where .1 is a router, .2 is a reservation, .20-.50 is a range for DHCP.
Before upgrade I didn't have this problem.
Does the ASA treat an object-group with a network-object containing a range of IP addresses as a netmask? For example, I can apply this configuration without the ASA throwing any errors though the configuration calls for a 'net mask':

I found that in the documentation it requires a netmask as oppose to a range. Is this a bug in the code? I am running code version 8.0(5)23 on a 5520. If this is not a bug how does the ASA treat this type of configuration when applied to an access list? When I ran a quick packet trace and denied access from that range it looks like the ASA doesn't read that configuration properly.
I switched from Time Capsule with AirPort to E2000 and have a problem with configuration.I use the same IPs as in AirPort and E2000 gives me an error:"The WAN IP address cannot be the same subnet as the Guest Network IP address" and I can't save configuration.But in my opinion they are different.I use "Static IP" option and I have IPs from my ISP: [code] So WAN IP is different subnet as LAN and I don't know what to do now. It worked with these settings in AirPort and here I can't proceed.

This is for peering between the two. The error they see on the Sidewinder is:So instead of seeing the external peer address he sees a 10.220.3.18 address. We are not sure what triggers this becuase normally he see's my 63.117.98.222 address.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an old ASA 5505, and I'm having some trouble with Nat Hairpinning. I've done this with other firewalls before and I am having no luck now. I have an internal address that I wish to forward from an external address- so if someone goes to 123.456.789.012:3456 then it will forward to 192.168.1.244:92 (All numbers are arbitrary here- only for illustration). I have and Access Rule and NAT and PAT set up so that I can get in if I originate from outside the LAN. What I am trying to do is to have this work from inside the LAN as well- so that if I am at my desk, and I connect a device and type in 123.456.789.012:3456, it will deliver the content at 192.168.1.244:92. The problem I am having is that it just isn't working, and I cannot figure out why- When I started here, there was an address configured to work this way, and it still works- I just cannot find what is different between what I am doing and what the person who configured it did.

I click the the clone my PC's MAC button in the MAC address clone tab. I get the following error :
"Mac address cannot be the multicast address"
The MAC address starts with 1C:C1:XX:XX:XX:XX
I even tried to update the firmware.
I recently switched routers to the DIR-615 and I'm trying to troubleshoot why one of our laptops keeps losing the IP address and gets a self-assigned IP address. I see the following messages in the log, I am wondering if the reason codes are listed and explained somewhere? I tried searching the manual but could not find any information.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWe have an ADSL connection and use a D-Link DSL-320B modem. We have a D-Link DIR-120 router connected to this modem. This has worked perfectly fine up until today when we disconnected the router and connected a computer (call it A) directly to the modem because it was getting an unusable connection through the router for some reason. We later also performed a factory reset on the DIR-120 router.
Unfortunately, after the above steps the router did not receive any IP address (through DHCP) from the ADSL connection anymore. During my attempts to debug this I noticed that my laptop (call it B) didn't get any IP address either (when connected directly to the modem). I noticed the following syslog entries repeating over and over while trying to connect: [code]
At this point computer A could still get a connection just fine tho (when connected directly to the modem).
I then tried to change the MAC address of the router to an arbitrary one (a copy of computer B's MAC address but with the last digit increased by one). The router still did not get assigned any IP address. Finally I tried making the router clone the MAC address of a third computer (call it C). C has never been connected directly to the modem. Doing this worked. After cloning the MAC address of computer C the router is immediately assigned an IP address and the internet connection works as it did prior to all this.
Now, my question is, why would computer B and the original MAC address of the router not be able to get an IP address while two other computers worked just fine? Why would changing to an arbitrary MAC address not work while cloning the MAC address of another computer did? Could the router's MAC address have been blocked by the ISP for some reason (and what could cause this)?
but my situation seems more like a blacklisting of some MAC addresses rather then allowing just a single MAC address.
