Wireless :: 1 User Account Cannot Connect On Internet?

I have a laptop with 2 user account (one for me - administrator and the other for my eleven year old son). Connection is wireless. Until a few months ago everything was working fine and then the problems started: my son could no longer connect on the internet with Explorer and Google Chrome but I managed to connect it via Firefox. And it worked until yesterday. As of yesterday he can no longer connect to the internet even with Firefox. I tried again as an administrator to reinstall Google Chrome, but the icon is shown only on my user account. I took a completely new browser - Opera, but fails to connect. When I go to Diagnose & Repair connection problems - shows no problems. On my account everything is working properly. OS is Windows Vista Home Premium

While I was at school there was a system in place where by you had to enter a user name and password to access the internet. Every student had a data limit like 3GB per month for example. I remember it had something to do with a proxy. I would like to recreate this system on my office LAN as some staff members have been downloading a lot slowing down the (very expensive) Internet connection. Limiting each users data will discourage large downloads.

A couple days ago my administrator account stopped being able to connect internet via wireless or Ethernet however my other accounts can still access it. I went to find a restore point but they have all been deleted. I'm not sure if it is a virus or something else.

We had a power outage that kicked off our server and our network switch (2008R2, Cisco2960), before we could get it back up, a user was able to log into his laptop.
The user used the domain login - not the local machine account - he obviously wasn't able to access any shared resources, but how did he log in with a domain account, when the server and switch were both off?

I am just wondering if it is possible to have two user accounts in Cisco RV042 V3 (Firmware: v4.1.1.01-sp (Dec 6 2011 20:03:18). User accounts to mean that one user can access the router with an administrative level access can do all the changes and management of the router's configurations and settings while another user can only do viewing of the system summary tab and connect and manage the simple configuration to connection to the ISP in both WANs, like setting up the connection type and release/renew the ip address for dynamic ip assigned by the ISP DHCP server.

I have setup ACS 5.2 in my lab and have it completely funcation with Downloadable ACLs, Dynamic VLANs and the identity store on the backend is Active Directory. I need it to lock a user account in AD if there are to many auth attempts. I have gone into AD and set a max login attempts to 3 but if I continue to fail authentication (on purpose) using radius auth, it never locks out my AD account? I am using the Anyconnect 3.0 with NAM as the supplicant installed on my workstation. I have also configured the switchport that I am connect to with the following commands. I tried the dot1x max-reauth-req 3 command and that didn't really do anything for me either. What am I missing here?

I would like to create a additional user vpn on a 55010 where the user authenticates with the firewall and not the radius server.This user should NOT be able to log on to the firewall, but only be able to authenticates with the vpn client.I'm correct that the command "username abc123 password abc234 privilege 0" ?Also for this remote vpn how to I make sure the user only authencates with this password?

I cant connect to internet but other user can. We use the same laptop but my internet connection was cut off whereas my son's internet connection on the same computer is working fine. I have used cable as well with no success. Obviously there is nothing wrong with the router or cable or wireless but there must be something wrong with my user settings. My son is using the same computer and can connect fine to internet as another user.

I bought a used HP nc6000 and can't get it to connect to my secured account. The router I have is a Linksys E1000. I know my laptop has the wireless card and it's working because I can log into my "guest" account but of course that's unsecured and I don't want to be using it. Especially when we do purchasing over the internet. My laptop shows my secured account and when I try to connect it just says "waiting for the network" and then times out.I'm sure this is part of my problem and wnat to know if it can be fixed or not. The laptop shows WEP and the router is WPA or WPA2. Is there any way of making these work together.

I recently deleted an account off of my computer, it was just the account I didn't use that had no password, it was not the admin or administrator account. So I deleted it, and went to bed, I woke up the next day and my computer was just finishing installing an update, after it restarted my internet does not work and it has the yellow caution triangle over top. I troubleshooted, and got the message "windows could not automatically detect proxy settings"When I open network and sharing center it would say "identifying" forever and not identify I guess.The weird thing is, my sisters computer and my old computer can connect to the internet fine. I tried bringing my computer next to the router/modem(not sure of the difference) and i plugged the ethernet cord directly into the modem/router into my computer, and it's the same thing. The most annoying thing is that i cannot do a system restore as i have not set it up before hand.(yes i know that is a very novice mistake

How to successfully configure and connect to a DynDNS account with RVS4000? This was working fine for me until recently when I think I upgraded the firmware to 1.3.3.5.I am trying to connecting to DynDNS.org service. In the past, I used the following string for the Hostname which worked:'mysubdomain.domain.com&system=custom' (including small quotes)According to the RVS4000 documentation, all you should have to do is specify the host name with DynDNS but this clearly is not accurate.

We had setup a wired/wireless LAN using Cisco 881W router for one of our client. Wired lan works OK but we have issues with wireless. Users on wireless LAN can connect to the wireless network, but cannot browse the Internet. The wifi network does not give out an ip address to the client so client cannot get to the default gateway and Internet. Not sure what part of config does not work.

I am having problems with my RV042.I have a Intervoip(url...) account for VOIP.
When I try to register the intervoip account to the internet I don't get any kind of reply. My VOIP server just keeps requesting to register the SIP account, but gets no reply.
When I connect an other router to my ISP modem, the register just goes fine. However the RV042 blocks something I don't really know what the cause could be.I installed wireshark to monitor my network traffic.
When I monitor registering with intervoip with the RV042, I see requests but no replies from intervoip, the VOIP server keeps requesting, but doesn't get any reply.
When I monitor registering with intervoip with an other router, I see requests from the VOIP server, and replies from intervoip initiating my intervoip account and everything goes well and registers. The following I tried:
- Forwarding port 5060 to private ip
- Putting private ip in DMZ
- Disabled the firewall
All without result. (Also tried them all at once)

I have 5508 controller in my lab. I am working on a project to set up a public internet but with some condition.
- User should able to connect to the SSID without any authentication.
- Once user will connec to the SSID it should redirect to an external URL which indicates terms and condition and email address field.
- User should enter his/her email address in email addrss filed and click I accept button.
- Once that is done then he/she is allowed to access internet.
We are not sure how can we achive this as I do not know what should be the return value for WLC to allow that user to go through or what should be the settings on the WLC to redirect to the page.
I have seen a settings on web authentication for external URL but I guess it is only for username passwor or Radius authentication. While in this case I do not want to use any authentication just an accept buttor or Decline button and all good to go.
