A couple days ago my administrator account stopped being able to connect internet via wireless or Ethernet however my other accounts can still access it. I went to find a restore point but they have all been deleted. I'm not sure if it is a virus or something else.

Until a few months ago everything was working fine and then the problems started: my son could no longer connect on the internet with Explorer and Google Chrome but I managed to connect it via Firefox. And it worked until yesterday. As of yesterday he can no longer connect to the internet even with Firefox. I tried again as an administrator to reinstall Google Chrome, but the icon is shown only on my user account. I took a completely new browser - Opera, but fails to connect. When I go to Diagnose & Repair connection problems - shows no problems. On my account everything is working properly. OS is Windows Vista Home Premium

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy computer at work crashed so I had to reinstall windows 7.When it was working properly I was able to connect to our main server computer. After the reinstall I am able to connect to the internet however I am unable to connect main server computer. Usually, before it crashed, the server would automatically show up in the networks folder. Now all I can see it my computer and not the server computer.If someone knows how I can get my computer connecting to the main server I have tried everything and nothing is working.The main server computer it Windows XP and my computer is Windows 7.

I have checked the mac filtering, reset the Router & reconfigured with new wireless settings still the issue persist. If i connect the Laptop to the modem main Laptop works fine.

I want to connect a third wireless (Linksys WRT 54GL) to the main router,but I want to connect wirelessly (without any cables). I have tried to bridge it,ie disabling DHCP and assigning a static IP address which is in the same range as the main router but still if i connect my laptop using the third router I cant log onto the internet and worst still I cant ping the main router. The main router is the one that is connected to the proxy server. My connections are as follows,from the wireless antenna the cable goes to the proxy server's wan port,the main wireless router is linked to the server's lan port.My server's LAN ip is 192.168.0.1 and the main wireless router is 192.168.0.2 I have two other routers which are wired to this main wireless router and their local IP addresses are 192.168.0.4 and 192.168.0.5 respectively. I want to connect a third wireless router to the main router but this time without using a cable. What i have done so far is I have assigned it the IP address 192.168.0.6 and I have disabled DHCP,all the other settings I have put the same as the main wireless router.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Main computer (which has a wired connection to router) internet is running so slow, i mean so slow that i cannot even do a speed test, it keeps failing, im continuously getting server timed out messages when browsing, and to watch a youtube video of 1 minute long it will take about 5 - 10 minutes to stream it before i can watch it. However despite the above the two laptops and ipad work great, i have a braodband speed of around 16megs. Now here is everything i have done so far. After calling my ISP to se if it was their fault, which it turned out not to be, they got me to change all the DNS and IP settings to manual, they gave me all the numbers to put in. Again that did not work so i used namebench to find the quickest DNS servers for me, that didnt work ethier so i just reverted all settings back to automatic as they were before.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a used HP nc6000 and can't get it to connect to my secured account. The router I have is a Linksys E1000. I know my laptop has the wireless card and it's working because I can log into my "guest" account but of course that's unsecured and I don't want to be using it. Especially when we do purchasing over the internet. My laptop shows my secured account and when I try to connect it just says "waiting for the network" and then times out.I'm sure this is part of my problem and wnat to know if it can be fixed or not. The laptop shows WEP and the router is WPA or WPA2. Is there any way of making these work together.

So I deleted it, and went to bed, I woke up the next day and my computer was just finishing installing an update, after it restarted my internet does not work and it has the yellow caution triangle over top. I troubleshooted, and got the message "windows could not automatically detect proxy settings"When I open network and sharing center it would say "identifying" forever and not identify I guess.The weird thing is, my sisters computer and my old computer can connect to the internet fine. Every student had a data limit like 3GB per month for example. I remember it had something to do with a proxy. I would like to recreate this system on my office LAN as some staff members have been downloading a lot slowing down the (very expensive) Internet connection. When I try to register the intervoip account to the internet I don't get any kind of reply. My VOIP server just keeps requesting to register the SIP account, but gets no reply.
When I connect an other router to my ISP modem, the register just goes fine. However the RV042 blocks something I don't really know what the cause could be.I installed wireshark to monitor my network traffic.
When I monitor registering with intervoip with the RV042, I see requests but no replies from intervoip, the VOIP server keeps requesting, but doesn't get any reply.
When I monitor registering with intervoip with an other router, I see requests from the VOIP server, and replies from intervoip initiating my intervoip account and everything goes well and registers. The following I tried:
- Forwarding port 5060 to private ip
- Putting private ip in DMZ
- Disabled the firewall
All without result. (Also tried them all at once)

My main computer is Win7 64, (Phenom II quad, asus M490GTD) , my wife's computer(wired connection, Dell P5Duo) and my work laptop (wireless connection HP core I5) are XP. I have a USB printer attached to the wife's computer and two wireless Squeezebox receivers. This network worked with the old router. With the new router i can access internet from all computers, and connect to the new network with the Squeezeboxes. I cannot print from the main computer, even though the printer shows up in the devices window and the test page spools.

I managed to get the laptop (WinVista 32bit my comp is Win764bit) seeing the media from my computer but not other files and printer. I had previously set up a user under 'share' to enable the link between the computers and using the old Belkin it worked fine. Alas that is not the case and want it to get the sharing going. The 'Share' user is still setup and I could not see it, or I have forgotten how to access it?
We have wireless in the house, the router, etc is down in the basement where my office is. Is there any way to increase the strength to the main level of the house? Our house is standard size, but it seems to weaken upstairs.
