Wireless :: How To Connect Third Linksys WRT 54GL To Main Router

Apr 12, 2011

I have a network where I have two wireless routers wired to a third (main) router. I want to connect a third wireless (Linksys WRT 54GL) to the main router, but I want to connect wirelessly (without any cables). I have tried to bridge it,ie disabling DHCP and assigning a static IP address which is in the same range as the main router but still if i connect my laptop using the third router I cant log onto the internet and worst still I cant ping the main router. The main router is the one that is connected to the proxy server. My connections are as follows, from the wireless antenna the cable goes to the proxy server's wan port, the main wireless router is linked to the server's lan port.My server's LAN ip is and the main wireless router is I have two other routers which are wired to this main wireless router and their local IP addresses are and respectively. I want to connect a third wireless router to the main router but this time without using a cable. What i have done so far is I have assigned it the IP address and I have disabled DHCP,all the other settings I have put the same as the main wireless router.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Wrt 54gl - Can't Connect After Security Added

Aug 4, 2011

I finally added wpa personnel security to my network. It worked on all computers until my sons xbox wouldn't connect so I disconnected the modem and router and reconnected. After this, the main computer at the router worked but 3 other laptops wouldn't connect to the network. I finally realized it wasn't broadcasting the ssid. All are working except I have an order computer running xp that previously worked-I hadn't checked it for a week-Ibut I just checked and it doesn't connect to the network. It finds the signal and I put the password in but it won't connect. I've deleted the connection and added it back with no luck.

Linksys Wireless Router :: PSP Won't Connect To Main Or Guest - E2000

Dec 6, 2010

We have been unable to connect our PSPs to the new E2000, and after several hours we're ready to throw in the towel and go get a different router! The PSPs only see the "guest" connection when using the scan option, but cannot connect to it. Even after manually adding both the main and the guest info we are STILL unable to connect either of the PSPs We had an older router from your company which we had no issues connecting 6 desktops, a lappy, 2 psp, 2 ds, 2 xbox 360, and a Wii, as well as our smart phones. After this recent "upgrade" to the E2000 the PSPs CANNOT connect no matter what we do. It gives many different error messages.

Linksys Access Point :: WRT 54GL - Configuration Page

Aug 30, 2007

My question is regarding gaining access to my Linksys wireless router configuration page. I recently turned my Linksys WRT54GL wireless router into an access point and since I have done so I am no longer able to access the configuration page for my router.

The problem that I am encountering is not one of connectivity, but rather entry. Prior to turning my wireless router into an access point I was able to connect to the router by means of my browser ( I am still able to connect to the router, but whenever I type in a user name and password the router just simply does not recognize the information. I have tried resetting the router multiple times, but I am still denied access to my router despite having the correct user name and password. I have version 1.1 of the Linksys WRT54GL wireless router and have the latest firmware.

WHR HP G54 / WRT 54GL - Extending Wireless With Tomato Routers

Jun 21, 2011

Currently I have a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 wireless router running tomato 1.28. The router sits in the basement in the front corner of the house. The signal is actually very good from the basement, but only on the side of the house where the router is sitting.

Is it possible to add a second router to extend the wireless? I would want to have the second router connected via Cat6 instead of wireless. I would probably go with a WRT54GL.

Linksys E1000 - Wireless Speed Drops To Nothing When Main PC Is Off With Great Signal

Jun 22, 2012

I have a Linksys E1000 running on the latest firmware available from the Cisco website. When my main PC (Windows 7 64Bit SP1) which is connected with a ethernet cable is running the wireless speed is great for all my connected devices. (Android/Apple phones, tablets, family PC, etc). But when I shut down my main PC the wireless speed drops to the point where it can take 3-5 mins for google.com to load up. The wireless connection is still showing as strong, just the speed isn't there anymore. If I were to turn my PC back on, everything will load up almost instantly and be back to normal. I've tried reinstalling the router, resetting it all back to default settings and re configuring it but I've had no luck in solving this.

Netgear WNR3500 - How To Setup Second Wireless Router Off Main One

Jul 7, 2012

I have a wireless audio system using several Apple Airport Express boxes currently communicating using 802.11g through my Verizon FiOS MI424WR (Actiontec) router. I also have wireless security cameras and several laptops on the same connection. I occasionally have audio dropouts I suspect due to wireless bandwidth limitations. I have a Netgear WNR3500 Wireless-N Gigabit router that I would like to hang off of the Verizon router and move the Airport Expresses, which are 802.11N capable, to its Wi-fi connection. This would keep my audio streams separate from the video and other wireless traffic and take advantage of the 802.11N.I in configuring the router/s to facilitate this arrangement. I have numerous Windows machines (XP and Windows 7), mostly hardwired, on my main network along with a NAS containing my audio library. So all devices need to be able to see all other devices.

D-Link DIR-655 :: No Connectivity Between Wired And Wireless Devices (on Main SSID)

Feb 24, 2011

Ive had this 655 for about a year now and it has been rock solid. But, there has been one slight issue.

And and all wireless devices can see each other and all wired devices can see each other....but the wired cant see the wireless and vis versa.

The wireless devices (W7 and Vista laptops) can see the wired devices when they are plugged in. But my phone and Galaxy Tab can only see whatever wireless devices there are (cant be plugged in). Even my wired Samsung TV cant see the shares on the Tab or wireless laptops (and vis versa). So, its certainly not a firewall or OS config issue.

Now, I made sure they are all connecting via the main SSID and not the "isolated" Guest SSID....but its acting like the main SSID is isolated from the wired LAN somehow.

Firmware 1.34. IPs for the wired and wireless devices are all in the 1.2 - 1.50 range.

Cisco Wireless :: Devices To Reach SA520W Radio In Main Building

Jan 9, 2013

We have a Windows server based network (15 wired computers) and four wireless devices (more to come)We are using a CISCO SA520W appliance in the main building as the perimeter Internet gateway / firewall / wireless access.  It all works well.We have a second building too far away for wireless devices to reach the SA520W radio in the main  building. The second building is connected via fiber to the main building (switch to switch).  Several wired computers are connected to the switch in the second building. We want to provide seamless wireless connectivity as wireless device users move between buildings.
We thought to mount and connect another simple B/G capable wireless access point, via ethernet wire, to the switch in the second building.  But we're not sure of the best CISCO/Linksys model to choose for this.  The choice should work well with the SA520W configuration and be relatively simple to configure in that environment. We're also unsure of the steps to configure a seamless wireless experience for the roving wireless device users.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Can't Connect To Or Cisco Connect

Feb 25, 2011

I just bought the e1000 router today and I'm already having trouble. I got it setup the first time and all my computers set up with it and it works fine for internet. Everything is snappy and responsive and I don't have any of the problems I did with my old belkin. However, I am unable to connect to the router using cisco connect or the web interface. I need to forward ports, configure wireless security, etc etc. All I did was disable the guest account through cisco connect, and then when the software just sat there doing nothing with the spinning circle in the middle, I opened task manager and killed the process to get it to go away. Now I can't connect using either cisco connect or the web interface.
